ROCC Operator I

What You Can Expect

As the ROCC Operator I located in Houston, TX, you will be working under the supervision of the ROCC Supervisor and in collaboration with Engineering, IT and Operations stakeholders, to monitor and coordinate the Real Time operation of ENGIE’s 4.5 GW of renewable fleet of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage assets across North America from the 24/7/365 Renewable Operations Control Center to ensure stable and reliable operation of generation facilities.

 

 

Every shift, you will complete daily monitoring duties, to include maintenance of a thorough operations log and completion of shift checklists, track progress using CROW software, and work through a customized orientation packet designed for onboarding ROCC operators at ENGIE.

 

 

  • Ensure the reliable operation of ENGIE renewable assets, to include maintaining continual communication with on-site personnel and Asset Managers 
  • Implement and coordinate ENGIE asset outages as needed to support preventive and corrective maintenance
  • During abnormal system operating conditions or when sites have individual problems, evaluate the situation, direct and coordinate the solution in collaboration with on-site personnel and ROCC supervision

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have an associate’s degree in engineering or a relevant trade qualification (e.g. power system technician, protection, and control technologist 
  • You are able to obtain a PJM Generation Dispatcher certification within 12 months of start date
  • You are eager to gain knowledge in wind and solar generation
  • You are familiar with power system equipment and technology
  • You are willing to gain knowledge on NERC Standards, both O&P and CIP, as they apply to Real Time operations and a medium-impact control center environment
  • You can identify and respond to plant and Bulk Electric System (BES) condition by modifying plant control setpoints for active and reactive power, isolating faulted power system elements and restoring forced outages
  • You can communicate and coordinate with other BES entities 
  • Transmission Operators, Independent System Operators, and Reliability Coordinators
  • You can execute switch orders prepared by Engineering and issuing work clearances to field maintenance crews
  • You can dispatch field maintenance crews to investigate abnormal conditions, and log actions, communications, and abnormal conditions for future review

  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, modified DuPont model
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies   
  • Ability to use company computer with Microsoft Suite of software tools and SCADA systems 

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 – $114,195 USD annually 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE is hiring a Student Intern to work for West County Wastewater’s Office of the General Manager. This position is created by a partnership with West County Wastewater (WCW) and ENGIE through the Clean & Green Project, a multi-year upgrade project at the Water Quality Resource & Recovery Plant in Richmond.

 

This student internship program will employ a multi-faceted learning program and creates an opportunity for you to apply your academic preparation to practical work experience in communications. You will work a hybrid schedule from WCW’s Water Quality & Resource Recovery plant in Richmond, CA. This internship is for the Fall semester from October 2024 to December 2024.

 

You will gain experience in marketing, social media work, and community outreach. There will also be public speaking, research, and copyediting. You will assist the Communications Manager, travel within the district to visit work sites, WCW’s Water Quality & Resource Recovery plant.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be enrolled at a local university or junior college.  This position is suited for students in STEM programs or studying Environmental Sciences, Communications, Graphic Design, or Communications programs or pathways

 

 

Additional Details

  • Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a three times per week basis and the possibility of some remote work

Context:

Within GEMS, the German Origination Desk is part of the local Business Platform (BP) Germany (CWE scope) and the Expertise Center (EC) Commercial. The main mission of more than 40 people is to develop energy market solutions and to accelerate the energy transition in Germany, offering our product ranges to renewable asset operators as well as our industrial client base. The team's main activities are focused on renewable energy services (wind / solar power purchase agreements), Market Access, Green corporate PPAs, certificate business, full supply and structured power and gas products (including green gas).

