What You Can Expect

ENGIE’s Asset Management team manages a fleet of >8.4 GW of grid-scale Wind, Solar & Storage assets in multiple Independent System Operators (ISO’s) in the U.S. (ERCOT, SPP, PJM, MISO, CAISO) and Canada. The portfolio under management is expected to grow by more than 1 GW/year over the next decade with an expansion in new ISO’s and new technologies.

As an integral part of this team, the Asset Management Advisor manages a set of assets holistically. Asset Management includes the management of commercial strategies including the coordination of implementation of those strategies, development, and coordination of asset optimization projects, tracking of profitability of the asset, contract understanding, landowner relationships, and general overall operational purview.  The Asset Management Advisor will have multiple assets under management potentially in different ISOs and different technologies (onshore Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) assets).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Profit & Loss (P&L) for assets under management: Analyze P&L statements to identify key performance drivers and develop action plans to implement to optimize financial outcomes. Build and maintain gross margin assumptions for each asset to support annual business planning, business interruption insurance, and internal forecasting. Oversee and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with the company’s financial objectives. Collaborate with ENGIE Trading / Energy Management teams to define and provide a risk mandate for daily market bidding activities. Optimize financial performance of assets through strategic oversight and data-driven decision-making. Identify and pursue commercial opportunities to enhance value creation and overall asset profitability
  • Contract Management: Oversee all contract negotiations, invoicing, and payments, including managing (Power Purchase Agreements (PPA’s), relationship management, Asset Management Agreements (AMAs) and Operations & Maintenance Agreements (OMAs), Equipment purchase and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA’s), and Landowner payment management
  • Operations & Maintenance Planning: Monitor asset KPIs to drive operational improvements and align maintenance schedules with operational and commercial goals
  • ISO & Regulatory Coordination: Responsible for leading on ISO protocols, regulation, and market fundamentals, and engaging subject matter experts as required
  • Stakeholder Management: Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reporting for individual assets, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reports to management and partnership team, and ensure a high level of collaboration with other teams leveraging our organization capabilities (Operations, Finance, Legal, Trading, Power Marketing, and other organizational stakeholders)

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or similar technical or analytics-based program
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in asset management, energy markets, or in related energy sector (electricity, power, or renewables)
  • Commercial acumen with good understanding of business principles, contracts, and relationships including specific experience with power purchase agreements (PPAs) and operational agreements
  • Comprehensive understanding of energy market operations
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Excel, and experience with dashboards and database visualization software (PowerBI, SQL)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholders, along with good written and verbal communication abilities, and a desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $113,900 - $174,570 USD annually

  • Support Development Activities: Manage and drive development of utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects from feasibility to construction, including environmental assessments, permitting, interconnection, land acquisition, and design
  • Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, and departments such as pre-construction, engineering, and project delivery to achieve renewable energy goals
  • Engage Stakeholders: Engage with consultants, landowners, and stakeholders, attend public hearings, and ensure effective communication throughout the development process
  • Research and Compliance: Stay updated on industry developments, tax incentives, and technologies; manage permit applications and interactions with local, state, and federal agencies, including Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) submittals, and remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities and industry trends
  • Financial and Administrative Support: Develop project model underwriting assumptions, support off-take origination efforts, financing, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) discussions, prepare investment materials, and review pro forma financial models to understand how returns are impacted, and maintain database tracking project progress

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration, Finance, Energy, Economics, or a related field of study in which you have project development, permitting/planning, project management, or business development experience

What You Can Expect
ENGIE North America is hiring a Battery Storage Technician for our Five Wells Solar / Storage project located near Rogers, TX.   

Your daily responsibilities begin with performing High Voltage (HV) switching, substation, and HV equipment lockouts and grounding tasks. Demonstrate the consistent use of Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques when solving plant abnormalities and equipment failures. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. Perform routine inspections such as, prepare oil analysis samples, safely using tools (e.g hot sticks, multimeter, and IR Camera). Assist with equipment operation training for contractors and other site employees. Manage and coordinate work on-site between different contractors, vendors and BESS service providers ensuring quality work, is completed safely and promptly.

 

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • You may be required to assist solar technicians with repairing, troubleshooting, and completing technical repair work orders for solar inverters as needed
  • Actively participate in the behavior-based safety program and ensure every team member and contractor complies with all safety procedures and applicable task-oriented job safety analyses
  • Ensure site safety rules are communicated and adhered to through Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Meetings
  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by utilizing established procedures
  • Ensure site equipment is kept at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures
  • Perform the housekeeping functions and equipment cleaning necessary to maintain the site in a clean and neat condition
  • Recommend operating and/or maintenance changes that will enhance plant performance and availability


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED or a diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/DC current, electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in any or BESS sites, Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Thermal power plants, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Instrumentation Maintenance
  • Proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
  • Must be available to travel domestically to support other support operations at other ENGIE Renewable Generation ( Solar, Wind and Storage sites

This Environmental Development and Permitting Intern role is an opportunity to work with a Global Leader in Renewables Development. The Environmental Intern will work to support ENGIE’s Development Pipeline in North America and help to ensure that Projects are following best management practices (BMPs) to minimize environmental impacts and maximize biodiversity value of commercial-scale Renewables Projects.

In this role the Intern will support biodiversity studies, surveys, and micrositing efforts to minimize wildlife and wetland impacts, and support the Senior Advisor on compliance obligations, preparing development projects for construction-stage efforts, and support the pursuit of federal and state permits where necessary. The Intern will have the opportunity to coordinate with a variety of cross-functional teams, including Legal, Land Use, and Engineering obligations.

