What You Can Expect

As our Senior Accountant, you will ensure timely and accurate general ledger accounting and financial reporting. You will provide crucial accounting support to project teams and senior management. Additionally, you will develop processes, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate requirements across the function, supporting our Distributed Energy Solutions team. This role is primarily remote but applicants must be based in Houston, TX, Overland Park, KS, or Oakland, CA.

 

Responsible for general ledger accounting, allocations, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Will develop a working knowledge of the entity’s business operations and act as a primary Accounting Department contact.

Perform monthly and annual closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, payroll entries, and variance analysis.

Additionally, will perform review of leases, commissions, and sales/use tax.

Prepare and deliver financial statements and other reporting as requested.

 

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in Accounting, Finance or related field

A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in general ledger or consolidations accounting. 

You are proficient in general ledger, sales/use tax, consolidation, and inter-company accounting,

You are proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP

Experience with Kyriba, Coupa, or SAP Consolidation software

You will effectively communicate with internal and external parties in time-sensitive environments

Experience in the construction, renewables, or general contracting industry

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,900 – $114,770 USD annually

As the Health and Safety Advisor, based in Houston, TX, you will assist in the development and implementation of a Health and Safety (H&S) Management System and an Environmental Management System (EMS) that encompass standards of excellence, programs, policies, procedures, and processes (4Ps) for ENGIE’s Global Business Unit (GBU) Renewable & Flex Power North America. Your focus will be on supporting the Business Unit’s project development, construction, and operational activities. Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) your primary duties encompass:

 

  • Supports development and evolution of a H&S strategic plan in collaboration with executive leadership and H&S staff throughout ENGIE North America.  The plan must address working environments in Renewables, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction, operational and Green Hydrogen sites
  • Support HSE database management and provides required monthly statistical reports to GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America corporate and Business Entity (BE) executives.  Tracks the performance and progress of action plans, programs and processes
  • Conducts regular onsite training, supervision, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • As directed, leads serious incident investigations into High Potential (HiPo) incidents, including those that result in a lost time accident.  Applies Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools when conducting investigations to determine causal factors.  Identifies countermeasures to prevent recurrence and eliminate deviations from the standard
  • Provides guidance and acts as a role model for GBU HSE full time professionals, site managers, front line supervisors and general foremen in the effective implementation of the 4Ps
  • Supports design of the GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America HSE Management System in accordance with the ISO 45001 standard.  Researches new or revised OSHA regulatory requirements.  Anticipates changes and updates the 4Ps as required with follow on training for effective implementation
  • Supports development of the GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America H&S budget in collaboration with the HSE team
  • Manages the selection of third-party HSE auditors, consultants and contractors
  • Has a strong, proven track record of creating positive rapport with field personnel.  Supports and implements a communication strategy that promotes leadership engagement between management, front line supervisors, foremen, technicians / craft personnel and contractors to create a culture where HSE is a principle and not a priority
  • Supports implementation of observation programs that focus on pre-job/task activities.  Ensures the Job Safety Plan process permeates down to the granularity of the specific task assigned
  • Benchmarks the current state of safe work procedures against a “Best in Class” standard.  Orchestrates plans to close identified gaps in coordination with GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America H&S team
  • Coordinates reviews of contractor safety plans and procedures to assure their standard is equal or more stringent than GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America’s safety criteria as stipulated in the procurement Terms & Conditions.  Audits to ensure contractor H&S contractual obligations are understood and respected
  • Participates in process safety assessments on projects throughout the design phase
  • Develops and implements safe work management processes and programs including risk assessment, Lock-Out-Tag-Out and Permit to Work.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Business or a similar degree
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in electrical energy production, storage and distribution in design, construction and operational phases

  • Identify and develop appropriate cost/risk bricks to value PPAs and support investment analysis

  • Track, collect and synthesize actionable market intelligence. Assess impact of regulatory developments on commodity risk positions and provide feedback back to the front office.

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of four-year degree in which you completed courses in an analytical and quantitative (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Economics, Math) or other related discipline