Role:

The RES Business Developer Support will work in GEMS, the energy management division of the ENGIE Group. Among other things the role consists of the following main activities:

  • Follow up with Salesforce (CRM tool)
  • Prepare and analyze pricing requests and track standard products (from asset description to pricing).
  • Contractual follow-up (monitoring of the operational process and verification of the respect of each step within the given deadlines)
  • Maintaining of certificates business flows
  • Working with the negotiation on the performance of our portfolio
  • Assistance in defining a commercial strategy (improving market visibility, e.g. identifying trade fairs, creating and maintaining communication tools, e.g. updating brochures and creating website content)

As the Software Support Engineer in Houston, Texas for ENGIE FlexGen (Flexible Generation including Storage, Thermal, and Hydrogen) North America you will be assisting with identifying root causes and resolving issues reported by users.   • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering or related field of study and two (2) years of professional experience designing and implementing database systems; in lieu of a degree, you should have four (4) years of professional experience in which you have gained an understanding of database systems
  • Hands on experience interfacing with users to collect information regarding issues encountered with various software systems and applications
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PERL, Python or similar
  • Understanding of software configuration management systems such as Git or Subversion

As our Project Controls Analyst II, you will be responsible for developing, administering, and implementing multiple industrial and construction capital projects related to the utility lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Manager(s) to develop, support, manage, and monitor cost and schedule elements of large capital projects across the Georgetown campus. You will use or develop processes and tools to measure, analyze, and improve project performance. In this role, you will be part of a self-managed team within the ENGIE team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You are a driven, creative, and ambitious individual, excited to embrace the team culture of a fast-paced and successful organization. This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports to the Project Controls Director.

 

 

  • Change Control and Contract Management: Assist in the review, development, issuance, and evaluation of contract change orders, manage the change control process, and support projections on cash flows, staffing plans, and contingency usage
  • Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with internal rules and guidelines, provide guidance and support during internal and external audits, and develop presentations for management updates
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with ENGIE subsidiaries, partners, and contractors, and provide support on finance, corporate governance, and fiscal matters

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management or related field

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience were you gaining experience in developing and managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring financial alignment with project goals
  • You have energy market experience in sectors such as utility-scale renewables, distributed generation, energy services or construction, and natural gas transportation or distribution
  • You are proficient with SAP, ProCore, MS Project, Power BI, Salesforce, or similar applications, and possess outstanding analytical skills with expertise in developing detailed Excel-based financial models
  • You are knowledgeable about the phases of civil or industrial construction work, including associated contracts, contract types (GMP, FP, T&M), and risk mitigation strategies, with a basic understanding of variance analysis and an intermediate understanding of Earned Value Management
  • You have strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities, allowing you to engage effectively with all stakeholders

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,400 – $87,150 USD annually

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What you’ll do:

Water Operations professionals at ENGIE North America are responsible for:

  • Safe and compliant operation of the University of Iowa Water plant ( A grade IV State of Iowa Surface Water Treatment Plant)
  • Supplying the drinking water to the University campus and Hospital facility
  • Operating the plant machinery, completing rounds assessing physical operating conditions of the equipment, and submitting / scheduling work orders performing water sampling, testing, and logging the sampling activities and reporting of operational conditions
  • After sampling and testing, adjusting and correcting all phases of the water treatment processes safely and efficiently
  • After developing competencies on our specific equipment and processes operators will be involved in instruction and training of other operators in plant procedures and processes related to equipment operation, sampling, testing, and reporting 
  • Other day to day duties include inventorying of chemicals and supplies, light maintenance and upkeep of the facility

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Operators will have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a State of Iowa Department of Natural Resources Class I Water Treatment Certification or Higher
  • Through education or experience the Operator will have developed a strong knowledge of occupational hazards and implementation of safety procedures regarding plant equipment, chemical handling and personal safety
  • You will have developed expertise in Water Treatment and plant operations, including usage of laboratory testing and measuring devices, making adjustments based on testing results  and remote telemetry systems for plant condition monitoring
  • You will have gained experience in evaluating equipment conditions, using complex prints, sketches, or diagrams to complete minor repairs or adjustments, and creating effective reports or work orders for  scheduling or contacting maintenance and management
  • You will have gained experience using Computers, and multiline phone systems, to create or give a detailed actionable verbal or written report to Stakeholders (Customers, Management, Maintenance)
  • Experienced with supervising vendors or contractors working on our equipment, ensuring safety practices in compliance with ENGIE policies and ensuring quality of repair or installation
