Your mission

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Design Managers to work on the design of the Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplant, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams. 

 

Your key responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your experience and the position you take within our team:

  • Leading project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Developing and executing project plans, including scope, schedule, cost, risk management, and communication plans.
  • Facilitating communication and co-ordination of information to stakeholders, including project team members, clients, and senior management.
  • Supporting and mentoring members of the team, to help them develop individually and to meet our collective goals.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Supporting our Contract Managers in the preparation of claims and variations.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the engineering discipline leads, to develop training plans and strategies for increasing our capability in the UK.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Design or Technical Management experience, preferably for major projects in highly regulated industry, e.g. nuclear.
  • Background demonstrating strong technical skills in your field of engineering, with experience in delivery technical packages.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Your mission

We are looking for a motivated Principal FE analysts to work on the design of reinforced concrete structures of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your FE expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with our team of talented engineers and problem solvers. 

 

Your Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your technical experience and the position you take within our team:

  • Providing technical leadership and team management to deliver FE work packages effectively. 
  • Providing technical leadership and direction for teams of FE analysts.
  • Aiding with the training and upskilling our current team of analysts.
  • Conduct and review analysis of complex structures carried out in FEM packages (experience in using Ansys beneficial).
  • Analysing structures in dynamic scenarios, including for seismic and blast events.
  • Post-processing data and results to deliver reinforced concrete designs.
  • Contributing to the improvement of our engineering processes, including our in house programmed tools which are developed in a range of programming languages.
  • Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project teams.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Master’s in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering, or with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in managing and/or mentoring teams of FE engineers.
  • Experience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software.
  • Experience in the analysis of reinforced concrete structures, including dynamic analysis for seismic, blast etc.
  • Programming skills in one or several languages are a plus.

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your technical experience and the position you take within our team:

  • Completing the structural design of new build nuclear structures, including for accidental situations such as seismic and blast.
  • Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project stakeholders.
  • Providing technical review and responding to site queries and requested changes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to support contractor activities on HPC site.
  • Perform analysis of structures within commercial FEM packages (experience in using Ansys beneficial).
  • Provide a technical link with reinforcement detailers, also checking detailing models and drawings.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Working towards or recently Chartered with the ICE, IStructE, or with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design.
  • Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and Industry Standards (Eurocodes, British Standard, and ETC-C the applicable code for HPC/SZC).

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.

We are looking for motivated and forward thinking Civil Engineers to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will apply your engineering and problem solving skills to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams. 

 

Your key responsibilities

The following points indicate some of the key responsibilities and activities that our graduate engineers could be expected to undertake:

  • Learning how to, and completing, structural design of new build nuclear structures, including for accidental situations such as seismic and blast.
  • Developing skills to perform analysis of structures within commercial FEM packages.
  • Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project stakeholders.
  • Providing analysis and responding to queries originating from construction sites.
  • Coordinate the transfer of design information to reinforcement detailers.
  • Developing strong relationships and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.

The following experience is also beneficial:

  • Programming skills in one or several languages are a plus.
