ENGIE is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Intern to join our Supply & Energy Management Power Origination team. The internship work term will be from June 2025 to August 2025, full-time work schedule working up to 40 hours per week.

 

As a Commercial Intern, you will support Power Trading through various analytical and research projects included, but not limited to, new interconnect request research and analysis, FTR auction analysis, historical system pricing and load analysis, REC coordination, and other fundamental research and analysis.  You will also assist in development of internal and external presentations.

What You Can Expect

As a Water Plant Operator Trainee, you will help operate and maintain water treatment systems across the University of Iowa, ensuring high-quality water through processes like chlorination, filtration, and UV disinfection. You'll assist with sampling, flushing, equipment maintenance, and compliance reporting while supporting systems at the Oakdale Plant, MacBride Recreation Area, and various campus sites.

 

  • Collect water samples for regulatory testing and ensure accurate data entry for compliance and billing

  • Track water quality and system performance using computer-based tools and complete assigned tasks through the work order system

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain State of Iowa Department of Health and Human Services Certified Pool Operator Certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Ability to obtain a State of Iowa Department of Natural Resources Grade 1 Water Treatment and Grade 1 Distribution certification within 2 years of employment
  • Ability to complete one-year operational experience in the area applying: water treatment, water distribution, wastewater or complete a minimum of six months operational experience in the area applying and earn 30 hours of Post High School Training (3 CEUs)

Your mission   

As a Hardware Qualification Engineer, you will contribute to the operation and lifetime extension of nuclear power plants by ensuring the qualification of critical instrumentation equipment. You will play a key role in identifying obsolete components, evaluating alternatives, and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.

 

Your key responsibilities  

  • Support utilities in identifying obsolete components through supplier contacts, stock analysis, etc.
  • Manage communication with suppliers to evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Research substitute products and validate design changes for nuclear safety.
  • Draft technical specifications and purchasing requisition files.
  • Follow up on factory acceptance tests and review manufacturer records.
  • Oversee the hardware qualification process for instrumentation equipment.
  • Develop qualification programs and justifications based on current standards.
  • Select and coordinate with test laboratories.
  • Supervise qualification tests and analyze results.
  • Present and defend hardware qualification before the Client and Belgian Nuclear Safety Authority.
  • Conduct technical audits of qualified equipment suppliers in Belgium and abroad.

 We would love to hear from people with  

  • Academic Qualifications: Civil/Industrial Engineer in Electricity, Electronics, Electromechanics, or a related field..
  • Technical Expertise: You have a strong understanding of electricity, instrumentation, and quality assurance, with knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements. Experience in nuclear, industrial, railway, or aeronautical safety sectors (4+ years preferred) is highly valued. You are familiar with the qualification process for instrumentation equipment, including component testing, factory acceptance tests, and compliance evaluations. Your ability to assess design changes and ensure their alignment with nuclear safety requirements makes you a key asset in maintaining operational excellence.
  • Analytical Skills: You have a keen eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solving, allowing you to assess design changes, component obsolescence, and compliance with nuclear safety standards. Your ability to analyze complex technical data, interpret industry regulations, and evaluate alternative solutions ensures informed decision-making. You excel at identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and presenting clear, evidence-based justifications to stakeholders, including clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Language Proficiency: You are fluent in English, with proficiency in French and/or Dutch being a strong asset..

About the Role:

 

A Project Development Officer (Large Scale Solar) plays a key role in the planning and execution of large scale solar energy projects across Malaysia during development phase. The candidate will have experience in the development of large-scale solar energy projects, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve project goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high level project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation for large-scale solar energy projects.

  • Initiate and manage relevant feasibility studies to support project proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, legal, health & safety, and asset management, to ensure successful project development till ready to build status.
  • Prepare project proposals, progress reports, and financial summaries to management and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project success.
  • Ensure proper governance is being followed, and compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies (SEDA, TNB, MIDA, and EC), corporate off-takers, landowners, technology providers and EPCs.
  • Support internal approval process and management approval papers.
  • Support in pipeline reporting to ensure data is complete, correct and up to date.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in solar energy.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy,  or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project management within the large scale solar energy sector.
  • Familiarity with Malaysia’s energy market, regulations and policies related to renewable energy, Large Scale Solar regulations, and Power Purchase Agreement structures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, coordination and collaboration skills. Fluent in English both in writing and communication.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across functions.
  • Good understanding of financial model analysis, due diligence reports, and contracts.

Within the Network & Cybersecurity Services (NCS) division of GBS IT, the Network And Connectivity (NAC) department is composed of the SDM Team, the Expertise Team and the Network Operating Center (NOC) team.

The NOC serves as the operational hub for our Network and Security infrastructures. Our mission is to ensure performance and security across all network and security infrastructures, whether they are in data centers, the cloud, or remote sites (examples: ‘Highway to Cloud’ interconnection infrastructures in AWS/Azure, Cloud Proxy and VPN services with ‘Zscaler,’ Software-Defined WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi services, etc.).

 

The NOC, consisting of over 40 professionals, is structured into two distinct yet complementary teams:

  • NOC Back Office: This team of technical experts focuses on the day-to-day operation of services.
  • NOC Front Office: This team provides crucial support to the Back Office, focusing on industrialization, process management, and operational oversight of infrastructure and managed services.

 

What you will do:

          Incident Management:

  • You will gather needed information from other services (Service Desk and Global Coordination Center), check the priority level (impact and urgency), check the impacted service/customer, and work with the monitoring team to improve the quality of the data in incident tickets. You will assign the ticket to the right L1/L2/L2 level.
  • You will link multiple incidents together when a common root cause can be identified.
  • You will perform the first technical analysis of devices’ status and launch first actions regarding on-site checks with local contacts when necessary (device unreachable).
  • You will create incidents in providers’ portal when necessary (mainly regarding telco providers’ link).
  • You will permanently check the monitoring tools to ensure that every critical alarm is linked to an active incident ticket.
  • You will create new incident tickets when necessary (detection with monitoring tools or customer’s direct request).
  • You will escalate/assign tickets towards Level 2 or Level 3 of the NOC when necessary.
  • You will work with the network tooling team to improve monitoring quality.

 

          Change Management:

  • You will implement basic and simple changes based on a Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).
  • You will assign any other request to Level 2 or Level 3 of the NOC when necessary.

 

 

Desired education, expertise, and skills: 

  •  
  • Basic knowledge of networks’ fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, difference between network devices);
  • Monitoring tool usage (Spectrum, Cacti, Syslog, etc.);
  • Working experience in Ticketing Systems (e.g.: Service Now);
  • Working experience with Cisco LAN, Wifi;
  • DNS, DHCP basic operations;
  • ITIL certifications;
