What You Can Expect

As a Senior Quantitative Analyst, you will report to Head of Asset Portfolio Management & Structuring, you will leverage ENGIE’s large-scale Renewable and Battery Storage Portfolio to commercialize industry-leading Clean Power Product structures. You will play a pivotal role in developing next-generation models and strategies to facilitate first-of-a-kind market products. Working within the Renewable and Battery Storage Portfolio Management Team, you will apply knowledge of both traditional and exotic market products, coupled with a quantitative approach to modeling risk, that supports new transactions.

 

You will develop, maintain, and standardize models utilized to assess future value and risk associated with transactions conducted with the intent to maximize ENGIE portfolio value and minimize risk. You will utilize understanding of power markets, risk, renewables, and battery storage to formulate strategies by which to manage future risk introduced by new transactions and/or changing market conditions. Example functions include:

 

  • Developing statistical models that value current and future renewable and battery storage generation sold to downstream large energy consumers
  • Structuring exotic commercial products tailored to client’s sustainability needs and within desired risk limits
  • Standardized hedging and trading strategies intended to mitigate risk associated with complex bundled energy products
  • Pricing customized renewable off-take deals

 

In support of the aforementioned functions, you should also be able to assist in developing, maintaining, and streamlining fundamental and statistical models to assess market risk in Texas (ERCOT), Mid-Continent (SPP & MISO) , and Eastern (PJM) Power Markets. Example activities include:

 

  • Developing models to price bundled energy products in power markets
  • Establishing a fundamentally-backed perspective on future capacity and congestion markets across Wholesale Power Markets
  • Perform fundamental analysis in both Power and Gas Markets to understand the dynamics in demand, supply and infrastructure

 

You are also expected to support traders and originators during negotiations. Supporting responsibilities include:

 

  • Providing updates to pricing upon request, providing supplemental analysis and assisting in the negotiations of structured transactions
  • Proposing risk management strategies for the existing ENGIE portfolio with the intent of maximizing portfolio value and minimizing risk

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in which you completed coursed in Engineering/Math/Physics/Economics/Finance/Statistics or other related disciplines
  • 5 years’ experience in related field
  • Strong background in probability and statistics, with comprehensive understanding risk
  • Ability to develop code-based models (python preferred) with understanding of cloud hosted environments (GCS, AWS, Azure) an added benefit
  • Knowledge in US Natural Gas and Power Markets. In-depth understanding of structured energy commodity transactions, particularly in the renewable energy
  • Ability to interpret complexity in contracts, tariffs, regulations, market rules.
  • Ability to grasp the concepts of power plant operations and understand their implication in commercial transactions. Role will have a heavy focus on renewables and battery technology
  • Ability to convey and communicate findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated spirit with creative and inquisitive mindset.
  • Experience in pricing options and derivatives
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

Compensation

Salary Range: $86,100 – $132,020 USD annually

 

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Job       Purpose/Mission 

The Loan Recovery Officer is responsible for the receivables risk management (RRM). This includes among others, Portfolio management and Loan Workouts.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out customer work-out, including the following work-out categories to be applied to customers in late repayment through calling clients who are in early non repayment categories.
  • Ensure proper documentation of open loan cases.
  • Ensure customers are paying on time in assigned loan portfolio
  • Negotiate with non-paying clients and give them solutions to bring them back on track to repayments through rescheduling.
  • Recommend and work with external service providers on portfolio management by escalating repossession cases.
  • Customer education to customers on impact on loan non-repayments.
  • Supporting the analysis of causes for portfolio deteriorations
  • Providing regular portfolio, compliance and routine report to the Loan Recovery Team Leader.
  • Restructure loan repayment plan from delinquent clients as per policy and procedure

 

Knowledge and Skills 

 Experience:

  • Experience in customer relationship management 
  • Team player 
  • Computer literacy, particularly good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Self-starter with a passion for Mysol and its mission to plug in the world 

 

Qualifications:

The Expertise Center Global Market Analysis (GMA) is looking for a Senior Expert Power Market Analyst.

He/She will report to the leader of market analysis for mid term power markets.

