Your mission  
As Junior Civil Works Site Engineer in our Proximity department of the Metier ‘Civil Engineering & Infra’, part of the Business Area Nuclear, you will address the technical follow-up of the civil works related to the different projects that are ongoing and will be realized in the frame of 

• Long Term Operations – namely the projects associated to the life time extension of Doel 4;
• Decommissioning and Dismantling – namely both the new build and modifications associated to the final shutdown of Doel 1,  2 and 3;
• Plant Operational Support – namely the civil works assistance we deliver to the operational power plants (e.g. from maintenance works for cooling towers or other important structures, to completely new build structures, as e.g. Spent Fuel Storage Facilities);

You will join the Site Team under the mentorship of the Site Lead.

Your key responsibilities  

• interfacing between Tractebel’s back office, the Client and Contractors realizing the works;
• inspecting the Contractors’ execution activities, verifying compliance with execution drawings and documents (erection methodology etc.);
• verifying and monitoring of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements;
• management of the technical interfaces between Contractors;
• management and follow up of main design modifications;
• participation to regular meetings with the stakeholders: progress, challenges, interfaces, HSE, etc.;
• drafting work orders and site orders, issuing notes on the execution and shortcomings, and checking the progress reports prepared by the Contractors;
• continually exchanging information on developments in work, studies, etc.;

We would love to hear from people with  

• a Master degree in civil/structural engineering.
• A first relevant professional experience in an engineering or contractor’s environment, including design assignments and erection follow-up, preferably in an industrial environment is an advantage;
• fluency in Dutch, and either French or English;

Your mission  

As Senior Structural Engineer in our Design Brussels Civil Works department of the Metier ‘Civil Engineering & Infra’, part of the Business Area Nuclear, you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in  a wide variety of civil construction activities. Those activities are ranging from newbuilt projects that often run over several years, short-term renovation projects as well as punctual assistance to the Operator. From a technical point of view, you will work with a broad range of disciplines. You will manage the interface between Client, Operator and the team.

Your key responsibilities  

• You oversee the design and calculations of nuclear related structures and building subjected to internal and external hazards;
• You perform structural analyses using FEM code;
• You participate actively in the dynamic analysis of nuclear structures and components to various hazards: earthquake, gas explosion, tornado, plane crash accident;
• You participate in the writing of technical specifications (design requirements) and the review of technical documents issued by the Contractor;
• You participate in the preparation of offers or the invitation to tender;
• Mentoring of Junior Calculation Engineers  and sharing your experience and expertise with the team 
• You check calculation notes of less experienced engineers according to the QA policy of the company.
   

We would love to hear from people with 

• A Civil Engineering degree with at least 20 years of experience in structural analysis and design;
• Knowledge of international codes and standards (Eurocodes as well as American Standards such as ASCE, ACI, USNRC (SRP and RG), …);
• The capability of predicting the response of structures under static and dynamic loading;
• Experience in general purpose Finite Element and structural codes (such as ANSYS, SCIA, ..) for static loads or dynamic loads , in case of linear or non-linear analysis ;
• A strong background in design of concrete structure against earthquake, explosion, tornado and plane crash accident is required;
• Knowledge of nuclear domain and safety (this is a must);

Votre mission

En tant que Ingénieur Ingénieur junior en ouvrages hydraulique (barrages, usines hydro électriques, ouvrages de transfert d’eau) au sein de l’unité Water – Asia Pacific, vous interviendrez dans les différentes phases de la vie des projets d’étude et de suivi de construction des projets dans le cadre des mission de Maîtrise d’œuvre et ou d’assistance au Maitres d’Ouvrages confiées à Tractebel.

Vos principales responsabilités

• Conception, études préliminaires, études de faisabilité, d’avant projet ou de projet ;
• Documents contractuels : rédaction des dossier d’appel d’offre, analyse des offres des entrepreneurs et assistance à la passation des marchés travaux;
• Supervision des chantiers en cours de construction : suivi du planning, du respect du contrat tant du point de vue technique que contractuel et financier;
• Réception des ouvrages achevés : opérations préalables à la réception, essais de mis en services, levées des réserves, certificat de bon achèvement.
• Formation des clients à nos métiers.
• L’ingénieur junior interviendra sur les différents composant des projets : 
• Conception des ouvrages : calculs des ouvrages vis-à-vis des leurs dimensions hydrauliques et structurelles ; rédaction des notices descriptives et de calculs ;
• Proposition de solutions techniques robustes et/ou innovantes ;
• Coordination des études avec les autres corps d’état (mécaniques et électriques essentiellement) ;
• Planning des études et de la construction du projet ;
• Estimation des coûts du projet et des incertitudes correspondantes.
• Les projets peuvent se situés en Asie ou Océanie.
• L’ingénieur junior travaillera sous le contrôle d’un ingénieur spécialiste et du chef de projet tout au long de la mission de Tractebel. Il participe au développement de la relation client.

