Your mission
As EHS Manager, you will lead the Environment, Health, and Safety function on a high-profile data center construction site across Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. You will be responsible for shaping and enforcing a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with local and international standards, and guiding a team of EHS Supervisors to successfully implement the EHS strategy. Your mission will directly contribute to the health, safety, and environmental integrity of this hyperscale project.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the EHS team on-site and ensure alignment with Tractebel’s and the client’s safety culture and policies.
- Enforce adherence to all relevant EHS legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective measures.
- Act as Stop Work Authority (SWA) when works are unsafe or non-compliant.
- Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and communication strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments, validate RAMS, and oversee mitigation strategies.
- Provide EHS training programs and promote awareness through team engagement.
- Lead incident investigations, define root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage environmental compliance, including waste reduction and pollution prevention.
- Prepare and test emergency response plans; coordinate actual responses when needed.
- Collaborate closely with the EPMC, client, and contractors to ensure project alignment.
- Report regularly to the Project Manager and client, including incident and progress updates.

Your qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification EHS Level 1 mandatory
- Relevant professional certifications such as VCA VOL are highly desirable.
- Significant experience in a similar EHS management role on large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centers or high-hazard environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Belgian EHS laws; familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is a plus.
- Proven ability to develop and implement EHS procedures and delegate effectively.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
- Experience delivering impactful EHS training programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch and/or French is highly desirable.
- Experience with G Suite and working in international project environments is an asset.
