We are looking for a QHSE Manager to support efficiently the expansion of our activities in Energy. You will participate actively in improving the QHSE culture in TRACTEBEL Thailand and SEA region  by supporting, reviewing, and initiating appropriate QHSE processes. You will evolve in an international environment and work in close coordination with other teams throughout the company to deliver projects at the highest quality standards.


You will be integrated into the Tractebel Energy community, a worldwide network of Energy specialists keen on sharing their knowledge.

Missions

 

  • Report to the Head of HR, QHSSE, Communications APAC.
  • Promote a QHSE culture within the Organization and support for the continual improvement.
  • Implement the QHSE requirements coming from the Group. Well versed in the development of the QHSE management system as and when required.
  • Support the organization in getting the ISO certifications (e.g 9001, 14001, 45001 etc.) and maintain the same by performing all action and arrangement needed to maintain the certification.
  • Realize an internal audit of the practices in Health and Safety, Quality and Environment in Tractebel Thailand and SEA region. 
  • Propose an action plan to support, review and implement the processes in Quality (including Project Management), HR, Finance, Ethics & Compliance, Health and Safety, Environment, and Knowledge Management recommended by the Group. 
  • Participate in the implementation of the action plan through communication actions, trainings, procedures, and risk evaluation.
  • Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters and ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, project contractual requirements and good industry practice.
  • Create a reporting and KPI in QHSE for the region. 
  • Perform safety audits at site based on risks assessment. 
  • Provide technical advice and training to employees on QHSE initiatives and necessary changes.

What You Can Expect

As our Construction Management, II (CM) at The University of Iowa you will have the critical role of managing safe efficient construction projects across the University of Iowa Campus.  These projects are focused on Energy and Utility improvements and are located on the Main and Oakdale campus and include the University Hospital.

 

This position is being hired in support of a 50 year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system. The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and storm and wastewater infrastructure.

 

No two days will be the same, you will be conducting meetings with employees, subcontractors and the University or other stakeholders, preparing and executing Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans for Capital Improvement and efficiency projects, this includes provisions for site access and security credentials or traffic control to the work areas. Before breaking ground, you will be walking job sites and coordinating with GIS analysts and locators to make sure buried utilities are properly identified and that construction work and job safety plans take these potential hazards into account. During construction phase you will be walking the jobsites checking on safety and project completion, consulting with Engineers, Contractors, and Project Management ensuring that the project meets standards and code, conforms to our approved specifications and drawings. A key part of the role will involve communicating with project stakeholders on the progress, issues and concerns and to work through them collaboratively. When the project work involves taking a service outage, which happens often, you’ll need to coordinate the outage with stakeholders well in advance using established processes. Every step of the way, you’ll be expected to provide a QA/QC oversight of the work, to ensure the work meets specifications and passes required inspections.

 

As the project wraps up, you will lead the punch list and commissioning processes.

  • Support bidder site visits during the contracting phase and manages Requests for Information (RFI)
  • Support cost estimation and scheduling for projects in development/design
  • Support the Project Manager with Technical/Commercial oversight Including:
    • Review of change requests, directives
    • Review of monthly payment applications from Contractors and Construction Administrators
  • Opine on constructability through the review of Contractor plans, determining if special operator access or maintenance provisions are required
  • Provide field input to assist the project manager in tracking and reporting of schedule and budget performance during the construction phase
  • Partner with project engineers to develop a project procedures manual, providing the framework for construction addressing mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation & controls and administrative fundamental requirements

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You will have  a minimum of a high school diploma  or GED and two (2) years of experience in the successful management of industrial or municipal construction projects in which you gained a practical understanding of design, construction and operations of thermal plants and distribution
  • You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
  • You will have demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members  and exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints and the resolution of conflict situations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met
  • Experience in evaluating request for quotes / request for proposals in industrial construction environments
  • Experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management 
  • You will have gained experience creating presentations and professional  communications, using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other Project Management tools, to create written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders including contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Practical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

 

 

Additional Details

  • Not eligible for ENGIE Hybrid Schedule
  • This position is requires daily presence on active construction sites.
  •  Remote work is available only by exception
  • Some Night or weekend work is possible based on project schedules
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • OSHA 10 certification is required within first 30 days, OSHA 30 certification within one year of hiring
  • Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license and clean driving record
  • This role requires the safe operation of  company vehicles
  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 – $114,195 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

Che cosa farai?
Riporterai all’Head of Construction e, in coordinamento con il team, assicurerai l’esecuzione operativa dei contratti affidati attraverso la gestione efficace delle risorse, garantendo la soddisfazione del cliente nel rispetto del budget, delle procedure aziendali in materia di etica, qualità e sicurezza e delle normative applicabili.


Quali saranno le tue responsabilità?
•Gestirai l’esecuzione complessiva del portafoglio progetti assegnatogli (rispetto delle condizioni e prestazioni contrattuali, applicazione, modifiche, reclami, contenziosi) supervisionando e coordinando i Project Manager;
•Curerai la fidelizzazione del Cliente;
•Verificherai periodicamente il budget della commessa assicurandone la marginalità;
•Supervisionerai il reporting verso il cliente e verso il team di commessa;
•Supervisionerai il rispetto delle tempistiche dei progetti a portafoglio, interfacciandosi con i PM e Planner;

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the Project and Site management work of Building Management Systems (BMS) or control system for the utility plant such as chilled water/steam/compressed air etc. 
  • Plan, oversee project works' schedule, installation Sequence of Works and BIM in coordination with the main contractor, ENGIE project and Facilities Management (FM) teams, sub-contractor and control system application engineers 
  • To schedule deliverables of all materials for the project in timely manner
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved on time and meet project requirements 
  • Ensure project completed on schedule and within budget 
  • Plan, submit and keep track of shop drawings' and materials' submissions
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle 
  • Perform site management for the delivery works, delivery inspections, installation works, installation inspections, testing and commissioning and handover of BMS and control system to Operations & Maintenance (O&M)/Control System Service team and clients 
  • Track and update project progress in timely manner
  • Assist in servicing, maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems, live applications and associated networks as and when required 

 

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Automation/Building Technology) or equivalent 
  • At least 3 years experience in HVAC and BMS industries or M&E related fields 
  • Knowledge of HVAC control applications, BMS and electrical power management systems 
  • Ability to build and install BMS and control system to monitor and regulate various building services, including chillers, heat exchangers, ACMV, lighting and power metering etc. 
  • Has a good safety mindset