Jouw missie

Als Design Engineer Infraworks in onze afdeling Infrastructure draag je elke dag bij aan onze missie door een cruciale rol te spelen in het ontwerpen, modelleren en optimaliseren van complexe infrastructuurprojecten. Met behulp van geavanceerde softwaretools zoals Autodesk InfraWorks en Civil 3D creëer je innovatieve oplossingen voor wegen, rioleringssystemen en andere infrastructuren. 

Als Design Engineer is het mogelijk om vanuit onze kantoren in Antwerpen, Gent, Hasselt of Brussel te werken.

Je belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden
 

• Ontwerpen en modelleren van infrastructuurprojecten:
  • Gebruik maken van InfraWorks en Civil 3D om ontwerpconcepten voor infrastructuur te visualiseren, simuleren en optimaliseren (wegen, spoorwegen, rioleringssystemen, etc.).
  • Analyseren van topografische, geospatiale en geotechnische gegevens voor het creëren van realistische en betrouwbare modellen.
  • Uitvoeren van dimensionering en berekeningen voor wegontwerpen, waterbeheer en andere infrastructuurnetwerken.
• Samenwerking met projectteams:
  • Nauw samenwerken met interne teams en externe stakeholders om ervoor te zorgen dat ontwerpen voldoen aan specificaties en lokale normen.
  • Coördineren met de ontwerp-, engineering- en constructieteams om de technische haalbaarheid van projecten te waarborgen.
• Analyseren van projectgegevens en simulaties uitvoeren:
  • Integreren van geografische gegevens en andere informatie uit terreinmetingen in BIM-modellen voor een efficiënter ontwerp- en bouwproces.
  • Gebruik maken van simulaties om de impact van het ontwerp te evalueren op milieu, kosten en tijd.
• Ondersteuning bij documentatie en rapporten:
  • Ondersteunen bij het opstellen van projectdocumentatie, rapporten en presentaties voor klanten en belanghebbenden.

 
We horen graag van mensen met  
 

• Minimaal een bachelor in Civiele Techniek, Bouwkunde of een gerelateerd vakgebied.
• Uitgebreide ervaring met Autodesk InfraWorks en Civil 3D.
  • Autodesk InfraWorks: Gedetailleerd 3D-modelleren van infrastructuurprojecten en het uitvoeren van simulaties van realistische scenario’s.
  • Autodesk Civil 3D: Ontwerpen van wegen, analyse van rioleringssystemen en het beheren van topografische en geotechnische data.
  • BIM (Building Information Modeling): Bekwaamheid in het werken met BIM voor het optimaliseren van ontwerpprocessen en de samenwerking tussen verschillende teams.
• Grondige kennis van infrastructuurontwerp en -modellering.
  • Grondige kennis van ontwerpprincipes voor hoofdwegen, primaire wegen en andere infrastructuurelementen.
  • Ervaring in het ontwerpen en modelleren van rioleringssystemen, wegen en andere civiele infrastructuur.
• Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en ervaring met het werken in teamverband.
• Probleemoplossend vermogen en oog voor detail.

We are looking for motivated and forward thinking Civil Engineers to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will apply your engineering and problem solving skills to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams. 

Your key responsibilities

The following points indicate some of the key responsibilities and activities that our graduate engineers could be expected to undertake:

• Learning how to, and completing, structural design of new build nuclear structures, including for accidental situations such as seismic and blast.
• Developing skills to perform analysis of structures within commercial FEM packages.
• Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project stakeholders.
• Providing analysis and responding to queries originating from construction sites.
• Coordinate the transfer of design information to reinforcement detailers.
• Developing strong relationships and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

• Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.

The following experience is also beneficial:

• Programming skills in one or several languages are a plus.
• Experience in the use of structural FEM software during your studies.

Your mission

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Design Managers to work on the design of the Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplant, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams. 

Your key responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your experience and the position you take within our team:

• Leading project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Developing and executing project plans, including scope, schedule, cost, risk management, and communication plans.
• Facilitating communication and co-ordination of information to stakeholders, including project team members, clients, and senior management.
• Supporting and mentoring members of the team, to help them develop individually and to meet our collective goals.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Supporting our Contract Managers in the preparation of claims and variations.
• Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Supporting the engineering discipline leads, to develop training plans and strategies for increasing our capability in the UK.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Design or Technical Management experience, preferably for major projects in highly regulated industry, e.g. nuclear.
• Background demonstrating strong technical skills in your field of engineering, with experience in delivery technical packages.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
