This position is based within GBS IT in Bucharest. As a developer, you will play an important role in developing solutions helping speedup Network & Security projects deployment and enabling self-service provisioning to facilitate the consumption of the services provided by NAC department.

 

This reorganization puts the focus first on what the team does and its objectives, then explains where it fits in the organization, making it easier for candidates to understand the role's purpose before getting into the organizational details.

 

 

What you will do:

          Build and Go to run:

  • Development Stack: You will write and maintain backend services using Python with modern frameworks, and develop frontend applications using JavaScript/TypeScript (using React JS). Ensure code quality through testing and documentation.
  • Serverless Architecture: You will develop and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS serverless services. Ensure scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): You will use Terraform and Terragrunt to manage and provision infrastructure. Ensure that all infrastructure changes are version-controlled and auditable.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): You will implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and automated deployment processes.
  • Security Best Practices: You will apply security best practices in all stages of development and deployment. Use AWS IAM, security groups, and other AWS security services to protect resources.

 

          Documentation and Training:

  • Comprehensive Documentation: You will create and maintain detailed documentation for all developed solutions, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and user manuals. Use tools like Confluence or GitHub README.
  • Knowledge Sharing: You will conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops within the team to ensure all members are up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Onboarding Guides: You will prepare onboarding guides for new team members to help them quickly understand the team's processes, tools, and technologies.

 

          Participate to team meetings:

  • Daily Stand-ups: Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings to provide updates on your progress, discuss any blockers, and align with the team's goals.
  • Backlog Refinement: Engage in backlog refinement sessions to discuss tasks comprehension and align target designs within the team.
  • Sprint Planning: Contribute to sprint planning meetings by estimating effort, discussing task assignments, and planning the work for the upcoming sprint.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code review sessions to provide constructive feedback, ensure code quality, and share best practices with team members.
  • Technical Discussions: Join technical discussions and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas, solve complex problems, and innovate on new solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure alignment on project goals, share knowledge, and leverage expertise from different areas.

 

 

Desired education, expertise, and skills: 

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • At least 2 years of technical experience in software development and DevOps in complex AWS context;
  • AWS Associate-level certification is preferred (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator);
  • Previous working experuience on the following:
    • Python;
    • TypeScript / JavaScript (ReactJS);
    • AWS Lambda functions;
    • AWS DynamoDB;
    • AWS API Gateway;

Within the Network & Cybersecurity Services (NCS) division of GBS IT, the Network And Connectivity (NAC) department is composed of the SDM Team, the Expertise Team and the Network Operating Center (NOC) team.

The NOC serves as the operational hub for our Network and Security infrastructures. Our mission is to ensure performance and security across all network and security infrastructures, whether they are in data centers, the cloud, or remote sites (examples: ‘Highway to Cloud’ interconnection infrastructures in AWS/Azure, Cloud Proxy and VPN services with ‘Zscaler,’ Software-Defined WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi services, etc.).

 

The NOC, consisting of over 40 professionals, is structured into two distinct yet complementary teams:

  • NOC Back Office: This team of technical experts focuses on the day-to-day operation of services.
  • NOC Front Office: This team provides crucial support to the Back Office, focusing on industrialization, process management, and operational oversight of infrastructure and managed services.

 

What you will do:

          Incident Management:

  • You will gather needed information from other services (Service Desk and Global Coordination Center), check the priority level (impact and urgency), check the impacted service/customer, and work with the monitoring team to improve the quality of the data in incident tickets. You will assign the ticket to the right L1/L2/L2 level.
  • You will link multiple incidents together when a common root cause can be identified.
  • You will perform the first technical analysis of devices’ status and launch first actions regarding on-site checks with local contacts when necessary (device unreachable).
  • You will create incidents in providers’ portal when necessary (mainly regarding telco providers’ link).
  • You will permanently check the monitoring tools to ensure that every critical alarm is linked to an active incident ticket.
  • You will create new incident tickets when necessary (detection with monitoring tools or customer’s direct request).
  • You will escalate/assign tickets towards Level 2 or Level 3 of the NOC when necessary.
  • You will work with the network tooling team to improve monitoring quality.

 

          Change Management:

  • You will implement basic and simple changes based on a Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).
  • You will assign any other request to Level 2 or Level 3 of the NOC when necessary.

Compensation

Salary Range: $131,000 – $200,790 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a four (4) year degree with a focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in IT Infrastructure management
  • Must be knowledgeable of Windows Server, Active Directory, and client systems (Windows and Mac)
  • Experience with Fortinet firewalls or other network security technologies
  • Proficiency in networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and VMware vSphere
  • Experience in M&A activities, including IT integration and due diligence

 

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record

Compensation

Salary Range: $131,000 – $200,790 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

What You Can Expect

As our Senior Accountant – Trade Settlements, you will play a key role in managing and confirming settlement activity with trading counterparties. You will oversee invoice preparation, payment processing, and serve as the primary liaison between trading counterparties, as well as middle and front office personnel. Additionally, you will participate in daily, weekly, and monthly settlement of physical, financial, and pipeline trading activities and provide essential support for audits, management reporting, and other business unit requests.

 

  • Prepare invoices for multiple commodities to send to counterparties
  • Settle all third party transactions per contractual terms
  • Liaise with counterparties should any discrepancies occur with the settlement activity and seek resolution
  • Work with traders, schedulers, and Trade Control regarding variance with the settlement activity received from the counterparties
  • Prepare payment requests for settlement activity

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics, with a strong focus on financial transactions and data analysis
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the energy industry or related sectors such as commodities, financial services, or trading operations
  • You have a strong understanding of energy standards related to commodity settlements
  • You are knowledgeable in monitoring financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • You have expertise in tracking daily cash flow, ensuring settlement amounts are paid or received as expected
  • You are information-curious, consistently reviewing Aligne to confirm actualizations are completed and align with settled amounts
  • You are experienced in updating cash flow records daily, reflecting actual inflows and outflows while providing accurate forecasts.
  • You process requests for settled activity from auditors and other business units as instructed
  • You work closely with the financial accounting group to resolve variances, ensuring month-end deadlines are met
  • You act as a backup for team members when necessary, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational efficiency

Salary Range: $74,900 – $114,770 USD annually
