What You Can Expect

The Project Developer, Senior will lead the development activities for all ENGIE distributed solar and storage projects, guiding them from site control to Notice to Proceed (NTP) for greenfield sites, origination projects, and M&A initiatives throughout the United States. Key responsibilities include land acquisition, permitting, environmental reviews, and other facets of solar energy and storage project development to help achieve the company's renewable energy goals and growth strategy in North America.

Everyday you will direct and manage both internal and external subject matter experts to ensure the successful completion of land acquisition, environmental assessments, local/state/federal permitting, interconnection, real estate, and design activities. Additionally, you will assist in activities related to M&A opportunities initiated by the team.

  • Facilitate strategic meetings with customers, landowners, and local/state/regional stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the development process
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on project updates and solar market policies to customers, landowners, potential off-takers, government officials, and corporate supporters
  • Help create new tools and trackers to monitor development progress and manage data effectively

Compensation

Salary Range: $83,000 – $120,865 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Construction Director will be responsible for:

  • Implementing HSSE program and supervision in the Project Company and Owner’s team and leading the HSSE culture at the site in conformity with Project Company and Stakeholder targets
  • Delivering the asset on time, on budget and to the required standards of health, safety, environment and quality by fulfilling contractual requirements and design specs and to deliver 20 years of reliable and sustainable operation.
  • Monitoring, coordinating and reporting multiple Contractors’ activities at site and during the design review phase, construction and commissioning phase, as well as challenging and negotiating with the main contractor’s and Key Equipment Suppliers when deviations arise, with a view to defend the best interest of the Project Company and ENGIE.
  • Directing the Owner’s Engineer team at site.
  • Ensuring a smooth and timely completion of all interface activities/information exchanges between all stakeholders (including but not limited to project partners, local communities, land owners and external parties).

 

  •  3.1 Reporting

The Construction Director will be seconded to the Project Company and will report directly to the CEO of the Project Company. This person will also have Engie group construction reporting requirements to fulfil applicable reporting functions within the group.

 

3.2  Key  Accountabilities

  • Will follow up on plant construction together with the assistance of the Owner’s Engineer to ensure that it is performed properly in terms of quality, schedule, and budget, in line with respective Agreements of each Contractor, the PPA and any other relevant project agreement.
  • Has responsibility for HSSE implementation in the Project Company and Owner’s team and in leading Developer’s strict HSSE culture at the site, with the support of HSSE Manager.
  • Monitors the work at site and liaises and coordinates the efforts of the Owner’s Engineer, local contractors, local authorities, Lender Technical Advisor, interface partners and the Contractors as Owner’s Single Point of Contact (SPOC) on site.
  • Manages the technical and schedule interfaces between the different contractors and ensuring they are aligned in conformity with the contracts and the needs of the project.
  • Organizes and chairs the construction and progress management meetings with all the contractors to handle progress and all outstanding issues.
  • Reviews and consolidates all site related information to ensure all reporting requirements are done correctly by the site teams and reviews by the construction manager’s and construction director is done before submitting to the CEO of the Project Company / Project Director.
  • Respect governance rules and delegation of authority as decided in the Shareholder agreements.
  • Timely reports technical variances to the CEO of the Project Company and proposes jointly with the Owners Engineer mitigation and alternative solutions.
  • Report and present issues related to construction and commissioning during Project Company Board meetings and any other similar forums.
  • Ensure that any agreed corrective actions to mitigate the impacts of any variances are planned and implemented.
  • Will monitor and keep updated the overall construction schedule of the Project by integrating the Contractors’ schedules with the schedule of permits, authorizations to be obtained, and other contractual obligations to be fulfilled. Using Primavera to update and consolidate project schedules (Contractor’s and Key Equipment Suppliers) and inform all project stakeholders of the integrated project schedules.
  • Will lead technical and contractual meetings with the Contractors, Off taker, utility suppliers, environmental authorities, and any other key stakeholders.
  • Will timely review the organization & logistics implemented during construction phase to avoid delays.
  • Will direct the work of the Owner Engineer during design review, construction and commissioning supervision and assess/manage their performance. Will chair selected design review, construction and commissioning meetings with Contractors and Owner’s Engineer and take technical decisions with the support of the Owner’s Engineer.
  • Will review the commissioning procedures received from the Contractors.
  • Will issue the commissioning procedures on behalf of the Project Company based on the Contractors’ procedures.
  • Will understand all contractual test procedures, particularly Performance Test procedures/reports and coordinate/issue reports to the Off taker with the support of Owner’s Engineer based on Contractors’ reports.
  • Works in partnership with the Project Company’s HSSE Officer(s) to ensure the Contractors implements HSSE measures onsite and offsite in accordance with the contract and local legislation.
  • Will assist the Project Company CEO in contractual/commercial issues under the PPA.
  • Will analyse request for any change/variation orders received from the Contractors and Service Providers and provide recommendations to the Project Company CEO.
  • Will handle technical issues onsite and offsite during the construction period with support from the Owner’s Engineer and advise.
  • Will interact and assist wherever required with the Lender’s Engineer, Insurance Advisers, and Operation & Maintenance teams, or their representatives on contractual obligations which the Projects are responsible to comply with.
  • Will issue weekly and monthly progress reports to the Project Company as well as comply with Engie Group reporting requirements.
  • Will write technical memorandum summarizing issues as and when occurred during design review and construction phases.
  • Will supervise the issuance of the milestone completion certificates, invoices, mechanical completion certificates and punch list of the different contractors.
  • Will be a co-signatory on all site related expenses/invoices acting in accordance with all company financial, legal and ethical requirements.
  • Will formally handover the Project to the Operation and Maintenance Team and ensure smooth mobilization of and transition to the O&M Company.
  • Will host various internal and external visitors at site (developer, partners, lenders, authorities, etc.) and write formal communications or technical letters to the stakeholders (off-takers, contractors, suppliers etc.)
  • Is responsible for the management of the site office of the Project Company including use thereof by the Owner’s Engineer.
  • Shall work in close collaboration with Project Company CEO and Engie teams.
  • Will manage the relationship with the local communities and actively drive the social performance initiatives supporting the social performance teams and the Projects Economic development obligations.
  • Will ensure that all economic development commitments made at bid submission are achieved

