As the Application Management Advisor based in Houston, TX we are looking for a senior-level, hands-on IT professional with the potential to grow into a future IT leadership role at ENGIE.  As an Application Management Advisor for our Energy Solutions business, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction and hands-on management. This position offers a unique opportunity for career advancement over the next few years.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Energy Solutions applications portfolio, driving its roadmap, and managing projects within a complex, matrixed organization. We’re seeking a versatile candidate who can navigate both information and operational technology landscapes effectively.

 

Reporting to the Application Management Director, your duties will include:

 

  • Overseeing all applications used within the Energy Solutions business, ensuring they align with organizational goals and deliver maximum value
  • Driving the execution of the data governance strategy, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance across all systems
  • Managing the complete lifecycle of applications, from planning and development to deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning
  • Optimizing application performance by identifying opportunities for improvement, enhancing efficiency, and elevating user experience
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure applications meet evolving business needs and support strategic objectives
  • Providing technical leadership in troubleshooting and resolving application-related issues
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation for application processes, procedures, and configurations to support transparency and efficiency
  • Staying ahead of industry trends and best practices in application management and integrating them into the organization's approach
  • Ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements for all applications to safeguard the organization’s operations

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.  In lieu of education requirements we will accept a combination of years of experience and other education experience for the role
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of proven expertise in application management, managing complex application portfolios including end-to-end lifecycle management (development, deployment, maintenance, and retirement)
  • Strong background in IT strategy and optimization, demonstrated ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and optimize performance to meet organizational goals
  • Hands-on experience in data governance, developing and executing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Familiarity with operational technology (OT) systems and the ability to effectively bridge IT and OT requirements
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects in matrixed organizations, within dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of security and compliance standards, including regulatory requirements and best practices for securing applications and data
  • Technical proficiency in application management tools, technologies, and frameworks, including familiarity with modern application architectures such as cloud-based solutions and microservices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing issues, analyzing complex data, and implementing innovative solutions
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning, with a passion for staying updated on emerging trends in IT and operational technology

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy consisting of in-office and work-from home opportunities
  • Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $119,595 – $199,290 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

What You Can Expect

As a Financial Reporting Advisor in Houston, you will report to the Financial Reporting Director and join the North America (“NorthAm”) consolidation team in the monthly and quarterly US GAAP and IFRS financial closing and reporting processes for ENGIE’s US and Canadian entities.

 

You will support the Global Business Services (“GBS”) accounting team in consolidations mechanics and account selection and the Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) team’s budget processes.  You will also manage certain cross-functional support activities, such as the annual internal control assessment, IT integration implementation, and maintaining financial reporting tools.

 

As a Financial Reporting Advisor, you will collaborate with NorthAm teams primarily located in Houston and Chicago and with ENGIE Group colleagues in Paris. US based stakeholders include the NorthAm GBS Accounting team, Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”), Technical Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Insurance, and the Acquisition Investment Financial Advisory (AIFA) investments valuations team. You will also work closely with the ENGIE Group Consolidation team and Group FP&A. You will be a key member of the NorthAm Finance function and will work extensively with external auditors validating ENGIE’s accounts.

 

Serve as the subject matter expert on the consolidated International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements

Advise GBS and AIFA and senior management on IFRS, US GAAP, and managerial financial reporting impacts of proposed and finalized transactions with the support of the Technical Accounting team

Submit IFRS reporting packages, off balance sheet disclosure packages, and financial forecast packages other essential information needed to compile full consolidated financials, disclosures, and analysis for ENGIE’s US and Canadian entities ensuring data validation controls are reviewed and enforced

Lead and ensure the accuracy of the financial data communicated via the consolidation processes in accordance with Group provided instructions and schedules including investment in subsidiaries, equity roll forwards, equity pick-ups, calculation of tax estimates, and intercompany reconciliations

Administer the highly critical SAP Financial Consolidation tool including planning, design, testing and implementation within a development and production site

Enforce and maintain all consolidation process internal controls

Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to senior management.

Respond to IFRS and US GAAP audit requests ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP requirements

Train and support operational and finance colleagues on IFRS and US GAAP compliance.

Participate in or lead cross-functional projects with FP&A such as IT tool development, process design, etc., as needed

 

 

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in finance and  accounting, or other related disciplines 

International Financial Reporting Standards and US GAAP knowledge

A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis

Significant consolidation accounting experience including understanding the consolidation scope, rules, controls, reports, and validations.

