Your mission
  
As a Senior Lead Engineer in Structural Engineering, you will join Tractebel's Structural Engineering team, a key player in delivering complex infrastructure projects in Belgium and internationally. Our team comprises approximately 120 experts, lead engineers, design engineers, BIM modelers, and CAD draftsmen working from four locations in Belgium (Ghent, Hasselt, Brussels, and Namur) and in Romania.

The choice of which Belgian office you want to work from is entirely up to you.

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

  • Leading and managing structural engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Acting as an expert in structural engineering, providing technical design reviews and guidance for other projects within the department.
  • Driving the use of BIM and parametric design to enhance project efficiency and innovation.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including design engineers, geotechnical engineers, and draftsmen, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Preparing and presenting project proposals, offers, and contracts in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Ensuring adherence to Tractebel’s quality system and health & safety regulations throughout project execution.
  • Reporting project progress regularly to the management team.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Collaborating constructively with external stakeholders, such as architects, subcontractors, and contractors, during the construction phase.
  • Striving for sustainable and efficient engineering solutions in all aspects of your work.
  • Staying updated with the latest industry standards and innovations and sharing knowledge with team members.

 
 
We would love to hear from people with  
 

  • A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 20 years of experience in structural engineering projects, particularly involving complex infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, railways, and airports.
  • Proven expertise in leading and managing engineering projects, with experience across all project phases, including sales, contracts, design, studies, tendering, and execution.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with BIM and parametric design.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to maintain focus and composure under pressure, combined with a healthy dose of assertiveness and diplomacy.
  • Fluency in Dutch, with a good command of English or French being a plus.

Context:

The applicant will join the "Digital and Data Accelerator" (DDA) team. The primary objective of this team is to develop high-quality data products for our clients, focusing on critical areas such as fundamental data collection, historical asset data compilation, and production and consumption forecasting models. The DDA team engages in various strategic activities, including the development and rationalization of data projects, ensuring robust data governance, and maintaining high data quality standards. Furthermore, the team is tasked with structuring and piloting the data strategy within GEMS, reinforcing governance practices, and implementing a cohesive data architecture.

Role:

Working hand in hand with business and IT teams, the Data Engineer will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines.
  • Ensure the availability and quality of data.
  • Optimize the performance of data processing systems.
  • Interact with data scientists to understand their needs and adapt pipelines accordingly.
  • Implement best development practices and monitor production systems.

Context :

Under the authority of the Head of Compensation and Benefits and in close collaboration with the Senior C&B Specialist in Brussels, you will work within the HR Expertise Center of GEMS unit both in Paris and Brussels, with occasional travels oustide Brussels and Paris.      

You will be in charge of Comp and Ben initiatives and projects while ensuring the operational management of the reward processes and practices contributing to attract, retain and motivate high-quality employees while enhancing GEMS as the best place to work.

Your role :

As part of our team, you will play a central role in the HR Expertise Center of GEMS unit. You will be involved in various missions:

 

  • Ensure that our salary and bonus review process is well implemented in our reward digital tool (beqom) in close collaboration with the project owner (requirement definition, testing, return of experience…)

 

  • Ensure compliance of the C&B practices with the initiatives launched by the Engie Group, GEMS strategy and applicable local legislation and regulations (banking regulatory standards and requirements as CRDIV / IFR, IFD…),
  • Manage warrants campaigns, follow-up on withholding taxes and manage bonus collective to Belgian employees

 

  • Prepare payroll instructions and letters

 

  • Manage Flexible Benefits plan (My Choice) & new initiatives on Mobility budgets « Green » (+Car Policy)…

 

  • Work on the C&B processes simplification and automatization

 

  • Ensure the hands-on management of C&B processes and programs such as annual salary review, deferred compensation, LTI's and employee share ownership,

Finops department helps its internal clients by providing them with:

Finops power is team supporting the different Business Platforms power

Finance power team is part of finops power department. This team is organized in two sub-teams (middle office and controlling) and is  supported by a transversal expert.

The Middle office team is in charge of:

  • Following and validating on a daily/weekly/monthly basis the economical P&L
  • Preparing actuals, best estimate and budget reporting
  • Proposing enhancement of process and automation of tools related to middle office activities

The Controlling team is in charge of:

Role:

The senior financial controller will play a critical role within the FINOPS POWER TEAM. The responsibilities are structured across two key areas:

  1. Accounting & Financial Controlling
  • Validate accounting results in SAP, including integration check and reconciliation with manual elements.
  • Prepare posting batches for submission to the accounting team, ensuring compliance with internal controls and deadlines.
  • Prepare and analyze CFFO (Cash Flow from Operations) and S-P/turnover reporting.
  • Investigate Intercompany issues and propose corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Play the role of an accounting expert within the team, supporting colleagues and providing guidance on complex issues.
  • Support the preparation of the budget and represent the final figures within the group consolidation system.