 

   3.3 Contractual/Commercial

  • Will be very familiar with IPP project structures, project finance documents, utility-scale EPC contracts and PPAs
  • Timely reports all contractual/commercial variances to the CEO of the Project Company and proposes mitigation or alternative solution.
  • Will assist CEO in writing contractual letters to all Contractor’s, suppliers,  Off taker and other interested and involved stakeholders.
  • Will identify/anticipate deliverables to be given to the Off taker, authorities, sponsors and lenders in due course.
  • Will issue the letters to the Off taker concerning contractual obligations under the Offtake agreements.
  • Will coordinate smooth progress of commissioning and testing with the Off taker and Dispatch Control Centre.
  • Will assist the Project Company in claims management to and from the Contractors and any other Service Providers.

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Degree / Experience

  • University Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering.
  • Additional qualifications and registrations would be advantageous (HSE, project management, finance, business management).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of project and site experience in utility scale power generation projects.
  • Extensive  knowledge of renewable energy sources, construction of power plants and associated technical and contractual understanding.
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields:
  • Energy Industry
    • Large infrastructure project development

Dirigir y controlar la implementación y ejecución de los proyectos de Transmisión definidos en la cartera para la GBU de Networks para Engie Chile, desde la etapa final del desarrollo, durante la ejecución y hasta su entrega efectiva al área de O&M, asegurando la correcta implementación de la gestión de contratos, ingeniería, construcción, QA/QC y comisionamiento, manteniendo los estándares de calidad y seguridad, contribuyendo a la rentabilidad, crecimiento y equilibrio de la compañía, de acuerdo con los KPI´s, gestión, políticas, procedimientos y presupuestos definidos por la GBU.

 

El Senior Manager of Transmission Projects desempeñará un rol estratégico, gestionando más de 14 proyectos y liderando un equipo compuesto por más de 64 personas. Además, será necesario reportar a diversos países, incluyendo Francia, Estados Unidos y Brasil.

 

Funciones:

  • Generar el compromiso del personal de la dirección con las acciones estratégicas de la compañía, con el fin de lograr la realización de trabajos bajo estándares de productividad y calidad, promoviendo y generando una cultura de trabajo participativo y de mejoramientos continuos en la administración de su Gerencia.

 

  • Dirigir y controlar la implementación de procesos de organización, planificación, gestión y control y ejecución de los proyectos, con el fin de garantizar el cumplimiento de los objetivos definidos en términos de alcances, tiempo, seguridad, calidad, plazo, costos y sustentabilidad, entre otros, aportando con la experiencia para la optimización de la constructibilidad.

 

  • Impulsar y promover las acciones y planes relacionadas con la equidad e igualdad de género impulsadas por la GBU, con el fin de asegurar el cumplimiento de los KPI´s definidos por el grupo.

