What You Can Expect

The Site Administrator role at the Prince Edward Island and Caribou Wind sites provides essential assistance to the Plant Manager and other plant management and technical staff. This position is crucial for maintaining smooth operations by handling administrative tasks such as procurement, budgeting, vendor management, and recordkeeping. The role also supports safety committee activities, coordinates travel, and ensures accurate documentation and reporting. The position requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

  • Cost and Procurement Support: Assist the Plant Manager with cost controls, budget preparation, vendor management, billing resolution, and preparation of reports and correspondence.
  • Safety Committee Involvement: Serve as a member of the local safety committee.
  • Purchase Orders Management: Generate, expedite, and close out purchase orders; assist with the delivery of orders.
  • Document and Report Production: Create documents and reports as requested by operational leaders.
  • Travel Coordination: Assist supervisors in scheduling and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Invoice and Inventory Management: Process invoices, maintain purchase orders, and keep accurate inventory records.
  • General Administration: Manage timesheets, recordkeeping activities, and plant accounting tasks.
  • HR Coordination: Collaborate with corporate HR for necessary assistance.
  • Routine Logs and Reporting: Maintain operating logs and reports for the plant.
  • Site Deliveries: Organize and receive deliveries at the site.
  • Other Duties: Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Technical Guidance and RFP Process: Understand the implications of variance technical options and able to guide engineering designs to achieve the best optimal solution for each situation. Support the balance-of-plant process, preparation of turbine installation bid documents, and the Request for Proposal process. Assist with the negotiation of construction contracts. Provide input to the pre-engineering and constructability reviews, driving procurement of long-lead equipment and assisting the Pre-Construction Department with the construction contracting strategy

Leadership During Construction: Provide leadership during project construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, cost, environmental, landowner, and other project requirements are met or exceeded. Ensure the execution of work in accordance with contracts and policies

Financial Analysis and Compliance: Consolidate and analyze budgets, costs, forecasts, and utilization against established financial goals

Collaboration: Support, and solicit input from, staff at all levels of the organization while establishing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues, and reinforce a team approach throughout the enterprise, both on projects and internal initiatives

Team Leadership and Development: Provide strategic direction and manage the development of Construction Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Construction Site Managers and provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to assigned staff at all levels

Resource Management/Staff Development: Provide primary support to HR Department in recruiting new talent and developing Project Management job descriptions. Is the leader to review Project Management candidates, interview, and recommend successful Project Management candidates to fill roles to grow the Delivery Project Management group

Build Customer Relationships: Develop effective relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, landowners, and other stakeholders. Establish effective and supportive relationships with colleagues, and solicit input from, staff at all levels of the organization. What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of equivalent technical training. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Engineering or Master of Business Administration    

  • Minimum 10 years in the utility scale energy sector including renewable energy, industrial construction, or capital project management
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, and supply chain management, environmental, building permitting, and transportation logistics
  • Basic knowledge of construction labor relations throughout the U.S and Canada
  • Basic knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), National Fire Protection Association, (NFPA), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at our Broomfield, CO office two weeks a month, with the balance of time at project sites or hybrid ENGIE office
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 50% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, for the use of hire cars or personal cars when traveling, to drive to site locations and meetings
  • This position consists of 35% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions

Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Mission

  • You have a good knowledge of low voltage systems: electrical cabinets / earthing / (emergency)lighting / security supply (UPS/generators) / lightning protection /  cabling, selectivity, voltage drop, etc
  • You have a good knowledge of very low voltage systems: data / fire detection / access control / CCTV / …

Position/Department Summary:

Technical Support (TS) provides engineering and technical support to Operation and Maintenance team at the Marafiq IWPP.

The main activities are the Engineering and Data Management in close coordination with Power Operations, Desalination and Maintenance departments.

Key tasks involve:

  • Supports the process for ensuring that all of the power plant assets within the Marafiq are compliant with engineering policies and all relevant statutory obligations associated with asset.
  • Monitoring and evaluating various relevant parameters to provide accurate information and provide analysis of the performance of the different process in the plant.
  • Preparation and submission of daily, weekly, monthly and any other report required by the business.
  • Assists in the implementation of this process on a cost effective and timely basis in conjunction with all other maintenance and overhaul activities.
  • Supports the management of engineering changes on plant systems, to ensure that they are executed in accordance with relevant Marafiq procedures.
  • Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of specific engineering work packages in support of these strategies as stand-alone activities or within the overall scope of major projects/overhauls.

