About the Role: 

  • To achieve an acceptable, managed and mitigated level of exposure within the business to costs and risks associated with commodity and third-party levies/charges.
  • To ensure that we offer a competitive and compliant offer to the customer, whilst adhering to internal controls and policies.
  • To ensure that we mitigate our exposure to the cost risks associated with pricing a broad range of energy products.
  • To ensure the pricing and quoting systems are tested, maintained and updated as necessary.
  • To provide appropriate level of query management and support to the wider business in respect of Pricing activity for our catalogue of products as well as new propositions for both gas and electricity (import and export)

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Adherence to internal processes, policies and risk frameworks.
  • Assist in the definition of pricing policies and define the pricing methodologies to help ensure a framework that is effectively implemented and operated across the business.
  • Communicating and contributing to the management and resolution of any issues.
  • Continuous review and improvement of processes, focusing on accuracy, efficiency and automation.
  • Support the delivery of projects and programmes by providing subject matter expertise where appropriate.
  • Provide support to product development and bespoke product development.
  • Provide support in the testing of any pricing related system changes and assist with the implementation of system and process improvements.
  • Provide subject matter expert input into projects and programmes.
  • Understanding and management of economic, market and regulatory issues impacting on Pricing.

 

Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving, especially the use of creativity to resolve novel problems to the business’s advantage.
  • Knowledge of Retail products, UK B2B and commodity markets.
  • Microsoft Office proficient, Microsoft Excel Advanced User, VBA and Access desirable.
  • Proven ability to present information effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of elements that contribute to final delivered prices and cost items incurred by business in course of gas and electricity supply.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex environment.
  • Experience of retail pricing techniques and systems would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience in methodology documentation and process management and implementation.
  • Proven ability to undertake analysis of complex numerical problems.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

Key Responsibilities:

About the Role 

  

Based in London, the GEMS UK team provides trading services for several internal and external clients in the UK. We provide a range of optimisation, hedging, market operations and analytics services for these clients and the 24/7 shift trading team play a vital role in delivering these services.  

 

The shift trading team is seeking motivated individuals with specific proven capability and knowledge of the trading and operational landscape in GB Energy markets (or any other energy market where you have practical experience) gained in any of the following areas:  

  • Short term power and/or gas operations; 
  • Short term power and/or gas optimisation; 
  • System and/or market analysis;  
  • Regulatory analysis and development; 
  • Power/Gas system management; or, 
  • Power station control room operations. 

 

Numerate, commercially-driven and educated to degree level, the successful candidate will exhibit the following skills: 

  • Demonstrated numerate capability; 
  • Clear written and verbal communication, fluent in English; 
  • Ability and confidence to take ownership of issues, managing to resolution; and, 
  • Decisive in the face of incomplete information. 
  • Candidates that additionally hold proven coding skills will be considered favourably. 

 

The shift trader will: 

  • Optimise assets and positions in short term markets. We currently have a range of assets in our management including Pumped Storage, CCGT, Solar and Wind, Battery Storage and Gas Storage; 
  • Identify and drive implementation of value adding strategies in short term;  
  • Interface with clients, control rooms and other key internal and external stakeholders regularly; 
  • Be flexible, working as part of a 24/7 shift team; 
  • Accurately undertake operational tasks and procedures; 
  • Pursue continuous improvement of processes and systems; and 
  • Work in line with regulatory (particularly REMIT, TCLC and IOLC) and general policy requirements.  

 

 

The shift trading team is a core part of GEMS UK’s ambitious growth plans and the successful candidate will certainly gain a significant amount of experience and exposure in managing a wide variety of assets and commercial processes and positions. In particular, the role will provide the successful candidate with the unique opportunity to become involved with the optimisation of the UK’s largest pumped hydro facility, First Hydro.

  • To be the IT Lead in the definition, management, and delivery, of key IT software solutions for ENGIE Supply UK, and to drive performance across our Salesforce eco-system. 
  • The IT Senior Product Owners role is to maximise the value from ENGIE Supply UK’s solutions, to assure the health of the solution, to impact and manage the delivery of solution changes, regulatory programmes and to advise users on the best use of the solution to achieve business objectives. 
  • The IT Senior Product Owner role will have primary focus on their allocated solutions, and will be expected to broaden out into other applications within the ENGIE Supply landscape estate should business imperative, or regulatory obligation deem it necessary.   
  • The role is both technical and people focused and concentrates on maintaining product integrity, managing internal departments and maintaining relationships with external partners. The role will work with the IT development and test teams and the business stakeholders to ensure the product meets the user needs and the business goals. 
  • The IT Senior Product Owner will have the responsibility for knowledge share across the business with regard to the solution owned, and for mentoring team members. 
  • The IT Senior Product Owner will provide strategic direction for the product, translating business strategy into to ensure that product goals align with user needs and company objectives.  The Senior Product owner will keep abreast of market trends, alternative product landscap.es and competitor strategies to inform product direction and ensure competitive positioning in the market 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Senior Product Owner responsibilities involve the full product lifecycle, include gathering feature requests, scheduling releases and coordinating sprints. To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.   