Senior Business Controller & head of reporting Corporate BU

Your function:

  • Support in the elaboration and analysis of the various forecasting exercises, in particular in annual budget and Medium-Term Plan (MTP). Mainly through animating the dialog with the Business Areas, challenging and synthetizing financial and operational information and assisting in the definition of proposed target for the Business Unit (BU).

Your mission   

 

As Technical Officer in our Nuclear department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in : 

  • Provide expert guidance and support on various aspects of nuclear technology, safety, and regulations.
  • Provide close technical coaching to dedicated teams - lead the activities in his domain and ensures the development of the necessary tools & methods and environment

Your key responsibilities   

 

  • Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of nuclear systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Analyze complex technical issues, troubleshooting system problems, and offering recommendations for improvements or solutions.
  • Participate to the draft of offers and budget definition in own domain of expertise
  • Participate to meetings with customers as coordinator and technical advisor

 
We would love to hear from people with  

 

  • Master degree in Engineering. A degree in Nuclear Science constitutes a further asset.
  • 10 to 15 year experience in general nuclear safety (engineering, explotation, etc).Experience of modular reactors (PWR, MWR, LMFR, MSR)
  • Experience in engineering conception, safety analysis (DOC, PSAR, DSAR...), radiological calculations, equipment clasisfication and qualification. 

 

Who you are   

 

  • Language: Good knowledge of Dutch or French, and English.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear engineering, safety standards, and environmental regulations is crucial for the role.

Context:

In Engie’s commitment to encourage decarbonization, GEMS is playing a fundamental role in managing and optimizing the float of Renewable assets.

The Renewables Energy Systems IS team (RES IS) oversees a diverse array of tools essential for representing and managing the "green" assets, with a central emphasis on gathering and analyzing time series data produced by wind farms and solar panels.

Role:

As Core Technology Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and maintenance of our information systems within the renewable energy sector.

 

You will design, develop, and maintain backend infrastructure using PostgreSQL, AWS, and Python. Your goals include optimizing database performance, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval, and managing cloud infrastructure for scalability and reliability. You will lead a team of developers, provide technical guidance, and ensure high code quality, and smooth maintenance and delivery.

 

This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in software development and a proven track-record in delivering robust and efficient data-heavy applications in the cloud (AWS).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management:
    • Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
    • Write advanced SQL queries, views, functions and stored procedures to implement read and write database-level API (business transactions).
    • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance policies are implemented in all database systems.
  • Cloud Infrastructure:
    • Architect and manage AWS infrastructure to support backend services.
    • Utilize AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others to build scalable and cost-effective solutions.
    • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain high availability and performance and allow proper infrastructure management.
  • Backend Development:
    • Ensure efficient and secure handling of database operations through well-structured SQL and code.
    • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.
    • Ensure code quality, readability, and maintainability by following best practices and coding standards.
    • Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems.
  • Technical Architecture
    • Author High-level Design Documents for topics under the technical scope
    • Design systems for the implementation of data governance (and in particular data modelling and data architecture) under the technical scope
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to development processes.
    • Coordinate with middleware, DevOps, support and other teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in PostgreSQL, AWS, and Python.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve the backend architecture and processes.
    • Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies that can enhance the backend systems.

Hard skills:

  • Data Management: Knowledge of database systems, data warehousing, and data governance principles to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Proficiency in statistical analysis, data modeling, and data visualization tools to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.
  • Architecture Design: Ability to design scalable, robust, and efficient software architectures that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Comprehensive understanding of the various phases of software development, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, including leading Agile teams, conducting sprint planning, backlog grooming, and facilitating retrospectives.

Soft skills:

  • People Management: Experience in leading and mentoring development teams, providing guidance, coaching, and support to team members to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and cross-functional teams.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Experience in budget planning and resource allocation for development projects, including estimating costs, managing expenses, and optimizing resource utilization.

Education and professional background:

  • Master’s degree in engineering with a proven specialty in IT or equivalent
  • Prior experience developing high-performance data assets in the cloud
  • Prior experience (5+ years) in the management of database and/or backend development teams

Languages:

  • English as a working language [Mandatory]
  • Dutch or French [Recommended]

Travels:

  • Occasional travels to Paris
