What You Can Expect

As the Senior Electrical Engineer you will be supporting assets in across the US for Solar, Wind, and BESS. You will be primarily part of the AMPS (Augmented Maintenance and Project Support) team that will be responsible for supporting the utility scale operations group by acting as a technical leader, ensuring the safe operation of the facilities, and ensuring the assets are maximizing production. This role will sit in Houston, TX and require travel to sites for on call support.

 

You possess an extensive working knowledge and hands-on experience with solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) technology, including the ability to troubleshoot and guide technicians remotely. You understand the operation of substations, including the operations of high and medium voltage equipment. You will assist site managers and operations engineers by ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, regulations, licenses, and plans. Your engineering expertise is crucial in preparing and reviewing reports, maintenance, and monitoring plans, and analyzing data to ensure environmental goals and objectives are adequately addressed. You provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable projects. Additionally, you assist site managers and construction engineers by ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, regulations, licenses, and plans. You lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures. You review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable NERC standards. You develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team, including misoperations, root cause analysis (Six-sigma, DMAIC, fish-bone), and safety-related events. Your knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI, is extensive. You are able to articulate, communicate, mentor, and provide guidance on addressing underperforming assets and develop plans to prioritize their return to service.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and utility experience

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 45% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As our Project Management, Senior (PM) working in a self-managed team concept, you will be a part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.  Our projects are located on two local University campuses, and includes the University Hospital. As part of this team you will be responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the campus. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $50M, with completion of each taking the span of 1-5 years.

 

This position is being hired in support of a 50 year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system.  The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and storm- and wastewater infrastructure.

 

No two days are the same, starting with the development stage  you will be submitting reports and conducting meetings with Team members, subcontractors and stakeholders on a regular basis, providing oversight and sharing updates on projects and planning, solving construction challenges through collaboration  and clearing the path and working towards successful completion. The key measurements of success are successful completion of projects with no health, safety or environmental and public relations,  on time and under budget.  You will be managing contracts for both Design and construction of capital projects within the central plants, and managing project teams made of internal staff, external consultants  and Operations and maintenance staff.

 

Additional duties include the following:

  • Administer design and construction contracts to include the development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work and principle contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts Management and the Procurement Department
  • Work with the University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects
  • Partner with Program Manager and Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify, justify, and prioritize potential projects

 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or  related field from an ABET accredited institution
  • You will have gained a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the successful management of construction or maintenance projects in which you gained experience with managing complex projects to successful completion, such as those involving schools, hospitals, manufacturing or universities
  • Possess or have the desire to achieve a PMP Certification
  • You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public

  • Every day you work with business developers and subject matter experts to develop the design documents and drawings for Electrical Energy Storage Systems connected to high voltage utility grid, to be used in project permit applications and engineering procurement construction (EPC) sourcing
  • Develop site layouts for Electrical Substations and Battery Energy Storage facilities
  • Create Electrical Diagrams for medium voltage and low voltage power networks and communication systems

As our Construction Manager (CM) II, you will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and facilitating the construction and commissioning of distributed-scale solar and energy storage projects. The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will be engaged in a broad range of business operation activities in support of project development and construction activities throughout ENGIE North America’s (ENA) portfolio of Grid Scale Renewables (utility-scale wind, solar and storage assets.)

 

The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will work in support of ENA’s Grid Scale Renewables Project Development, Project Delivery, and Commercial Strategy cross functional teams, in support of managers, directors and vice presidents within ENA’s Grid Scale Renewables’ Project Development, Project Delivery and Commercial Strategy teams.

 

Every day in this role your work will focus on establishing and maintaining various budget control processes, accounting forensic and issues resolution, SAP and COUPA project management controls, and routine CapEx budget reviews and reporting. The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will work independently with various corporate functional support groups (e.g., Accounting, AP, IT, FP&A and Procurement) to implement ongoing business operation processes and resolve identified issues.

 

  • Assist with the formation, establishment, and upkeep of SAP WBS projects/templates and the flow of information from SAP to grid scale renewables development and construction managers to perform their job responsibilities
  • Analyze, assess, and report on Project Development/Construction CapEx and Operations/Maintenance OpEx spend data to ensure quality and accuracy. Independently execute forensic accounting tasks to identify outliers and work directly with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to rectify errors. Routinely produce, assess, and distribute monthly project status reports. Update, modify, and review budgets with managers, addressing outliers as supplemental budgets are approved and contingencies are released. Highlight approaching budget constraints and risks to ensure proactive management
  • Assist development, construction, and project managers with the establishment of projects and full life cycle budgets in SAP
  • Preparation of annual cash spend plans and routine cash forecasting exercises
  • Identify process gaps and opportunities for improving existing processes. Proactively engage and work with various corporate functions to roll-out new or updated business processes and tools
  • Develop and maintain documentation and process flows to define various business processes, and collaborate with Project Controllers on budget management, scheduling, and quality control initiatives to enhance these processes
  • As required, lead training and orientation efforts surrounding the use of legacy business systems/tools and the roll-out of new enterprise systems. Also responsible for coordinating these efforts with applicable corporate functional groups
  • Work with development managers, Accounting and Procurements to transition historic costs and established purchases to full life cycle project budgets and templates. In relationship to this activity, ensure the accounting and purchasing history of all Safe Harbor tax credit equipment are accurately assigned to applicable projects
  • Facilitate and maintain comprehensive documentation and process flows that delineate the operational procedures of our business units
  • Provide support to Project Controllers by contributing to various initiatives aimed at budgeting, scheduling, and quality control to enhance business process