The market analyst teams develop consistent market views (gas, power, oil, emissions, weather) to explain market moves and forecast future evolution ; build and run forecasting & simulation models ; propose, enhance and follow trading strategies ; pro-actively seek innovative solutions to improve sales, traders and business developers performance as well as to support senior managers in their decision making process ; provide market analysis reports and services to a defined set of internal and external clients ; provide strategic insights on new businesses linked to energy transition ; represent GEMS in external forum or conferences in relation with energy market knowledge, meteorology or hydrology ; producing economic and financial analysis for origination, negotiation, valuation and management of assets.

 

Role:

 

The Senior Expert Power Market Analyst will focus on the development of multi scenario fundamental power price forecast over 5 to 10 years. This project is of high importance for GEMS and Engie to improve asset & portfolio valuation, risk management and investment decision making.

He/she will work closely with the GMA Power Market Analysis teams and the Meteo Analysis team to coordinate the work and build on their expertise. He will also drive the collaboration with Engie Impact Advisory teams who contribute to the project. He/she will contribute to GMA internal fundamental modeling platform.

 

The senior expert analyst is accountable for the analysis performed by GMA teams for the asset and portfolio valuations. He/she is the point of contact with the NWE Power Cluster, Risk, AIFA and the new S&EM Portfolio entity.

 

The senior expert analyst will work closely with all market analysis leaders to share transversal activities and competences in the expertise center teams.

He/she will be in close contact with the Regulation teams in charge of defining and defending GEMS/Engie positions for future market design and regulation.

 

 

Hard skills:

Context :

The Credit risk Analyst role is part of EC Risk Europe, the Risk Division of GEMS in Europe and will be managing credit risk resulting from the Energy Management, Global Energy & B2B Supply activities in Europe. Main responsibility is to overview the creditworthiness of the counterparties in these portfolios and manage the credit risk exposure accordingly (credit risk mandate, overdue monitoring…). The economic environment is also key and needs also to be followed.

 

 

Role:

 

Credit Analysis

  • In-depth credit analysis of European clients (analysis of the financials, sector analysis, market & environment, peers and SWOT analysis)
  • Rating recommendation and validation in ECR rating tool
  • Recommendation including credit conditions on the request submitted
  • Communication of any relevant negative news on clients
  • Monitoring and follow up of the Client’s credit exposure on clients and effective implementation or monitoring of credit mitigants

 

Contribute to the EC Risk Europe risk management governance

  • Support the update the EC Risk Europe policy and sections related to credit risk.
  • Support the review the credit delegation scheme of EC Risk Europe
  • Support the presentation of the related charts / dashboard in EM or Supply Risk Committees
  • Support on ad-hoc analysis and projects within the Finance & Risk teams.

As a Physical Trading Operator, you will report to the Global LNG Operations Team Leader and the Head of Global LNG & Biomass Operations & Logistics. You will collaborate to the fulfillment of the missions of the department and may be involved in projects spanning multiple groups across commercial functions and staff and providing opportunities for growth. This role is based in Singapore and it requires many interactions with the teams in Europe. As part of Engie’s global commodities physical trading Operations team, you are eager to get involved in/operate some of the other commodities managed by the team (like biomass and ammonia) if and when required.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • LNG cargo and freight operations – accurate and timely execution of our product and freight contracts to enhance the P&L of the desk
  • Willingness and flexibility to get involved in biomass and/or ammonia cargo and freight operations if and when required
  • Work closely with the other front office teams and our internal support functions (Back Office, Legal, Credit, IT) to coordinate the complete and timely execution of our product and freight contracts
  • Ensure that regulatory or contractual safety requirements regarding physical delivery and shipping are systematically applied in our daily business
  • Negotiate letters of credit or other credit support documents
  • Responsible for selecting, coordinating and following up of external service providers
  • Have a global view of our physical LNG portfolio and associated risks, and contribute to ENGIE’s international business development in LNG

 

Required skills:

  • Minimum 2-3 years prior experience and proven track record as LNG commodity and freight operator
  • Additional experience in dry bulk or ammonia operations is a plus
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Attentive to detail, accuracy of execution, and ability to manage deadlines
  • Open communicator and team player
  • Open to share his/her experience while curious to learn about operations & energy markets
  • Comfortable with working on a trading floor and evolving business requirements while staying fully focused on daily tasks and targets

Education and professional background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, maritime studies, marine engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Veson Imos and Allegro platforms is a plus
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI

 

 

Languages:

  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Japanese, Korean or Chinese is not mandatory but would be advantageous, as the role involves handling documents and communication with counterparties in other countries.

Travels:

  • Occasional travel
