Reporting into Head of Business Development (Mixed Use - Malaysia), the Business Development Manager is part of Malaysian Engie Team (Engie Services Malaysia) and is responsible for building a portfolio of opportunities with customers in the mixed-use retail and real estate sector in Malaysia.

Together with the local and regional Business development and technical teams, you manage the creation of proposals aligned with ENGIE’s value propositions (delivering integrated energy and broader sustainability solutions to our clients), while ensuring compliance with client requirements. As a key member in the business development team, you are a hands-on project manager, sparring partner and coach to successfully guide our offers. You like to take the lead, dare to give your opinion, advice, and take a flexible approach.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own a network of real estate clients, who you can contact to offer integrated onsite utility solutions with focus on onsite and district cooling solutions.
  • Prepare customized solutions for building owners to optimise their energy offtake and negotiate proposals from start to end.
  • Track environmental policies and build commercial service offerings that can answer the existing and emerging trends in Malaysia.
  • Serve as single contact for preparation of commercial offers in collaboration with all services required (technical, financial and contractual) with close coordination with Head of Business Development – Mixed Use.
  • Draw on ENGIE’s expertise, skills and resources to develop winning strategies for preparing offers.
  • Master technical, financial and commercial project presentation to the client with the support of the relevant teams.
  • Identify and maintain strong relationships and an appropriate governance structure with key client stakeholders.
  • Deliver and oversee accurate and timely critical reporting, including internal and corporate reporting
  • Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively.
  • Providing strategic direction and guidance on ways to enhance and expand services offering to the client.

 

Job requirements:

  • Engineering Degree in Energy Management, Engineering or Environmental Management or equivalent
  • Relevant Industry Accreditations such as Green RE, LEED, WELL, Certified Energy Auditor will be looked upon favourably.
  • Good understanding of energy sector and governing policies in Malaysia (ie – Green RE Certification, local regulation and key trends in the mixed use segment)
  • Have a keen interest and enthusiasm for sustainability, onsite cooling and district cooling.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers, client centricity is a vital element of this role.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with proven experience in reasoning and presenting a convincing argument
  • Strong business acumen and commercial intelligence to innovate, and drive solutions to clients.
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills and able to persevere to close deals

What You’ll Bring

  • Working knowledge of utility rate schedules
  • Solid working knowledge of HVAC and/or solar photovoltaic systems, including the ability to identify different systems and equipment, identify potential energy savings measures, and quantify the potential energy savings and costs
  • Understanding of metering and measurement tools and the data provided

Compensation

The Engineer II is a role responsible for supporting the development and installation of energy conservation measures and renewable energy with large-scale public sector customers. The Project Management, Advisor is the primary manager of all phases of an energy project, with the objective of successful completion on time and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety, and cash management standards, and producing strong customer references. Assigned projects will include a combination of energy efficiency measures, facility renovations, renewable generation installations, and various carbon reduction strategies, to help public sector, commercial and industrial customers around the United States become more sustainable, save money, and improve their processes and facilities. In this role, you will manage one to several projects simultaneously from early development through post-construction, including design, procurement, contract negotiations, and project implementation.

 

In addition to assigning responsibilities to the project team and establishing schedules for individual team members, the Project Management, Advisor oversees various technical aspects of the project. This includes developing the project scope, conducting savings analysis, and ensuring the feasibility of proposed measures. Collaborating with the Sales team, you will evaluate and qualify opportunities and participate in customer presentations and interviews during the development phase. As one of the primary customer contact during the development and implementation phases, you will ensure complete customer satisfaction with ENGIE’s services. You will liaise with the Legal department to prepare and negotiate customer agreements and change orders, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. The Project Management, Advisor is also responsible for managing all cost components throughout project implementation, maintaining precise budget records, and promptly notifying supervisors of any necessary adjustments. You will work alongside the construction manager to establish a comprehensive project schedule with regular progress milestones, ensuring timely completion. Alongside these responsibilities, you actively engage with Accounting to facilitate monthly customer invoicing and address any payment delays or issues proactively. You will ensure compliance with local labor regulations and oversee the timely completion of monitoring set-up packages and final job close-out information.

 

This position is in Detroit, Michigan so there is an option of being remote within the state of Michigan and will report to the Project Management Director.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in which you have gained a knowledge of construction management, engineering elements, and project management functions
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience in project management and/or engineering of complex projects including training and certifications
  • You are proficient with MS Office; including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Skillful in financial analysis skills to predict customer project economics and manage project budgets
  • Strong negotiation skills that protect ENGIE’s interests on a given project, while building customer and vendor/subcontractor rapport

As our Project Management Senior (PM) working in a self-managed team concept, you will be a part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at the beautiful University of Iowa Campus in Iowa City, Iowa.  Our projects are located on both the main and Oakdale  campuses and include the University Hospital. As part of this team you will be responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the campus. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $50M, with completion of each taking the span of 1-5 years. 

 

This position is being hired in support of a fifty (50) year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system.  The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, as well as storm and wastewater infrastructure.

 

No two days are the same, starting with the development stage  you will be submitting reports and conducting meetings with Team members, subcontractors and stakeholders on a regular basis, providing oversight and sharing updates on projects and planning, solving construction challenges through collaboration  and clearing the path and working towards successful completion. The key measurements of success are successful completion of projects with no health, safety or environmental and public relations,  on time and under budget.  You will be managing contracts for both Design and construction of capital projects within the central plants, and managing project teams made of internal staff, external consultants  and operations and maintenance staff.

