Key activities and competencies
For the construction of PV plant in the region , ENGIE is seeking a Planning Engineer to manage and coordinate all aspects of project scheduling, progress measurement, and planning control. The Planning Engineer will play a key role in monitoring progress, identifying delays or risks, and supporting decision-making to ensure the project is delivered on time and within scope. Responsibilities:
• Establish and manage the project planning control system and progress measurement methodology.
• In conjunction with the information provided by the EPC Contractor, prepare, analyse, and evaluate project schedules and planning data to support construction execution and reporting.
• Monitor deviations from the baseline schedule and perform analysis of slippage in coordination with package managers.
• Able to create own “shadow” implementation schedule as a reference for the Owner to being able to verify the credibility of the EPC Contractor’s schedule.
• Raise alerts to construction managers for any schedule variances or risks impacting project timelines.
• Develop, communicate, and implement planning procedures to ensure effective scheduling and progress tracking.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of schedule milestones and reporting formats.
• Provide planning inputs for progress reviews, internal reports, and stakeholder presentations.
• Maintain a structured documentation system for project planning records and deliverables.
• Support the integration of contractor schedules into the overall master schedule.
• Collaborate with the project controls team to align schedule, cost, and risk management frameworks
• interface with the EPC contractor to collect, validate, and update schedule inputs in alignment with project milestones.
• Track procurement and delivery schedules of key equipment to ensure alignment with construction sequences.
• Participate in weekly and monthly progress meetings to present schedule updates and highlight risk areas.
• Contribute to the preparation of recovery plans in case of delays and assist in the implementation of corrective actions. Challenge the EPC Contractor’s recovery plans based on the accuracy of the information and achievability of the plans based on given resources.
• Support contract management by providing time-related inputs for claims, variations, and extension of time assessments.
• Ensure planning activities comply with HSE requirements and integrate safety milestones and constraints into the schedule.

Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent field (or relevant operational experience)
experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience (including GCC experience) in project planning management, including:
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
• Proven ability to manage integrated schedules and perform critical path analysis
• Familiarity with project reporting tools and KPI dashboards
• Experience in planning and sequencing solar tracker installation, module mounting, and cabling works across large PV blocks.
• Familiarity with solar project milestones such as First Energization, Grid Synchronization, and PAC/FAC timelines.
• Involvement in coordinating planning between solar PV works and substation/grid interface works.
• Experience in managing planning data related to robotic cleaning systems, SCADA integration, and inverter commissioning.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining integrated EPC project schedules for utility-scale solar PV projects.
• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including resource loading, baseline management, and schedule analysis.
• Strong understanding of construction sequences, particularly for civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical scopes.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Knowledge of planning interfaces between PV systems and substations, including grid connection milestones.
• Exposure to risk management tools and techniques, including mitigation planning and what-if schedule analysis.
• Ability to support delay analysis, time impact assessments (TIA), and preparation of extension of time claims.