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Systems, Economics, Engineering, Accounting/Finance or in a closely related field of study in which you have learned project management, financial reporting, auditing, management and analyzing of data, optimization of data and business processes, identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role

Every day in this role your work will focus on establishing and maintaining various budget control processes, accounting forensic and issues resolution, SAP and COUPA project management controls, and routine CapEx budget reviews and reporting. The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will work independently with various corporate functional support groups (e.g., Accounting, AP, IT, FP&A and Procurement) to implement ongoing business operation processes and resolve identified issues.

 

  • Assist with the formation, establishment, and upkeep of SAP WBS projects/templates and the flow of information from SAP to grid scale renewables development and construction managers to perform their job responsibilities
  • Analyze, assess, and report on Project Development/Construction CapEx and Operations/Maintenance OpEx spend data to ensure quality and accuracy. Independently execute forensic accounting tasks to identify outliers and work directly with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to rectify errors. Routinely produce, assess, and distribute monthly project status reports. Update, modify, and review budgets with managers, addressing outliers as supplemental budgets are approved and contingencies are released. Highlight approaching budget constraints and risks to ensure proactive management
  • Assist development, construction, and project managers with the establishment of projects and full life cycle budgets in SAP
  • Work with other stakeholders to identify gaps and opportunities for improving existing processes
  • Develop and maintain documentation and process flows to define various business processes, and collaborate with Project Controllers on budget management, scheduling, and quality control initiatives to enhance these processes
  • As required, lead training and orientation efforts surrounding the use of legacy business systems/tools and the roll-out of new enterprise systems. Also responsible for coordinating these efforts with applicable corporate functional groups
  • Work with development managers, Accounting and Procurements to transition historic costs and established purchases to full life cycle project budgets and templates. In relationship to this activity, ensure the accounting and purchasing history of all Safe Harbor tax credit equipment are accurately assigned to applicable projects
  • Facilitate and maintain comprehensive documentation and process flows that delineate the operational procedures of our business units
  • Provide support to Project Controllers by contributing to various initiatives aimed at budgeting, scheduling, and quality control to enhance business process

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Systems, Economics, Engineering, Accounting/Finance or in a closely related field of study in which you have learned project management, financial reporting, auditing, management and analyzing of data, optimization of data and business processes, identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks

  • Provide technical support to ensure project completion within regulatory standards and budget constraints

Commissioning Duties:

  • Develop and implement a commissioning philosophy, plan, schedule, standards, and procedures
  • Refine commissioning methodologies and tools to support organizational growth
  • Collaborate with project managers to create and finalize punch lists before system/equipment commissioning
  • Ensure pre-commissioning and commissioning provisions are included in engineering drawings and specifications
  • Verify design and equipment compliance with owner requirements and commissioning plans through reviews of submittals, manuals, reports, and training programs
  • Analyze test results and generate reports to confirm technical specification adherence
  • Initiate commissioning plans and coordinate pre-commissioning activities, including factory acceptance tests

Utility Plant Operator I

What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator I (UPO I) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This equipment includes, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control valves, mobile equipment, and other industrial equipment.

 

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks to be completed. The primary task of a UPO I involves the safe operation of the plant's equipment. You will conduct hourly rounds, monitoring equipment status, checking for leaks or abnormalities. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping tasks, and completing logs at the end of rounds and shift. Assisting with weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts.

We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO I may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment located at the Hospital and West Campus.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends.

 

Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

  • A minimum of two (2) years industrial plant,  process plant, shipboard power & propulsion or power plant experience operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors or similar experience

What You Can Expect

As the Associate Software Developer in Houston, Texas for ENGIE’s North America’s Global Energy Management & Supply (GEMS) Group, you will work alongside a software development team to design and develop web and cloud-based applications using the Microsoft .NET framework and Azure platform. Every day, you will report to the Director of Solutions Development to assist with meeting goals of the team’s transformation through implementing redesigned systems and processing using the latest digital technology.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS curriculum and a minimum of two (2) years of experience with C# and .NET frameworks in a professional work setting; In lieu of a four -year degree, you should bring a total of a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in which you have gained an understanding of software development where you have designed and developed web and cloud-based applications
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 
  • Understanding of how to use Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage
  • Knowledge of Git or other version control systems
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Accept and perform code reviews based on defined coding standards and contributes to coding standards
  • Possess the ability to  coordinate with product owners, architects, and system owners in the testing of new features

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 – $114,195 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
