What You Can Expect

The Pre-Construction Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible for fostering grid scale wind, solar, and storage projects through the pre-construction phase of project development.  Successful execution of this position requires clear and consistent coordination of multiple project stakeholders including developers, contractors, vendors, owners, and financing partners. In this role you must have exceptional project management skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex problems. 

 

Every day in this role you will provide project management coordination and support for large and complex wind, solar, and storage projects during the pre-construction phase of the project. 

 

  • Manage request for proposal (RFP) process for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) services
  • Manage commercial aspects of all project related contract negotiations
  • Support pre-construction activity including site studies, surveys, preliminary engineering, and estimating
  • Support internal project capital expenditure approval processes to secure budget for Project Delivery scope
  • Coordinate and support internal stakeholders including development, engineering, interconnection, and power marketing teams with Capex input requests
  • Coordinate and manage key project stakeholders including Balance of Plant (BOP) EPC contractor
  • Support major equipment (modules, wind turbines, batteries, and substation) procurement processes
  • Participate in the negotiation of key project contracts including Major Equipment Supply Agreements and BOP-EPC Agreement
  • Ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan
  • Continually assess project risk and maintain project Risk Register during preconstruction phase
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all parties involved in the development and approval of the project

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of project management and procurement in utility scale renewable energy or heavy construction experience in renewable energy projects
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred. However, we welcome candidates with equivalent experience or other relevant certifications
  • Experience with various project & construction management software tools, e.g., Procore
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
  • Ability to adapt in a demanding, fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven track record of managing projects with results that meet all stakeholder goals
  • Ability to problem solve and achieve results by setting priorities and staying organized

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

The Director of Development will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across California with an emphasis on locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles Basin.   • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in California, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company
  • Manage and/or support due diligence activities for acquisitions
  • Manage negotiation of lease/purchase options and agreements for site control
  • Coordinate engineering activities in pursuit of permits and as required for interconnection matters

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental, Science, Management, or another Analytical field required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant work experience and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in energy storage or renewable energy development, with experience in project management, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, California Environmental Quality Act “CEQA”, planning, real estate, and other matters critical to development in California
  • Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects in California
  • Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements
  • Ability to manage a large workload across a large portfolio, while prioritizing tasks and effectively managing competing deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of the CAISO market with particular focus on interconnection, regulatory and offtake matters
  • Ability to evaluate development status and efficiently inform critical decision making with management

Jouw uitdaging als Draaier/Frezer

  • Als draaier frezer binnen de onderhoudsafdeling sta je in voor het maken van onderdelen en werktuigen voor onze installaties
  • Je werkt samen met je collega's in een teamomgeving om tot oplossingen te komen
  • Doordat je te werk wordt gesteld binnen een onderhoudsafdeling, word je niet blootgesteld aan massaproductie: veel verschillende uitdagingen en afwisseling gegarandeerd
  • CNC werk en programmeren gebeurt vooral op de machine zelf
  • Je krijgt de nodige opleidingen om veilig en kwalitatief te werken
  • Dit is een functie met eventuele doorgroeimogelijkheden tot werkvoorbereider, na voldoende ervaring binnen de functie

  • Je hebt een diploma mechanische technieken of gelijkgestelde ervaring (>5 jaar ervaring)
  • Je kan conventioneel draaien en frezen
  • Je beschikt over een goede kennis van CNC-technieken of je hebt een zeer grote interesse om dit te leren

Process Safety & Risk Engineer (H/F)

The mission of the Flex Generation & Retail Global Business Unit (F-GBU) is to contribute to ENGIE’s development and accompany the energy transition, with renewables balancing and industry decarbonation. To achieve this, the GBU will leverage on the industrial and digital expertise of its 15,000 engaged employees.

The GBU has three main activities, with a common challenge/opportunity around the decrease of CO2 emissions:

- Flex Gen: 60 GW of power production capacities – mainly from gas – and power storage; and world #1 in water desalination

- Supply: 22 million B2C contracts of power & gas sales and associated services in 5 main countries; energy access benefitting to 6 million lives in Africa

- Hydrogen: large-scale green hydrogen production and a role of hydrogen coordination within ENGIE

- Battery storage: the newly created BESS cockpit aims to build a portfolio of 10 GW of batteries capacity by 2030.

In Flex Gen, the GBU targets to maintain its operational excellence and reach 90% availability for its fleet. A clear roadmap towards a green portfolio has been set including selective growth in focused geographies and coal exit by 2025 in Europe and 2027 in the World.

In B2C Supply, the GBU aims at increasing the share of services and power sales, while reducing CO2 emissions by 34% from 2017 to 2030 (incl. B2B Supply).

The GBU targets the long-term development of hydrogen, with an objective to build a green hydrogen production capacity portfolio of 4 GW by 2030.

 

The F-GBU HQ is recruiting : A Process Safety & Risk Engineer

(Based in Paris)

 

 

 

ROLE

• Steer and support the new projects on Process Safety through conceptual up to operational readiness, including also Hydrogen projects.

• Champion the process safety and technological risk during engineering and execution phases of those projects.