 

  • Definir y controlar el plan de gestión de calidad para los proyectos, con el fin de garantizar la ejecución de las acciones contenidas en el plan calidad, monitoreando el cumplimiento de las procesos y requerimientos de control y calidad en la organización, contratistas, proveedores y futuras licitaciones de la empresa, contribuyendo en la difusión e implementación de lineamientos y estándares corporativos.

 

  • Dirigir y controlar las etapas de puesta en marcha de los proyectos, con el fin de garantizar la implementación de las acciones, realizando las verificaciones y comprobaciones de todos los sistemas y componentes de la planta en cada una de las actividades de diseño, instalados, testeados y operados, de acuerdo a los requerimientos del proyecto, velando por una operación segura y confiable desde el término de la construcción mecánica y hasta la entrega del activo a Operaciones, acorde al modelo de inversión del plan de activos renovables, tomando en cuenta las buenas prácticas de la industria, la normativa local e internacional y las políticas y prácticas de la empresa.

 

  • Participar en la definición de las estrategias de contratación y en la selección y evaluación de contratistas, con fin de garantizar la correcta ejecución de los proyectos de la GBU, de acuerdo con los estándares definidos, optimo desempeño y un alto nivel de competencias para la cartera de activos transmisión, optimizando los plazos y contribuyendo a la competitividad de la cartera de activos transmisión greenfield, brownfield y M&A.

 

  • Coordinar con las áreas de soporte de EECL y con la PMO el apoyo y nivel de servicio requerido por los proyectos, con el fin de garantizar el cumplimiento de los objetivos de control, ética, medio ambiente y otros definidos por la GBU.

 

  • Dirigir y controlar el presupuesto de inversiones (accountability) para garantizar la asignación, ejecución y priorización de recursos, colaborando con la generación de los reportes de gestión, generando las medidas correctivas ante desviaciones. Permanente control y follow-up de la implementación.

 

Requisitos del cargo:

  • Formación académica: Ingeniería Civil / Eléctrica / Electrónica / Electromecánica /Mecánica o similar con probada experiencia en el área de negocios del cargo.
  • Manejo de Gestión de Proyectos.
  • Manejo de Normativa de Seguridad Laboral y Ambiental.
  • Conocimientos técnicos de Transmisión y Generación.
  • Office nivel avanzado.
  • Inglés y Español avanzado escrito y hablado.
  • Al menos 15 años en el rubro de construcción y dirección de proyectos.
  • Probada experiencia en construcción de líneas de transmisión HV (66-110-220-500 KV).
  • Probada experiencia en construcción de subestaciones encapsuladas y abiertas.
  • Experiencia en construcción o desarrollo de HVD es un plus.
  • Al menos 20 años en experiencia laboral total.

Power Congestion Analytics and System Planning Manager

Supervisar y coordinar el desarrollo y la ejecución de los proyectos operaciones que involucran las inversiones para la modernización de los activos de Transmisión; adecuaciones, mejoras, cambios, retiros y, en general, cualquier modificación a las instalaciones en explotación de la Gerencia de Transmisión para ENGIE Energía, con el fin de asegurar la implementación de los planes de inversión, asegurando el cumplimiento de los cronogramas, y estándares de calidad de las actividades en cada una de sus fases, contribuyendo a la generación de ahorros, tanto en recursos económicos como en el tiempo de trabajo, minimizando desviaciones por falta de información o conocimiento de los procesos, manteniendo la disponibilidad de las instalaciones, la continuidad operacional y la calidad de servicios, promoviendo una cultura de trabajo participativa y de mejoramiento continuo en la generación de las acciones, de acuerdo con los estándares de calidad, seguridad, y medio ambiente definidos por el grupo.

 

Funciones:

  • Participar en la definición, en conjunto con las áreas usuarias, el alcance y objetivos de cada proyecto operacional, y las necesidades de recursos técnicos y económicos, con el fin lograr la entrega del registro de alcance y objetivo del proyecto (Project Charter) a todos los involucrados del proyecto, identificando los riesgos que afecten al cumplimiento de los proyectos y proponiendo planes de acción o acciones correctivas que permitan mitigar los eventuales retrasos del proyecto, a fin de asegurar el fiel cumplimiento del Plan. (establece lineamientos para asegurar lo mismo).

 

  • Revisar y validar las especificaciones técnicas y las bases de licitación para los Proyectos Operacionales, con el fin de asegurar consistencia en los diseños, de acuerdo con los estándares y criterios de diseño definidos para los activos de Transmisión.

 

  • Programar y supervisar la ejecución de los trabajos, con el fin de lograr el cumplimiento normativo, para el cumplimiento del presupuesto y los plazos, dirigiendo las coordinaciones necesarias entre las áreas internas involucradas y la empresa ejecutante.

