THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The "Engineering Management" group, which is part of the “Technical Direction & Integration” Department of the Nuclear Global Business Area, provides engineering and consulting services in:

  • Technical Integration: issuing multidisciplinary synthesis reports and ensuring technical consistency of Nuclear project deliverables and technical excellence through coordination of the technical disciplines and  overall nuclear expertise, System Engineering;
  • Layout: integration of input from different technical disciplines and coordination of BIM Modellers / Draftsmen to achieve an optimum spatial arrangement for a new facility or modifications to existing plants, taking into account all project constraints including safety, constructability, economics, operations, maintenance, etc ;
  • Drafting: development of models and drawings of technical solutions (BIM/ CAD 3D model, 2D implantation drawings, Civil Works guide drawings, Site Plot Plans, isometrics, PID, etc).

The key competences of the “Plant Layout & Integration” Group are related to:

  • Design assessment of Small Modular Reactor (SMR), Generation III/III+ and Generation IV reactors;;
  • Engineering and Consulting services for Nuclear New Build projects (siting, licensing, design, layout, Owner requirements, Bid Invitation Specifications, EPC Contract Development, etc);
  • Design and construction of complex plant modifications and new facilities at operating Nuclear Power Plant units e.g. spent fuel storage facilities, waste management facilities, Long Term Operation and Post-Fukushima modifications, Containment Filter Venting System, new bunkerised facilities, etc;
  • Design and construction of miscellaneous complex facilities in the nuclear sector (e.g. D&D projects, proton therapy centers, research reactors);
  • Layout development and Drafting for:
    • Nuclear projects (see hereabove);
    • International Gas Projects (e.g. new LNG Terminals);
    • National and International Conventional Power projects (Combined Cycle Power Plants, Biomass Power Plants, Coal Fired Power Plants, Diesel Engines Power Plants) and Industry projects (e.g. pharmaceutical industry).

 

 

your job

Technical Integrator role on a project (sometimes called “Technical Coordinator”) mainly consists in ensuring the technical consistency of the project deliverables and the technical excellence of the solutions developed in line with the client expectations while respecting the budget and the planning. This responsibility is of course shared with the Project Manager and the Discipline Experts working on the project.

  • You act as a major technical interface between the Project Manager and the Discipline Experts ensuring the coordination and integration of multidisciplinary technical competences;
  • You are the technical interface for the client and you play a major role in the achievement of the key deliverables such as engineering, design studies, technical specifications, white book, etc;
  • You provide technical guidelines of the project for the disciplines involved. You introduce adequate hold points and design reviews within a project and perform technical review for ensuring the general consistency of project deliverables;
  • You anticipate problems and customer needs for the different disciplines; identifying and managing technical risks and non-conformities. You manage efficiently the technical interfaces between technical disciplines and contractual packages;
  • You draft general and multidisciplinary technical and/or contractual documents on basis of the inputs of different disciplines and project stakeholders (including Customer);
  • You contribute to the further development of the multidisciplinary competences by indicating areas for improvement and integrating lessons learnt.

 

 

YOUR PROFILE

As a Technical Integrator profile you have sufficient expertise to integrate the various disciplines of his/her project (process, safety, mechanical, electrical, I&C, fuel, civil works, site constraints, contractual aspects, basic legal and financial principles, etc) in order to ensure the technical performance of a project.

  • You have a master in Engineering;
  • You have a general knowledge of nuclear installations of PWR or BWR designs (nuclear island and/or  conventional island and/or balance of plant), developed through participation in power plant projects for 5 years;
  • An experience in the new designs of nuclear power plants (Generation III, Generation IV, SMR,…) is an asset;
  • You are result oriented and you demonstrate leadership;
  • You have outstanding judgment, organization and decision making skills;
  • You have basic knowledge of project management techniques and have coordination skills;
  • You are a team player, good listener, collaborative and communicator;
  • You have the capacity to integrate various disciplines (process, safety, mechanical, electrical, I&C, fuel, civil works, site constraints, contractual aspects, basic legal and financial principles, etc.)  in order to ensure the technical performance of a project;You have several years of experience in at least one of these disciplines;
  • You are interested in international projects;
  • You will be based in Brussels or in France; depending on your profile and experience opportunities exist in other countries.
  • Languages skills: Fluent English as well as French and/or Dutch.

Function

As Nuclear Engineer Decommissioning Processes you will join our dynamic team which is responsible for the expertise field related to Radiation Protection, Radioactive Waste Management and Nuclear Decommissioning. In close collaboration with your colleagues, your Group Manager and the Project Manager, you conduct Engineering Studies related to the preparation of the Nuclear Decommissioning of the Belgian Nuclear Power Plants. This includes also new build projects (indeed, “we need builders to dismantle”). You will mainly work from our office (with a possibility to do partial homework), some projects might require on-site interventions.

Technical expertise

  • Knowledge of nuclear decommissioning processes in general
  • Knowledge about cutting- and decontamination techniques;
  • Knowledge about radioactive material- and waste flows during dismantling;
  • Knowledge about nuclear decommissioning of the main components of the primary circuit;
  • Knowledge about the management of the decommissioning inventory
  • Knowledge about the implementation of the decommisioning concept on site
  • Writing technical specifications, technical follow-up of contracts and decommissioning activities.
  • Capacity to propose element of methodology

 

Collaboration

  • Verify the technical work performed by your peers;
  • Provide regular feedback about ongoing activities;
  • Actively engage in knowledge sharing with others;
  • Working in close relationship with the final Client and interact with Safety Authorities and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency.

