We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer to join our procurement division at European Maintenance Support (EMS) & Flex Gen North in Belgium. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our local procurement services add significant value to our business partners.
Your Mission as Senior Buyer :
In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing Business Partner Satisfaction and ensuring Compliance: Achieving overall satisfaction and cost reductions while adhering to governance and INCOME rules. This includes conducting daily purchasing activities professionally, respecting governance rules, meeting internal customer expectations, and maintaining close contact with Business Partners for early involvement in assigned files.
Your Key Responsibilities as Senior Buyer :
- Needs Analysis and Optimization: Analyze and optimize procurement needs as assigned by the Head of Purchasing.
- Business Partner Engagement: Maintain continuous contact with internal business partners to anticipate their procurement needs.
- Procurement Process Execution:
- Ensure proper setup of purchase requests and orders.
- Identify potential suppliers and organize consultations.
- Conduct tenders, negotiate terms, and implement contracts.
- Apply Group’s rules, Health, Safety, Sustainable Development policies, and Ethics standards.
- Document savings according to Group’s rules.
- Meetings and Support: Participate in status and team meetings, support local supplier management activities, and facilitate issue resolution with Accounting and Business.
Your Profile as Senior Buyer :
- Experience/Diploma:
- University degree in Engineering or Economics (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant procurement experience, especially in technical projects and Framework Agreements for Works & Services.
- Technical background (by diploma or experience), preferably in power generation domains.
- Technical/Business Skills:
- Solid procurement knowledge (negotiation, supplier & contract management, governance, P2P-processes).
- Proficiency in STAR (SAP).
- Knowledge of power plant environment (processes, principles & main equipment) is a plus.
- Behavioral Skills:
- Proactive, interactive, positive attitude, and structured approach.
- Ability to work in complex team project organizations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Team player with resilience to stress.
- Languages:
- Fluent in Dutch and good knowledge of French
- Full proficiency in English

- Understanding of the power generation business and local supply markets.
- Strong safety and environmental awareness.