Working towards to a Certified Public Accounting (“CPA”) license or equivalent certification

Partnership reporting experience

Proficiency in SAP solutions (S4, SAC, BFC, Cartesis), Microsoft Excel, and/or Power BI

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and a drive for completion

The goal of the section is to explain everyday activities of someone who works in this role.  Convey the day-to-day impact and responsibilities of this is a highly motivated, creative, and results-oriented Senior Attorney of our Distributed Solar + Storage (DSS) team you will work with a broad range of responsibilities to support and facilitate a rapidly growing business. In this role, you’ll provide legal support across all aspects of the business unit, including origination, merger & acquisition, negotiations, contracts, titles, construction, and financing. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • You will be responsible for crafting and executing comprehensive legal strategies to facilitate DSS’s commercial objectives while mitigating legal risks
  • You must handle the drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements to support the development team’s activities
  • You must be able to proactively identify and resolving legal issues and areas of risk
  • You will oversee title work, resolve title issues, and manage the issuance of title insurance
  • You will review and negotiate finance agreements, including tax-equity finance and debt, and supporting activities related to financial closings

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must have a minimum Bachelor Degree, JD from an ABA-accredited law school, licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction and in good standing, with experience in drafting and commercial skills, technical and legal risk awareness, innovative deals and structuring, and transaction and project management skills

  • Must have interpersonal relationship skills, a commitment to professional and ethical standards, and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team

As a Senior Attorney of our Renewables Development (RGBU) team you will work with a broad range of responsibilities to support and facilitate a rapidly growing business. In this role, you’ll provide legal support across all aspects of the business unit, including origination, merger & acquisition, negotiations, contracts, titles, construction, and financing. Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • You will be responsible for crafting and executing comprehensive legal strategies to facilitate RGBU commercial objectives while mitigating legal risks
  • You must handle the drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements to support the development team’s activities
  • You must be able to proactively identify and resolving legal issues and areas of risk
  • You will oversee title work, resolve title issues, and manage the issuance of title insurance
  • You will review and negotiate finance agreements, including tax-equity finance and debt, and supporting activities related to financial closings

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must have a minimum Bachelor's Degree, JD from an ABA-accredited law school, licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction and in good standing, with experience in drafting and commercial skills, technical and legal risk awareness, innovative deals and structuring, and transaction and project management skills

  • Must have interpersonal relationship skills, a commitment to professional and ethical standards, and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team
  • Ability to flexibly adapt to changing priorities and demanding deadlines with minimal frustration, and to timely support multiple complex assignments with superior legal work products and/or practical legal advice
  • Demonstrate commercial understanding, good judgment on legal risk decisions, and know when to escalate issues
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, and familiarity with a range of structured finance transactions, including real estate, permitting, construction, and M&A

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; working in the office at least 3 days a week. 
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time

Compensation

Salary Range: $166,900 – $275,000 USD annually

What You Can Expect

Our Industrial Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining industrial control systems (ICS) and related operations technology (OT) network and support systems to ensure corporate objectives of operational efficiency and reliability are met for the Utility Network. This position is located at the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA

 

On a daily basis the Industrial Controls Engineer will primarily serve the Meters & Controls (M&C) department but may also provide support to the Campus’s Water Plant, Chilled Water Plant, Power Plants and Distribution systems. They will work with the senior controls and networking engineer and field (E&I) technicians to implement programming and/or repair of ICS and networking/support systems. They will provide review and input to design and construction plans for upgrades or expansions to ensure seamless integration of controls and facilitate the transfer of reliable data to the PI data analytics platform.

 

  • You will be responsible for addressing all tasks and fulfilling all responsibilities with a “safety first” mindset
  • You will be supporting development of controls masterplans to continuously improve and upgrade equipment with technology changes. You will develop, and review approved specifications, drawings, and technical documents for controls projects. You will write control sequence of operations to meet engineering designed specifications
  • You will specify control system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. You will be writing programs and developing graphics for industrial/utility systems that meet engineering designed specifications.  You will be researching, evaluating, and designing controls system and processes to facility specifications, applying knowledge of engineering principles
  •  You’ll be providing technical assistance to field technicians regarding project specific equipment and materials, assisting in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required.  You will communicate on a regular basis with co-workers on project teams and update supervisors on any ongoing concerns or issues

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Automation & Instrumentation, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field. With four (4) years of experience with industrial or utility control systems

Or

  •  A Bachelor’s of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology, or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with industrial or utility control systems
  • Our environment consists of Hirschmann industrial networking environments, Rosemont/Emerson instrumentation and controls, virtual server environments such as Nutanix (HCI – hyperconverged infrastructure), Microsoft network management and Windows operating systems, Emerson PACSystems & GE Cimplicity (HMI) controls systems experience in these or similar technology is required
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety principles in an industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of OT/ICS environments, platforms, systems, and applications
  • Strong sense of accountability, ownership, and responsibility
  • Proficient in standard OT/ICS (IEC 61121-3) programming languages and communications protocols
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft operating systems and office applications
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of operating technicians, peers, contractors, and design professionals
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory and decision making/critical thinking skills

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