  • management and follow up of main design modifications;

The successful candidate

De afdeling is verantwoordelijk voor alle projecten met betrekking tot de studies en de aanpassingen van bestaande Belgische kerncentrales (Doel/Tihange), inclusief LTO-projecten (Long Term Operation). Deze projecten kunnen gaan van de pre-haalbaarheidsstudies tot de uiteindelijke indienststelling van de installaties, inclusief haalbaarheidsstudies, ontwerp, aankoop en on-site realisatieactiviteiten.

 

Binnen dit departement ben je verantwoordelijk voor projecten (studies en/of aanpassingen) met betrekking tot de kerncentrales in België, met een focus op LTO Ageing (EI&C, mechanische en civiele werken).

 

JOUW TAKEN

 

  • Je beheert / volgt het ontwerp en/of de uitvoering van het project op;
  • Je laat de ontwerp- en investeringsbudgetten opstellen en consolideert deze voor het project in zijn geheel. Je bepaalt het algemene tijdschema, je controleert de diensten die voor het project worden geleverd en je bewaakt de voortgang wat betreft het halen van de leveringstermijnen en de verwachte rentabiliteit;
  • Na overleg met de experts definieer je de taken en geef je je projectteam (dat je functioneel leidt) de bevoegdheid om ze uit te voeren;
  • Je organiseert vergaderingen met de klant en ondersteunt de klant, als partner, bij het leveren van de toegevoegde waarde van Tractebel aan het project;
  • Je verzorgt de interne contacten met de competence centers en ondersteunende departementen (juridisch, financieel, IT, risicobeheer, communicatie, ...);
  • Je coördineert de acties op de interfaces tussen disciplines en u controleert de adequate integratie van de verschillende specialiteiten in het project;
  • Je verzorgt de technische en commerciële contacten met de eventuele klanten en partners en je definieert waar nodig commerciële acties;

  • Je hebt een ingenieursdiploma ;

Jouw missie   

 

Als Project Manager binnen onze departement Nucleaire draag je elke dag bij aan onze missie door een cruciale rol te spelen in het beheer en monitor van het ontwerp en/of de uitvoering van onze nucleaire  ontmantelingsprojecten.  Je stelt de ontwerp- en investeringsbudgetten op en consolideert deze voor het project als geheel. Je bepaalt de globale tijdsplanning, je controleert de geleverde diensten voor het project en je bewaakt de voortgang op het vlak van het halen van de oplevertermijnen alsook de verwachte rentabiliteit.


Je belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden  

 

  • Je verzorgt de interne contacten met onze Métiers (dit zijn de Technische Competence Centres) en de ondersteunende afdelingen (juridisch, financiën, IT, risicobeheer, communicatie, …);
  • Na overleg met de experten van Tractebel definieer je de taken en machtig je je projectteam (dat je functioneel aanstuurt) om deze uit te voeren;
  • Je coördineert de acties voor raakvlakken tussen disciplines en je waakt over de adequate integratie van de verschillende specialisaties in het project;
  • Je monitort het project ten einde de afgesproken scope op te leveren binnen contractuele deadline en budget;
  • Je organiseert meetings met de klant en ondersteunt de klant, als partner, bij het leveren van de Tractebel meerwaarde aan het project;
  • Je verzorgt de technische en commerciële contacten met de klanten en partners en stippelt commerciële acties uit waar nodig.

  • Een Master diploma in Engineering;
  • Talenkennis: Nederlands (en bij voorkeur basiskennis Frans) en Engels;
  • Kennis in projectmanagement met betrekking tot opvolging budget, planning en risico’s;

Context:

As Short Term Trader, you will play a pivotal role within the Short Term Trading desk, organized within the Short term Power as a Service.

The mission of Short Term Trading is to maximize  the revenues of  the ENGIE  power portfolio within the CWE region and maximize the value of intraday trading activities in the developing pan-European Intraday markets. As an intraday trader, your key responsibility is to multitask and be able to take decisions on a very short time frame based on a large dataset.

These activities are executed within a sub team of 9 people organized continuous 24/7 and taking up both Trading & optimization activities.

You will interact very closely with the Algorithmic trading development team.

 

Role:

In the role of Short Term Trader, you will be responsible for: 

  • Maximizing the CWE power portfolio revenues in intra-day, including renewable management, sales exposure and asset flexibility
  • Leveraging on our market expertise in order to maximize the value of our trading activities.
  • You will act as a single window to the intraday Market in order to cover the real time physical needs of our clients and re-optimize the asset portfolio against the intraday power market prices.
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenues and minimize the costs for our clients over the different time horizons of the short term chain
  • Develop cross-maturity models which can serve the portfolio of assets, intermittency, DSM and develop efficient strategies to capture trading opportunities on those different markets.
  • Delivering 3rd party services for external Customers.
  • Ensuring correct and timely delivered reporting of portfolio and market activities.
  • You work in a 24/7 shift system.

You will report on a regular basis to the Head of Short Term Trading.

 

Profile:

Function

As  Nuclear Engineer Radioactive Waste Management you will join our dynamic team which is responsible for the expertise field related to Radiation Protection, Radioactive Waste Management and Nuclear Decommissioning. In close collaboration with your colleagues, your Group Manager and the Project Manager, you conduct Engineering Studies in the field of Radioactive Waste Management, this covers both the radioactive waste resulting from operations and from dismantling. 

 

Core responsibilities

Technical expertise

  • Knowledge about solid, liquid and gaseous radioactive waste types and treatment;
  • Knowledge about treatment and conditioning of solid radioactive waste;
  • Development of waste management strategies;
  • Verification of technical specifications, technical follow-up of contracts and commissioning of installations for the treatment and/or conditioning of radioactive waste.

Collaboration

  • Verify the technical work performed by your peers;
  • Actively engage in knowledge sharing with others;
  • Coaching of young colleagues;
  • Working in close relationship with the final Client and interact with Safety Authorities and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency.

Working environment