  • To plan and deliver change within the umbrella of Business Transformation  
  • Organise and shape backlogs, feeding into dependency tracking

  • Manage the cost of the tools and technology employed by the teams under direction  
  • Maintain performance metrics for the team and solution under direction; e.g velocity, time to market, quality 

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, Salesforce Industries, Mulesoft, or Data Cloud and must be familiar with the Salesforce Ecosystem.  
  • Experience in Energy Industry software management as a product Owner, ideally in Billing solutions, Customer Relationship Management, Industry Interaction systems for the UK energy Market.   
  • 5 years’ leadership experience in an IT discipline with a strong and proven ability in the people management and development of software delivery and development teams, ideally across a range of different industry participants. 
  • Practical experience of architecting and maintaining a product Roadmap and Strategy combining regulatory and business improvement change.   
  • Has been responsible for delivery of outcomes from project and support simultaneously 
  • Exposure to strategic planning and resource management  
  • Has acted in the role of assurance, governance of solutions and delivery 
  • Experience in managing external parties. 
  • Has been required to research and innovate capability, ways of working, technology  
  • Experience of the challenges operating within matrix management structures is preferred 
  • Previous roles have contained aspects of financial management (e.g. setting budgets, tracking spend) 

 

Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Administrator certification, and achievement of, (or demonstrable progress towards), Developer, Architect or Consultant certifications. 
  • Trail Head rank of Mountaineer as a minimum. 
  • Certifications in the theory surrounding IT delivery (e.g. Agile, SAFe, MoR, Project & Programme management)   
  • Experience in the management tools relating to software delivery lifecycle, e.g. Atlassian Suite, Dev Ops etc.  
  • Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or specific related experience is expected but not essential

ENGIE UK is recruiting for an Internal Communications Manager to be based anywhere in the UK but aligned to ENGIE offices in London (EC2M 5RQ), where you may need to work from a couple of days a week.  This permanent role reports to the UK Head of Corporate Communications and will be responsible for developing and delivering an internal communications strategy for ENGIE UK.

Purpose of the Job 

ENGIE UK is made up of several Global Business Units (GBUs) and a Global Energy Management and Sales (GEMS) team. Traditionally, communications activity has been owned by the different GBUs and delivered by colleagues embedded within those brands.  Today, however, we are moving to an exciting, centralised “One ENGIE” approach.  

We are looking for an outstanding internal communicator who can create an internal culture of “ONE ENGIE”, bringing together our colleagues regardless of the brand they work within.  

The communications function is in its infancy and the candidate will need to create a new UK internal communications strategy that shares consistent UK messages, whilst helping the GBUs share the messages they need and giving colleagues regular opportunities to share and engage with one another.  

We also want to celebrate our employees and their achievements, and build out a new calendar of activity and events, which will include colleague awards.  

This is a new and important role in our business and an exciting opportunity to create an internal brand and culture at a fast-growing, ambitious, and purpose-driven global business. You will be supported by a communications and content officer who helps the communications team of 6 people. 
 
Key deliverables: 

  • Development and delivery of an overarching internal communications plan for ENGIE UK which includes an annual schedule of internal communications activity with colleague touchpoints mapped out

Purpose of the job

The Settlements Analyst is responsible for working with colleagues to maintain the Back Office function for EUM’s UK trading activities. This includes the development, maintenance and use of an effective system for settlement, payment, validation, and provision of month end reporting information.  The Settlements Analyst is also expected to contribute to developing and maintaining a reputation for the Back Office as a provider of accurate, efficient and timely information to its internal and external stakeholders, which include Finance teams within ENGIE, counterparty Back Offices, Risk Management teams and Group Reporting

 

About the role

This role is part of the Back Office team within FINOPS, working alongside a team of six. We are looking to hire a Settlement Analyst for our London office. This is a permanent, hybrid position, working 37 hours per week, with two days spent in the office

