What You Can Expect
The Project Developer supports a broad range of pre-construction development activities on projects within ENGIE’s utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States and Canada. This role involves assisting the development team with all aspects of early to late-stage project development, such as permitting, stakeholder engagement, public hearings, environmental site assessment, and project financing due diligence.
The Project Developer collaborates with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, as well as pre-construction, engineering, and project delivery to fulfill the company's renewable energy goals and growth strategy for wind, solar, and storage project development in North America. The Project Developer will support the development team to:
- Support Development Activities: Manage and drive development of utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects from feasibility to construction, including environmental assessments, permitting, interconnection, land acquisition, and design
- Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, and departments such as pre-construction, engineering, and project delivery to achieve renewable energy goals
- Engage Stakeholders: Engage with consultants, landowners, and stakeholders, attend public hearings, and ensure effective communication throughout the development process
- Research and Compliance: Stay updated on industry developments, tax incentives, and technologies; manage permit applications and interactions with local, state, and federal agencies, including Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) submittals, and remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities and industry trends
- Financial and Administrative Support: Develop project model underwriting assumptions, support off-take origination efforts, financing, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) discussions, prepare investment materials, and review pro forma financial models to understand how returns are impacted, and maintain database tracking project progress
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration, Finance, Energy, Economics, or a related field of study in which you have project development, permitting/planning, project management, or business development experience
- Minimum two (2) years related experience, in renewable energy development or other project development fields, with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement
- Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize critical path tasks effectively
- Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with public officials and agencies
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to present to diverse audiences, including landowners, potential off-takers, government officials, and corporate leaders
- Motivated self-starter, results-oriented, detailed professional who proactively pursues information and works well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be available to travel up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $86,100 – $132,020 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