 

  • Responsable de la administración de los contratos de servicios para la ejecución de los proyectos, con el fin de lograr los cambios de alcance y las variaciones del presupuesto, coordinándose con los proveedores respectivos y resguardando el cumplimiento del presupuesto asignado.

 

  • Supervisar y coordinar los procesos de actualización y almacenamiento de los documentos y registros en los sitios digitales o físicos, con el fin de lograr la entrega de la documentación técnica final a cliente interno o para disposición y presentar ante autoridad eléctrica.

 

Requisitos del cargo:

  • Formación académica: Ingeniería Civil Eléctrica, Industrial, Eléctrica, o carrera a fín.
  • Conocimientos en construcción, supervisión y montaje de equipamiento de sistemas eléctricos de potencia en subestaciones.
  • Conocimientos en construcción de líneas de transmisión.
  • Deseable certificación PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Manejo de Autocad y Microsoft Project.
  • Manejo en Administración y ejecución de contratos.
  • Manejo en Gestión del Riesgo en Proyectos.
  • Manejo de Indicadores de Gestión Activos.
  • Ingles intermedio, deseable avanzado para sostener reuniones en inglés y elaboración de documentos técnicos.
  • Experiencia mínima de 3 a 5 años en cargos vinculados a la planificación, gestión de proyectos eléctricos de Alta Tensión, construcción y puesta en servicio.
  • Experiencias en similar nivel, supervisando equipos.
  • Manejo de Principios y Prácticas de la Gestión de Activos. En indicadores de Gestión Activos. En análisis Causa Raíz. En gestión del Cambio (change Management) y riesgo eléctrico (NFPA 70e).
  • Mínimo 8 años en el sector eléctrico nacional.

What You Can Expect

As Project Manager II on our Capex team based at the University of Iowa, you'll oversee utility infrastructure capital projects ($100K–$15M) for expanding and maintaining campus utility systems. Managing projects lasting 1–3 years, you'll coordinate procurement, collaborate with development teams for project success, and liaise with O&M and Engineering to ensure technical compliance and strict health and safety standards.

  • Visits to project sites to facilitate contractor preconstruction requirements and ensure all projects adhere to requirements listed in applicable legal agreements
  • Tracks and analyzes progress on project-level spend and schedules in relation to approved budget and schedule baselines.
  • Cites any budget-related and schedule issues and processes change to ensure budget and schedule baselines are accurate
  • Provides regular status reports to clients and other external parties as necessary, including previously mentioned schedule and budget/cost updates
  • Works with engineering and development teams to obtain permits, negotiate and comply with interconnection agreements
  • Manages labor contractor relationships, master service agreements, required health and safety registration and contractor ethical requirements. Coordinates General Contractor’s Request for Proposals

 

What You'll Bring

Compensation

Salary Range: $86,100 – $132,020 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

Funciones principales

Control de Costes

 

  • Estructuración de los proyectos en la fase desarrollo. Elaboración CAPEX.
  • Control de costes de proyectos en fase de ejecución, incluyendo Previsión a Término (PAT), flujo de caja…
  • Análisis y control presupuestario de proyecto.

 

Planificación

  • Seguimiento del cronograma de proyectos en la fase de desarrollo a través de la herramienta MS Project.
  • Monitoreo de la planificación de los contratistas y detección de posibles riesgos de retraso durante la fase de ejecución.

 

Reporting

  • Elaboración de reportes de proyectos en fase de construcción.

 

Gestión de Riesgos

  • Análisis de riesgos y oportunidades en la fase final de desarrollo para el cálculo de contingencias de los proyectos.
  • Monitoreo de los riesgos y oportunidades de proyecto tratando de mitigar riesgos existentes y detectar potenciales oportunidades durante la fase de ejecución.

 

SAP y Gestión Administrativa de Proyecto

  • Creación de solicitudes de pedido y entradas de mercancías a través de la herramienta SAP durante la fase final de desarrollo.
  • Control documental de proyecto a través de la herramienta Procore en fase de Ejecución.

 

Requisitos

  • Grado universitario en Ingeniería
  • Experiencia (al menos 2 años) en control de costes y planificación de proyectos, preferiblemente en el sector de energías renovables.
  • Experiencia en el uso de MS Project/Primavera.
  • Nivel C1 de Inglés

 

Valorable:

  • Conocimiento avanzado de herramientas de gestión de proyectos y software ERP (por ejemplo, SAP).
  • Habilidades analíticas y capacidad para trabajar con grandes volúmenes de datos.
  • Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar en equipo.