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Validation and Confirmation of transactions across a wide range of commodity markets and with trading counterparties (internal and external) for all UK trading activities. This includes trades executed on exchanges and Over the Counter (OTC) directly with counterparties under various contract structures. Maintain a system for tracking outstanding confirmations and liaise with counterparties to ensure all outstanding confirmations are received.
  • Invoicing: Accurate preparation and validation of commodity invoices, associated fees (including broker fees, gas shipping and transportation charges) and some ancillary services. 
  • Daily cash margining process: agree daily cash margin (also referred to as cash collateral) exposures with trading counterparties. This is a time sensitive process that involves daily payments by set deadlines and being proactive in following up if there are late responses and/or mismatches.
  • Query Resolution: Have a thorough understanding of commodities and contract structures traded to successfully resolve queries from internal and external counterparties.
  • Compliance control: Review deals from a compliance and control point of view and flag up for corrective action (e.g. errors and breaches by traders)
  • Financial Control:  Liaise with colleagues in the wider business to ensure cash settlement occurs and follow up late payments with counterparties where necessary.
  • Internal Control, Best Practise and Audit:  Develop and maintain clear and logical administrative processes with efficient audit trails. Assist with audit queries as and when they arise. Strive to develop the Back Office as an area of “Best Practise”.
  • Financial and Trading Reporting:  Ensure all required information is provided under agreed deadlines to various users including:
    • Finance teams - for cash forecasting, gross margin reporting and month end reporting
    • Risk Management- for trading reports
    • Wider areas of the business for ad-hoc analysis
  • Compliance with Contractual Terms:  Ensure all Back Office processes are carried out in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Regulatory reporting: support Back Office team with regulatory reporting (REMIT, EMIR etc)
  • Various Ad-Hoc Tasks, including:
    • provide knowledge and support during Trade System improvement projects.
    • propose and participate in improving processes and tools (e.g., automate manual tasks, update and improve existing tools etc.)
  • Back up cover for the team – provide cover for the Back Office team when colleagues are out of the office (e.g., holiday/sick leave cover)

 

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Experience working  in a Back Office environment within the UK/European energy industry
  • Experience with an ETRM system for the energy industry such as Orchestrade (OT) is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (candidates with coding skills will be considered favourably, e.g., VBA, Python, SQL, Power BI, advanced MS Excel etc)
  • Experience in back office process automation and digitalisation.
  • Experience in large scale systems projects / or equivalent project work.
  • Awareness of UK VAT rules (not essential but desirable)
  • Focus on automation and eliminating manual/inefficient processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team environment

About the Role

This role will be responsible for ensuring the business is fully OFGEM and ISCC compliant at all times.  The job holder will manage and coordinate all RHI, FiT and ISCC accreditations,  certifications and ensure all relevant reports and submissions are delivered on time and are correct.

 

This is a Hybrid role assigned to our Gorst Office in Clyst St Mary (Exeter) where the successful candidate would be based.   On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package and the chance to make a difference in the energy transition.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating all RHI, FiT and ISCC accreditations and certifications
  • Ensuring that all Ofgem and ISCC reports are correct and on time.
  • Ensure all quarterly and Monthly RHI and FiT submissions are on time and correct.
  • Raise REGOs and RGGOs and ensure all associated reports are correct, on time and delivered to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Report RHI and FT related revenue streams to Accounts team and advise where delays may occur
  • Notifying Ofgem of any changes to systems in a timely manner and following through with Ofgem to ensure accounts are up to date correct and accreditations are not jeopardised
  • Engaging with site Managers to keep abreast of any changes to heat and power circuits that may need action addressing with Ofgem
  • Provide guidance to sites where required to ensure they remain fully RHI, FiT and ISCC compliant
  • Undertake periodic internal audits to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring all feedstocks used are Ofgem compliant
  • Be the focal point and assume for all Ofgem and ISCC external audits. Fully engage with auditors to ensure successful outcomes for audits.
  • Ensure sites are constantly audit ready
  • Undertake Supplier audits to ensure ISCC, RHI and FT compliance
  • Assume responsibility for interacting with Energy Management for sale of RGGO/REGOs
  • Work with Energy Management Portfolio Manager to ensure correct volumes are hedged as per hedging policy

Knowledge and skills:

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness and an orderly and responsible approach to work 
  • 5 years’ experience in working with regulatory bodies
  • Experience of Energy trading and derivates desirable
