Purpose of the Job 

To provide analytical and operational support to Demand Forecasting and Retail Hedging teams within the Portfolio Management function 

To ensure optimum data quality within demand forecasting process through portfolio consistency and metered & forecast data analysis, forecasting algorithm development. 

To support delivery of supply portfolio hedging activities 

To ensure portfolio data consistency with hedging and forecasting processes 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of forecasting models for different customers/customer types with a view to improve forecasting performance 
  • Ensure customers are appropriately set up in relevant forecasting systems and maintenance of portfolio data 
  • Management of customer consumption data 
  • Analysis of forecasting performance 
  • Capacity data submission to system operator 
  • Ensuring customer trade positions are fully up to date and consistent across all relevant systems. 
  • Ensuring forward trades and traded positions are consistent with view of trading counterparties. 
  • Production of analysis to support development of hedging and optimisation strategies. 
  • Production and development of hedging team KPI’s 
  • Support the delivery of Retail Profitability project 


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven ability to organise and produce work under tight deadlines 
  • Statistical analysis would be advantageous 
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex environment. 
  • Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or proven relevant industry experience

JOB PURPOSE:

Field Operator is responsible for safe operation, local monitoring, control and emergency handling of the RO plant equipment during shift operations in accordance with established procedures and dispatch requirements.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Ensures that the Local Equipment’s are operated and monitored as per established procedure in order to meet the dispatch instructions received from the Water Control Centre.
  • Operation, control, monitoring and emergency handling of local equipment from local PLC / SCADA.
  • Carry over the RO equipment start-up and shutdown as per the standard operation procedure (SOP).
  • Coordinate with Shift Engineers (SE) / Control Room Operator for Work Permit Isolations i.e. in isolating the equipment for Maintenance activities.
  • Collect local data for normalized permeate flow, normalised salt passage and normalised differential pressure calculation by using membrane normalization software program.
  • Preparing and maintaining the data for Daily and Monthly reports.
  • Closely monitor the chemical dosing system operation.
  • Help in Chemical Unloading and chemical stock monitoring.
  • Help in the chemical Cleanings, Flushing , Preservation (CIP) activities as and when required
  • Taken active participation in all types of operation activities, diagnosis and troubleshooting of Desalination Facility.
  • Record local data for shift reports and data reports in accordance with the WPA, O&M Agreement and Company procedures.
  • Records the routine data from local in the Shift Log Sheet.
  • Performs and monitors equipment changeovers and ensures healthiness of standby equipment.
  • Monitors the operational parameters of the systems and equipment and identifies the out of specification operations and suggests the corrective measures that need to be taken.
  • Supports the O&M Manager /Shift Engineer in performing Incidents Report and Root Cause Analysis and recommends corrective actions.

Context:

The Transversal Business BESS team facilitates the strategy, development and management of battery energy storage systems and other related power flex across the Engie regions. The team promotes exchange of BESS best practices across regions, with focus on:

  • Valuation methodology incl. risk-reducing portfolio effects with RES & Sales
  • Risk mandate incl risk .metrics and P&L reporting
  • Commercial dvpt. & structuring of BESS termsheets
  • IS connectivity, algorithms and data mgt

 

 

Role:

  • Act as SPOC for the Engie BUs on BESS & Flex valuation requests, thereby challenging, prioritizing and providing indicative ballpark estimations before conducting more in-depth studies
  • Collect, centralize and design the database to assess the risk reduction and value creation potential between the different Engie BU’s and entitities with power flexibility and/or intermittency risks of Engie
  • Contribute to the forward BESS & Flex valuation methodology in cooperation with Trading, Analysts, Quants and Strategy
  • Coordinate the global BESS input into the Risk mandate and Financial budget exercizes, and work on ad hoc BESS related topics for GEMS

Job Purpose/Mission

EEA is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to oversee and drive the quality assurance strategy for both web and mobile applications in a multi-tenant architecture. As a QA Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of QA engineers, developing comprehensive testing strategies, and ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security across multiple tenants.

· Leadership & Team Management:

Knowledge and skills

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.

Our Electrical and Instrumentation Technician II, located on the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA. will be responsible for maintenance and installation of plant and distribution electronics and instrumentation. We operate the power plants, steam, chilled water and drinking water plants on campus and at the Oakdale satellite location.  This Technician will also be working with metering communications and controls systems including network administration and security.

  

No two days are the same in this role. The only thing that is assured is that we are going to start the day focused on safety. We will be lining out the day’s work, safety procedures as required by OSHA and company policy  and making sure that we have the materials to complete the scheduled tasks safely and efficiently.  Skills like reading diagrams and schematics and drawings of utility systems are used daily.  We also troubleshoot and design and implement Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) both  electrically and through software and firmware configurations.  You will also recommend updates and system improvements for a variety of internal groups.

 

  • The daily work will consists of a  variety of  new installations and upgrades to unscheduled maintenance that will challenge your troubleshooting skills. This position requires multiple commitments. The first is to safety the second is to learning, and adapting to new systems, and software and maintaining your expertise in your craft.
  • This employee is required to be on-call on a scheduled basis and must be able to respond on location within one (1) hour of notification
  •  This role requires the ability to work in confined spaces in the plants and in utility tunnels throughout the campus.  You must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas, pipes and the like)

In 2020 The University of Iowa (UI) entered a 50-year, trailblazing partnership with the University of Iowa Energy Collaborative (UIEC), a joint venture between ENGIE, Meridiam, and Hannon Armstrong, to operate, maintain and enhance the university’s Utility System.  As the founding member of this joint venture, ENGIE designs, builds, operates, and maintains the energy infrastructure delivering safe, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable energy solutions in producing and distributing steam, electricity, chilled water, and domestic water to the main campus in Iowa City, Iowa and a nearby satellite campus.