• Ad hoc support on Process Safety Management on existing operational assets and entities.

 

RESPONSIBILTIES

 

Compliance with laws and regulations

• Interpret regulatory requirements for different countries and ensure that the appropriate HSE studies are developed during the project phases in a timely manner (particularly those required for the permitting process),

• Validate requests submitted for exemption from application of reference procedures.

 

Process Safety Management and risk evaluation during DESIGN and CONSTRUCTION activities

• Ensure that Process Safety Management principles and best practices are implemented early in the design phase of each project

• Ensure that a risk based approach is undertaken to the development of the project (which may be over and above the basic prescriptive requirements of the country)

• Define the list and contents of process safety deliverables required for the scope of the project and regulatory requirements

• Prepare/review/validate the Scope of Work for the engineering contractors

• Prepare and evaluate the HSE prequalification questionnaires and support the bid assessment processes

• Liaise with the client / partner in terms of permitting support and interfaces on HSE

• Issue/validate studies performed prior to submission to authorities for the permitting process

• Oversight the EPC contractors / Owner Engineers on Process Safety Management

• Review and comment HSE/safety deliverables issued by the contractors

• Track progress on projects ensuring that deliverables are undertaken in a timely manner and at the required quality

• Participate proactively in HSE workshops and monitor, follow up and assess agreed recommendations and ensure their implementation

• Interpret and make recommendations based on findings of the safety studies (QRA / Fire and Explosion studies or similar) to ensure that those can meet the requirement by the local regulatory authorities and Engie’s minimum requirements.

• Provide support in writing the Operational and Safety Manual

• Identify hazards using recognized identifications techniques (HAZID, FMEA, HAZOP, QRA, FERA, SIL)

• Undertake consequence modelling as part of the premilitary assessment of projects or to validate findings of studies undertaken by third parties

• Assess and implement safeguards appropriate for the hazards being considered (like inherent safety in design, active and passive fire protection, human factors engineering…)

• Undertake risk assessment to determine whether safeguards are adequate to mitigate hazards (SIL, LOPA, fault tree…)

 

Process Safety Management and risk evaluation during COMMISSIONING and OPERATIONS activities

• Prepare, direct or participate in HSE studies and risk assessments undertaken for commissioning, start up and operation of the projects

• Lead Process Safety Incidents Investigations and track implementation of recommendations

 

  CRITICAL SKILLS

• Analytical thinking, writing and reporting skills

• Good to excellent understanding of operational safety

• Excellent command of Process Safety engineering principles for onshore gas plants

• Experienced in consequence modelling techniques

• Demonstrate effective understanding and application of safety regulations and procedures appropriate to the gas industry

• Demonstrate understanding and application of process safety principles in reducing public risk

• Demonstrate understanding and experience of defining emergency actions for hazard identified

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Qualification: Chartered Chemical/Process Safety engineering degree

• Professional experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role,
  • Minimum of 5 years in use and interpretation of process hazard analysis software such as PHAST or equivalent,
  • Minimum of 7 relevant years in energy or petro-chemical or gas projects.

• Experience in French regulatory requirements/studies (etude de danger) an advantage

• Proven Experience in hydrogen is considered as an advantage.

Funciones

 

  • Ejecución del plan de mantenimiento preventivo de las instalaciones asignadas, en la especialidad de electricidad de baja tensión (instalaciones eléctricas y equipos relacionados).
  • Medir los parámetros y realizar las pruebas y verificaciones, tanto funcionales como reglamentarias de las instalaciones, para comprobar y ajustar su funcionamiento; Localizar y diagnosticar las disfunciones de los equipos y elementos de las instalaciones, utilizando los medios apropiados y aplicando procedimientos establecidos con la seguridad requerida.
  • Realización de los trabajos de mantenimiento correctivos de aquellas instalaciones de las que sea responsable; Reparar, mantener y sustituir equipos y elementos en las instalaciones, en condiciones de calidad, seguridad y respeto al medio ambiente para asegurar o restablecer las condiciones de funcionamiento.
  • Desarrollo de las operaciones de mantenimiento y tareas asociadas al servicio.
  • Conducción del puesto de control BMS, mediante la revisión de los parámetros de funcionamiento de la instalación y la correcta interpretación de las alarmas y sus correspondientes acciones correctoras.
  • Conocer las actividades propias del puesto a desempeñar y los protocolos de funcionamiento delante situaciones de avería y emergencia.

 

Requisitos

 

1. Titulación

Ciclo de Formación Profesional de Grado medio en Instalaciones Eléctricas y Automáticas.

 

2. Imprescindible

- Entre 4 y 5 años de experiencia demostrable como técnico de mantenimiento en Centros de Cálculo o edificios de criticidad similar.
- Conocimientos técnicos en instalaciones generales de edificios y en particular en instalaciones de continuidad existentes en centros de procesamiento de datos.
- Experiencia en la ejecución de mantenimiento vía ordenes de trabajo. - El personal encargado de realizar las labores de mantenimiento debe tener la calificación requerida por la reglamentación vigente (RITE, REBT, etc.), en particular en lo que se refiere a carnés profesionales.
