Responsibilities

General Management

  • Lead and oversee Energy Management, Project Sourcing as well as Control system and digital teams
  • Manage and allocate resources to meet operational needs and objectives. 
  • Ensure that the capability of the teams is aligned with the business growth trajectory
  • Advocate innovation and digital change in line with the ENGIE SEA business trajectory and industry trends

Energy Management

  • Provide proactive technical support and commercial contribution to the Business development teams, mainly in chilled water plant retrofit and district cooling systems
  • Endorse financial (CAPEX, OPEX) and technical (design performances) assumptions for the projects proposed for Commitment Committee 
  • Participate into technical assessment of potential acquisition targets during due diligenc
  • Support the standardization of engineering tools, methods and specifications to streamline the engineering studies

 

Project Sourcing

  • Manage and validate Project Capex assessment performed by the project sourcing team for chilled water plants, district cooling and solar projects over the life-circle to meet the project strategy, target and timeline. 
  • Manage local Capex and Opex vendor/technical database, benchmark and dashboards
  • Lead the sourcing and pre-qualification (Due Diligence, HSE, CSR, Factory Audit) on key suppliers and contractors, and seek synergies with the South East Asia region 
  • Lead and manage Project Sourcing Process including prepare RFP/tender, evaluate RFP/RFQ for key suppliers (direct) and contractors (M&E, Process, CSA work), perform total cost of ownership analysis and evaluate RFP/tender submission and selection, coordinating alignment with internal functional departments, tender memo for approval and contracting.
  • Support operation and maintenance team for supplier engagement and comprehensive solution

 

Control System and Digital    

  • Drive the standardization of Control system architecture 
  • Support the deployment of the Operation Control Centre in order to be able to monitor all our portfolio remotely
  • Implement the Computerized Maintenance Management System and support adoption for all projects
  • Help to coordinate among stakeholders and define objectives, organization, system architecture, platform-tools & budget. 
  • Ensure compliance with ENGIE IT and cybersecurity guidelines

 

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Thermal, Mechanical, Process Engineering or Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering
  • At least 15 years of experience with successful track record that includes executive leadership role
  • Solid understanding of district cooling and onsite utilities
  • Strong legal, contractual and financial knowledges
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to drive and influence change management.

What You Can Expect

As the Operations Manager for this 270 MW power plant situated in Iraan, TX you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

 

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising two technicians and indirectly overseeing a Regional Administrator. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.

 

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the wind farm site
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas) as well as work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses

 

 

Additional Details

  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips to support planned and forced outages at other facilities including solar sites-may require overnight stay
  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally on limited occasions
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

Compensation

Salary Range: $81,685 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As our Project Management Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for the technical development, administration and implementation of energy system projects related to new partnerships with universities or commercial and industrial entities, that aim at reducing carbon and energy consumptions. These energy systems encompass the production and distribution of electricity, chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the distribution of natural gas.

 

Every day you will lead the delivery of large capital projects safely, on budget, on time, and meet high quality standards, within the Energy Solutions North America business unit.

 

  • For business development projects or acquisitions, this role will heavily coordinate with the Major Projects team composed of contracts managers, project managers, engineering, project management office, the business development team, and all other support functions.

 

  • For large projects at existing partnerships, this role will liaise with and provide best practice sharing to the other members of the capital projects team including, but not limited to, Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Iowa University in Iowa City, IA and Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.

 

You will report to the Vice President of Major Capital Projects & IPOS.        

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You will possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technical discipline, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • You will need a minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in project management
  • You have experience leading design/engineering firms, construction contractors, qualified equipment vendors, and suppliers to ensure projects are executed on time, under budget, with no health, safety, environmental, and public relations incidents
  • You will hire and manage the project team including internal staff and external consultants required to deliver large industrial projects and provide lateral management to other ENGIE employees supporting the project
  • You will develop and update project definition documents, including but not limited to, scope, schedule, budget forecasts, resource requirements, risk registers, and benefit estimates. Diligently assess any potential savings to reach the best return on investment for the client
  • You will demonstrate flexibility to changing business and project conditions, develop and present alternative solutions to problems, and recommend a course of action to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget
  • You will measure project performances relying on KPI’s for engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and start-up to report at minimum monthly, identifying variances and taking corrective actions to achieve project objectives
  • You will provide regular reports to ENGIE leadership with key statistics, and summary reports
  • You will establish stakeholder management plans to understand needs and expectations and to ensure effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project
  • You will implement quality control processes to confirm project deliverables meet the required standards and conduct regular quality audits and inspections
  • You will collaborate in the development of processes and tools necessary to measure, analyze, and improve the performance of the portfolio of projects and report results to key stakeholders. Support the standardization of ENGIE’s project management tools, templates, and technologies
  • You will develop relationships with the ENGIE subsidiaries and our partners and encourage knowledge sharing across the teams
