Purpose of the Role: 

Contribute to the safe operation of Storengy UK assets, ensuring the protection of personnel, plant, and the environment. Provide specialized C&I technical support for site projects, operations, and maintenance activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety, Health & Environment: Perform tasks safely, report incidents, and drive process safety improvements.
  • Control & Instrumentation: Support site C&I activities, design modifications, and ensure operational compliance.
  • Process Safety: Understand Functional Safety and IEC 61511, work towards TUV certification, and maintain compliance with IEC 60079-14.
  • Process Control Systems (DCS): Collaborate with IT to ensure compliance, review system modifications, and support DCS maintenance.
  • Procurement & Contract Management: Prepare scopes of work, manage contractors, and handle C&I spares.
  • General: Adhere to procedures, implement maintenance policies, and support continuous improvement programs.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Early career with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Initiative in problem-solving and effective communication.
  • Accountability for C&I activities and continuous improvement.

Relevant Education:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering subject, ideally control and instrumentation.
  • CompEx12 and TUV functional safety qualifications advantageous.

Purpose of the job:  

The Retail Operations Administrator will play an active role in the Onboarding teams day to day processes. The job holder will manage operational processes surrounding the registration and losses of Gas and Electricity supplies on the ENGIE portfolio, ensuring a ‘right first time’ approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration (and management of losses) of customers in a timely and accurate manner, assisting with the maintenance and development of all registration systems and processes 
  • Ensuring that relevant agents are appointed/de-appointed within industry timescales 
  • Ensuring that start and end reads are received for all new gains and losses in a timely manner 
    • Ensuring Erroneous Transfers are process within SLAs set by industry and monitored by the Performance Assurance Board 
  • Responding effectively to and helping resolve queries in relation to Change of Supply activities.

  • Liaising effectively with third party agents

Knowledge and Skills:

Role Purpose 

As the Lead Storage Optimisation, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our short-term energy storage automated trading operations. Your primary purpose will be to create, develop, improve and maintain automated trading strategies for our BESS and hydro portfolio. 

 

You will collaborate closely with traders, quants, developers and analysts to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions, thereby directly contributing to the success of our trading strategies. 

 

Last, but not least, you will own the vision of the optimiser. So you will be responsible for driving the optimiser product to the level expected by the traders, which means you will have to collaborate with IS teams (local and central) to implement the UK requirements. 

 

Main activities 

  • Work closely with traders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. In particular: 
  • Creating new optimisation strategies. 
  • Improve existing strategies. 
  • Analyse results of the strategies and to propose solutions to improve them 
  • Deploy the strategies in the cloud (AWS is a plus). 
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration. 
  • Coordinate with IS teams to: 
  • Explain the UK optimiser vision 
  • Prioritize the needs of the UK storage optimisation team 
  • Follow the progress of the developments 

 

Challenges:

  • Client centricity: communicate with traders, analysts and quants, understand their needs, share strategy and results, challenge their needs, and coordinate with other IS teams in Energy Management UK

Experience: 

Essential: 

  • Proficiency in Python programming  
  • Excellent written and spoken English 
  • Having optimised BESS assets in the UK is a plus. 
  • Strong experience in machine learning, and cloud services (AWS is a plus). 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools is a plus. 
  • Strong communicator, with an ability to engage colleagues effectively and to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Higher education, or appropriate experience.