 

Additional duties include the following:

 

  • Administer contracts to include the development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work and principle contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts Management and the Procurement Department
  • Work with the University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects
  • Partner with Program Manager and Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify potential projects and develop business justifications

 

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in a technical field from an ABET accredited institution
  • You will have gained a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the successful management of construction or maintenance projects in which you gained experience with managing complex projects to successful completion, such as those involving schools, hospitals, manufacturing or universities 
  • Possess or have the desire to achieve a PMP Certification
  • You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
  • You will have gained expertise in developing work packages for execution to include: statement of scope, change management, performance testing, QA/QC requirements, parts/tools, man-hours, material procurement, technical data sheets, drawings/specifications, task procedures and job safety plans

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, and participate in implementing retro-fit works, decommissioning/re-commissioning IT racks, new installation of electrical circuits.
Defining project scope and perform project estimates.
Manage all aspects of the design.
Provide quotations for works to client organisation, ensure project estimates are accurate and the project scope is executable within the budget
Oversee and coordinate the submission of material submittals, drawings, and method statements for client approval
Obtain, Coordinate and oversee subcontractor project executions
Prepare project implementation schedules/plans.
Communicate project, subcontractor and package updates to line manager.
Plan, oversee and complete all startup, testing and commissioning functions.
Review subcontractor BOQs and invoices for accuracy and completion and verify subcontractor completed works are in line with contract requirements
Create project commissioning plans and system specific templates and tests for subcontractor testing
Coordinate with clients on project documentation, health and safety requirements and subcontractor compliance
Oversee various contractors and internal staff during design, specification, bid, installation and management phases
Support procurement team in creating project RFPs based on project requirements and float them for tender and bidding in the market
Manage approvals, completion of work and payment of project consultants and contractors
Make site visits to verify and confirm project performance/QHSE and operation
Maintain organized project files and information for reporting to client, invoicing and company performance in company standards and format
Monitor project budgets and schedule and oversee performance to ensure on time, quality and on budget project execution, manage invoicing of all works completed.
Prepare periodic reports for management including status of budgets, variance/change claims, schedules, disputes, up-coming activities & safety records.
Ensure that the health and safety requirements are provided and that they comply with Engie & authorities regulations.
Provides guidance, managerial, technical support to complete project team.
Work hours at dictate of project timing but generally 5 Days/10hr.

The Data Center Facilities BMS/DCIM Operator is responsible to supervise and control the operation of the building management system (BMS) & Data Center infrastructure Management (DCIM) System and monitor all Electrical, ELV, and fire/life safety equipment, HVAC plant activities of the Data center building services within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains Building Management System (BMS) for proper function and monitors the DCIM against approved benchmarks to include; HVAC, Lighting, Fire Suppression, Generator, Plumbing, and Electrical

Carry out routine checks for correct operation of all control equipment as directed by Facility Engineer

Monitor the operation of the HVAC control systems using the BMS/DCIM to monitor performance.

Adjust variables and provide adjustment as required to ensure systems are operating correctly within parameters.

Monitor and record values of HVAC systems to build up a database of records to provide data for energy efficiency improvement.

Communicate all maintenance and repair actions in writing for information to management as required.

Should follow the Protocols if any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.

Monitors and verifies operation of all BMS/DCIM field devices.

Adjusts BMS settings and parameters to meet changing conditions, i.e., Load, Environmental, Customer needs, etc.

Records maintenance data and generates reports as needed.

Maintains job card documentation for all Alarms or changes to systems and/or equipment.

Monitors of fire detection alarm system, such as smoke detector, heat detector, sprinkler, and emergency exit, in coordination with Safety Function.

Monitors of Water tank supply level alarm, air handling unit, fresh air handling unit.

Monitors and controls the Fire pump system, motors, sewage pump, electrical system, water system in the Data Center building.

Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his Facility Engineer

Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s and keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.

Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards which Engineer assigns.

Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.

Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.

Comply with all safety procedures and requirements

Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required

Attend training sessions and seminars.

Skills Required:

The Project Manager Advisor is the primary manager of all phases of an energy project, with the objective of successful completion on time and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety, and cash management standards, and producing strong customer references. In this role, you will manage one to several projects simultaneously from early development through post-construction, including design, contract negotiations, and project implementation.

 

In addition to assigning responsibilities to the project team and establishing schedules for individual team members, the Project Manager Advisor oversees various technical aspects of the project. This includes developing the project scope, conducting savings analysis, and ensuring the feasibility of proposed measures. Collaborating closely with the Sales team, they assist in customer presentations and interviews during the project's development phase. Furthermore, they liaise with the Legal department to prepare and negotiate customer agreements and change orders, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. The Project Manager Advisor is also responsible for managing all cost components throughout project implementation, maintaining precise budget records, and promptly notifying supervisors of any necessary adjustments. Additionally, they work alongside the construction manager to establish a comprehensive project schedule with regular progress milestones, ensuring timely completion. Alongside these responsibilities, they actively engage with Accounting to facilitate monthly customer invoicing and address any payment delays or issues proactively. Finally, they ensure compliance with local labor regulations and oversee the timely completion of monitoring set-up packages and final job close-out information.

 

This position will sit in Sacramento, CA and will report to the Director of Project Management.