  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings, and site visits to wind and/or solar sites

As the Ecological Restoration / Vegetation Management Advisor you will ensure that ecological restoration and vegetation management strategies are developed, implemented and effectively maintained across all ENGIE Renewables sites responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Keep up to date with innovation and industry best practices and acting as subject matter expert in relation to ecological restoration, vegetation management, agrivoltaics (such as sheep grazing), pollinator habitat and other related activities
  • Ensure sites remain compliant with regulatory requirements, planning consents and land lease obligations along with any other such requirements. Including the tracking and closure of consent and licensing conditions
  • Conduct ecological restoration related fieldwork, including assessment of site conditions, noxious weed mapping, storm water pollution prevention planning, auditing of restoration works and restoration monitoring to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Work closing with teams across development, construction and operations and maintenance to develop ecologically minded site restoration strategies / specifications, including seed mixes, biodiversity enhancements, monitoring protocols, and vegetation maintenance plans for use during a project’s planning, construction, and operations phases
  • Draft technical memos and reports, along with other project support materials as needed
  • Identification and assessment of suitably qualified and experienced vegetation management contractors, drafting of scopes along with the tendering, letting and day to day management of contracts
  • Communicate effectively regarding the scope and schedule of restoration and vegetation management activities to be performed, onsite along with ongoing monitoring and maintenance required by site teams
  • Assessment and approval of weed abatement treatments for use on site including pesticides and herbicides

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in restoration ecology, natural resource management, environmental science, conservation biology, or ecology. With a minimum of seven (7) years post education experience in vegetation management and/or ecological restoration
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently and interact professionally and respectfully with project managers, site managers, contractors, landowners, and regulatory bodies

  • This role will be based in the Houston, TX office

The Senior Estimator is responsible for estimating Balance of Plant costs (BOP) for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Understanding construction costs is vital to the success of the project and plays a key role during all phases of project development and implementation. The Senior Estimator provides estimates and pricing information for all facets of renewable project construction.

  • Prepare budgetary and indicative BOP construction estimates for wind, solar, and BESS projects by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
  • Develop unit pricing based on production rates and subcontractor input, and man-hour data, incorporating historical data from estimates, cost data, indexes, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, and review major equipment specifications to determine cost impacts associated with new technology
  • Interface with owner, contractor, design team, and project managers to provide cost data regarding project feasibility
  • Review third party pricing proposals for accuracy and gaps

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience estimating BOP costs for utility scale wind, solar, and BESS projects, with a proven track record of estimating construction project costs
  • Estimating experience with Heavy Bid and other heavy construction related estimating software, electronic cost data, e.g., RSMeans, and Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • GIS, AutoCAD, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain a network or building material suppliers and vendors, and review maps, conceptual diagrams, specifications, engineering drawings, equipment specifications, to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  • Commitment to the advancement of renewable energy solutions across North America

What You Can Expect

The SCADA Engineering Advisor, will manage all aspects of the renewable project engineering design and commissioning oversight activities for utility-scale renewables projects (wind, solar, and energy storage) throughout the US and Canada and serve as an innovative subject matter expert and leader.

In this role the SCADA Engineering Advisor will lead the development of ENGIE North America generation SCADA specifications, including SCADA, PPC, and EMS architecture to be implemented in new project under development process. Additionally, responsible for the SCADA, PV network engineering design drawings reviews and commissioning planning of renewable energy projects (including Wind, Solar PV, and Energy Storage). Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Leadership: Oversee engineering design and commissioning for utility-scale renewable projects (wind, solar, energy storage) across the US and Canada. Act as a subject matter expert and leader, collaborating with internal departments and external partners throughout the project lifecycle
  • SCADA Specifications & Design: Develop SCADA, PPC, and EMS architecture for new projects. Review SCADA and PV network engineering design drawings and plan commissioning for renewable energy projects
  • Subject Matter Expertise & Commissioning: Lead as the SCADA and Controls expert, manage assigned projects, provide advice on SCADA options in contracts, and assist in commissioning renewable energy projects, including hands-on work if needed
  • Coordination & Standards: Coordinate the development and oversight of ENGIE Renewable SCADA systems, update standards based on lessons learned, and review design submittals with EPC and owners' engineers. Evaluate communication and metering requirements in Interconnection Agreements
  • System Integration & Cyber Security: Manage SCADA points and controls coordination among various systems and stakeholders including: QSE, Utility, RTO/ISO, substation RTU/IED’s, revenue/check metering, PV/Wind/BESS PPC/EMS and collection system (inverters/PCS, met stations, trackers etc), internal SCADA/IT network and data aggregation systems. Support the implementation of the ENGIE Industrial Control System - Cyber Security framework and manage external engineering firms and subcontractors for project execution

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation and Controls, Electrical is preferred from an ABET- accredited university or comparable field of study, technical knowledge through demonstrated work experience with a solid understanding of Automation & Control, SCADA design for power generation plants, and/or utility systems
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in similar positions, designing and/or commissioning renewable energy projects and producing standards, specifications, documentation, and in the day-to-day interactions with project development and construction teams
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly valued. However, we welcome candidates with equivalent experience or other relevant certifications
  • PMI Certification is highly valued. However, we welcome candidates with equivalent experience or other relevant certifications