 

Functions/ Task:

  • Ensures the compliance of IMS. Ensure a safe working environment for himself, his colleagues and contractors while working on any equipment
  • Ensures all  Method Statements Work Instruction and Procedures are followed by himself and Contractors while undertaking any work

Accountable for Outcomes:

  • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of an integrated planning process for Marafiq, which will effectively deliver these requirements, with the optimum balance of costs from plant downtime, resources and materials.
  • To implement the strategies for asset integrity and statutory compliance of plant systems on a cost effective and timely basis. This will involve close co-ordination with other members of the Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams to meet objectives via the efficient use of cross team resources
  • Support the development and implementation of appropriate change control processes. Ensure that all changes proposed for plant systems are reviewed and confirmed as consistent with the requirements of asset integrity, statutory compliance, and functionality prior to implementation, and that all appropriate documentation, including revisions to plant data, is produced, disseminated and stored appropriately.
  • Lead the detailed planning and co-ordination of each overhaul/major project event, including work packages being developed and implemented by other stakeholders within the O&M Team. Ensure that all resources (internal and external) and materials will be available as required. Manage the implementation of all activities, and ensure agreed HSE, quality, budgetary, program and resource productivity objectives are met.
  • Take overall responsibility for the management of HSE (with the sole exception of safety from the system) through all stages of planning, co-ordination, and execution of activities. Co-ordinate HSE activities of other stakeholders and provide expert advice and support as necessary. Develop and implement appropriate and documented HSE management systems to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, delivery of the required standards and continuous improvement. This shall include an effective internal audit regime to ensure compliance with objectives.
  • Support relationship management with key component and overhaul service suppliers. Develop appropriate long term contract strategies to deliver the optimum balance of initial cost, technical risk and commercial liabilities. Ensure that all contracts are implemented in due time to support program objectives for the delivery of key parts (new or refurbished) and services.
  • Provides technical support to operations, maintenance management and technical personnel

 

 

Job Context/Environment:

 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the post holder has delegated responsibility for planning and implementing all major project works undertaken by the Marafiq team and achieving the required HSE, technical, budgetary and program objectives.

 

The post holder will have a key role in the management of health and safety, and will need to take a proactive approach to developing appropriate management methods and promoting a positive HSE culture both within the Engineering team and other departments.

Proactive input to the planning processes for engineering, maintenance and operational activities by the post holder will be required in order to achieve the asset integrity objectives with minimum disruption to availability and with efficient use of internal and external resources. 

 

 

Working Relationships

What You Can Expect

Additional responsibilities include monitoring pressure reducing valves, completing logs at the end of the shift, and performing weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts. We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, production support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO II may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment such as the Hospital boiler and West Campus boiler.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends.

 

Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

You will be a part of a team that is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all utility plants and utility distribution networks on the University of Iowa Main and Oakdale campuses. Daily you will be performing preventative maintenance and repair work on campus, You will ensure all work is performed consistently with Engie’s culture of physical safety, process safety, and psychological safety for all staff, contractors, service providers, and stakeholders.  You will be determining jobsite work sequences and the safety procedures required for each task. You will work with various team members to procure materials, coordinates outages, and complete work by places systems back into service.  You will be performing and documenting pre-job hazard assessments and provide pre-job briefs as needed. Daily you will be completing Installs,  troubleshooting, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electric utility substation and distribution systems including but not limited to medium voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, cabling systems, and production plant electrical motors, starters, and controls up through 15kV.  You will be Interpreting and maintaining wiring diagrams, schematics, updating system logs, drawings, and documentation on utility systems.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Required to have a current Class A or B Electrician’s license valid in the State of Iowa
  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED, and completion of a formal Apprenticeship
  • Four (4) years of experience in the trade, inclusive of apprenticeship
  • Two (2) years must be working with high voltage (over 600 volts through 15kV) in an electric utility, power plant, or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of equipment and methods used in general industrial facility or utility maintenance work

  • Experienced with manufacturing, or district energy projects

Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135.00 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

Wat kan je verwachten?

Als ingenieur zal je werken voor ons “Buildings” departement in Hasselt en zal je verantwoordelijk zijn voor het aanbieden van je diensten en advies aan onze klanten. Je zal te maken hebben met de ontwikkeling en realisatie van verschillende soorten gebouwen, inclusief tertiaire en industriële gebouwen en sport infrastructuur. Onze projecten bevatten de feasibility, het basisontwerp, het gedetailleerde ontwerp en de technische bijstand en monitoring tijdens de eigenlijke constructie van het gebouw. Onze activiteiten zijn vooral gesitueerd in België, alhoewel we ook internationale projecten hebben in specifieke marktsegmenten!

 

Hoe zit het met de jobinhoud?

Als ingenieur in MEP:

  • Treed je op als centraal contactpunt voor MEP-gerelateerde zaken;
  • Neem je de leiding van een team BIM-modelleerders, ingenieurs en experten in MEP;
  • Zorg je ervoor dat jouw projecten uitgevoerd worden volgens de voorschriften van ons kwaliteitssysteem en de H&S regels;
  • Treed je van A tot Z op als electricity engineer bij de projecten (schetsen van de initiële ontwerpen van de installaties/equipment/werken, zorgen dat de dimensies van de installaties/structurele vereisten/equipment/werken kloppen, de schetsen en de vooruitgang van de grafische documenten en summary measurement sheets controleren);
  • Versterk je het geïntegreerde design proces door naar verschillende disciplines te kijken;
  • Werk je samen met externe partners (zoals architecten, design en engineering firms, aannemers, onderaannemers, etc.);
  • Blijf je continu je kennis delen en jezelf ontwikkelen via de Tractebel school!

 

 

Naar wie zijn we op zoek?

  • Master in de Industriële Ingenieurswetenschappen: Elektriciteit
  • Enkele jaren ervaring als ingenieur
  • Goede kennis van MEP-gerelateerde software
  • Goede kennis van het Nederlands en Engels
