What You Can Expect

The Grid-Scale Renewables GIS team is responsible for spatial data management, visualization, and analysis in support of ENGIE North America’s utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage platform. The Application Development Intern will play a critical role in the renewables development process by supporting our existing backend applications and helping to develop new tools for the team. As the Application Development Intern, you can expect to gain applied database management experience, exposure to and familiarity with an advanced ESRI Enterprise environment, and an understanding of wind, solar, and battery storage project development.

 

 

  • SQL server data management and analysis using TSQL and Python
  • ArcGIS Enterprise content management using Python script
  • Develop custom solutions for desktop and web platforms using JavaScript, Python, and/or C#
  • Optimize and enhance existing applications to improve system performance and capacity
  • Support existing web mapping platform, including development web applications, construction trackers, and interactive dashboards

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be at least a junior or senior working toward an undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering or related field

  • Strong technical background with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle – designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining tools and applications
  • Ability and interest in learning new technologies and adapting quickly to new requirements
  • Proficiency in Python or C#
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and with Windows operating system
  • Nice to have: Software Version Control (Git, Bitbucket, TFS), Web Development (JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, Dojo)
  • GIS background and experience with GIS systems (ESRI products) a plus
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation

What You Can Expect

As the Operations Manager for our power plant situated in Abbott, TX, you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

 

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising one technician. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site. Additionally, to ensure swift response to emergencies caused by outages, scheduled maintenance, and on-call reporting, it is required that you live within a 50-mile radius of the site.

 

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the wind farm site
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties including Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas) as well as work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses
  • Knowledge of using equipment suitable for lifting up to 50 lbs, if necessary

  • Must have the ability to travel domestically on limited occasions to support other sites.

ENGIE North America is seeking a Chilled Water Systems Tech I for a critical role on our University of Iowa team. In this position, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating, as well as performing preventative maintenance and repair tasks on the chilled water plant(s). This role is essential for providing a high-quality experience for our clients. Reporting to the Chilled Water Plant Manager, this position is located on the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA.

 

Your day will begin with a safety or hand-off meeting, where you will be briefed on the status of the equipment and any issues that may have arisen during the previous shift. Following this, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of turbines, centrifugal chillers, pumps, electric motors, tower fans, and related equipment.

 

Key responsibilities include assisting in the installation and repair of pressure piping for compressed air, water, steam, domestic water, condenser water, chilled water, and condensate. ENGIE North America is hiring a Battery Storage Technician for our Five Wells Solar project located in Rogers, TX.  

 

Your daily responsibilities begin with performing High Voltage (HV) switching, substation, and HV equipment lockouts and grounding tasks. Demonstrate the consistent use of Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques when solving plant abnormalities and equipment failures. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. Perform routine inspections such as, prepare oil analysis samples, safely using tools (e.g hot sticks, multimeter, and IR Camera). Assist with equipment operation training for contractors and other site employees. Manage and coordinate work on-site between different contractors, vendors and BESS service providers ensuring quality work, is completed safely and promptly.

 

  • Actively participate in the behavior-based safety program and ensure every team member and contractor complies with all safety procedures and applicable task-oriented job safety analyses
  • Ensure site safety rules are communicated and adhered to through Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Meetings
  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by utilizing established procedures

What You’ll Bring

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance with relevant academic qualifications and intimacy with financial statements
