Renewables Gases (part of ENGIE), manages multiple anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities throughout the South West region. These facilities supply eco-friendly energy to residences and businesses in the area.

 

 

Role

Full-time, Night Shift (48 hours per week, 6pm to 6am, including weekends).

 

Our operational teams are dedicated to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants. We have an exciting opportunity for a responsible and skilled individual to join our team at our Gorst Site (EX5 1AF)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the AD plant unsupervised outside of normal working hours.
  • Monitor and respond to the company’s SCADA system to identify and rectify operational problems.
  • Liaise promptly with on-call Plant Operators and the Plant Manager to ensure minimal disruption and safe operation of the plant.
  • Coordinate with the on-call maintenance team to log and carry out maintenance work timely.
  • Perform minor mechanical maintenance repairs.
  • Operate the weighbridge.
  • Accurately record operational and maintenance events in the company’s database for handover to day staff.
  • Prepare routine performance reports.

 

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Experience working in a similar operational site.
  • Previous maintenance experience is desired.
  • Experience operating a control room system.
  • Previous experience of night shifts and lone working is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of environmental and commercial issues affecting plant operations.
  • Proficiency in monitoring via computer technology.
  • Excellent IT skills with strong numerical, analytical, and diagnostic abilities.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Preferred experience in operating a telehandler, tractor, or forklift (training provided).
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.

  • This role involves lone working and providing holiday cover for your team when required.
  • A full clean driving license is essential

Renewable Gases Europe is ENGIE’s business entity responsible for the development of renewable and low-carbon gasses production in Europe.  Since 2015, ENGIE has been developing biomethane production activity.  We are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to ensure that our UK projects are managed, executed and delivered in accordance with ENGIE’s requirements, in particular with regard to Time, Quality and Cost from conception to completion.

 

About the Role

From the point a development is identified as a project and the budget has been agreed, the Project Manager is expected to look after all aspects of the project from conceptual design, by engaging external consultants and managing the process through the tendering process to contract award. The project manager will then be responsible for delivering the project through construction to completion and operation of the site.

 

The Project Manager will provide guidance and leadership to the team, through all aspects of the project and be the point of contact both internally and externally.

 

Key deliverables will include regular reporting of the project status including, budget, timeline, contractual issues, engagement of external consultants, interaction with governing bodies and monitoring the health and safety.

 

The Project Manager may be expected to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that that reviews are carried out, including financial, risk and contract reviews as required and escalate when needed to the Senior Management Team.

             

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, being able to comprise to achieve win-win agreements.
  • Exceptional organisational, planning, and action plan management skills
  • A high degree of awareness in HSE, quality, costs and schedule, with the ability to find the right balance.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Competent in the use of IT platforms such as MS Excel, MS Project, PowerBi, BIM/PML/ERP).

 

Knowledge and skills

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing industrial projects such as bioenergy, energy, chemicals, water/waste treatment in an ECP organisation Preferably on an international scale.
  • Sound understanding of engineering and construction processes, preferably construction site experience.

 

This role will involve UK wide travel with occasional European travel.

Job Description

 

The overall purpose of the job is to;

 

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Engie Impact global service offering to deliver excellent client experience
  • Manage designated global client accounts to ensure contractual obligations are delivered in accordance with the terms of existing contracts
  • Take responsibility for overall client satisfaction and the retention of the account at renewal (including management of supply tenders)
  • Build strong client relationships across UK/EMEA through regular communication

About the Role:

The Commercial Development Engineer delivers the technical detail required for National Grid (ESO) tenders for commercial market products for First Hydro. Example provided Mid-term Stability Product. Commercial products transform Pump / Turbine Unit capability and availability into income from market schemes proposed by National Grid.

These products are becoming increasingly technical as the ESO seeks confirmation of Unit capability, performance modelling under operational circumstance and compliance with Grid Code obligations. This delivery of technical detail requires the translation of tender requirements, confirmation that generators shall be compliant with product requirements and the submission of completed tenders to the ESO. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate tender requirements and determine the required electrical system and turbine / generator data to support compliance with the products. 
  • Establish and validate models to demonstrate compliance with product delivery and Grid Code compliance in line with tender requirements. 
  • Provide expert advice and direction within Electrical / Control Systems associated with Turbine / Generator and Electrical systems.   
  • Plan, direct and organise resources and manage contractors to deliver assigned projects in line with relevant tender requirements.  
  • Assess, select, negotiate, and manage contracts / assignments to provide technical / commercial support to tender requirements. undertaking the role of Technical Officer and Responsible Officer with limited supervision. 
  • Implement initiatives to improve the management of quality and ensure delivery of tenders is within the safe operating capability of the units and systems. 
  • Analyse and determine solutions for plant-level problems associated with the delivery of market products and ensuring compliance with Grid Code requirements.  
  • Act as a role model within own team and within multi-functional teams across the business for a positive and purposeful team working environment.   
  • Pass on own technical knowledge and experience to colleagues and peers to maintain and improve the business capability. 
  • Identify, interpret and ensure the compliance with tender requirements by developing local procedures
