ENGIE is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Intern to join our Supply & Energy Management credit team. The internship work term will be from June 2025 to August 2025, full-time work schedule working up to 40 hours per week.

 

As a Credit Intern, you will support the commercial credit team in the management of credit risk mitigation through various reporting and analytical duties and projects, including, but not limited to support of Financial Statement analysis, Retail Credit Approvals and Daily Margining Requirement reporting process.

This role will also provide recommendations on margin strategies, assess market attractiveness, and communicate actionable insights through data to drive improved performance. This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports to the Director of Customer Engagement Analytics.

 

  • Support the development and launch of new products to market, including sales training, internal process development and user testing of necessary system enhancements. Support the development and maintenance of the Customer Lifetime Value model for commercial & industrial customers, tracking customer engagements, cost of acquisition, cost of service, retention & attrition, and complete the Marketing ROI
  • Derive insights into sales performance, positioning and margin through the analysis of market data, historic sales metrics, sales pipeline, market targets, customer segmentation and product offerings in order to enhance the profitability of the business
  • Develop analytical framework, tools, techniques, and capabilities to segment, target, and profile market opportunity, revenue potential, and pricing strategies
  • Assist in the development of primary and secondary market research in support of strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives, as required

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Marketing or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years working experience in sales and or marketing, experience in B2B environment or retail energy experience
  • You are experienced in data analysis, market research, market business planning, project, program management or forecasting
  • You are highly analytical with proven experience developing complex queries across multiple data sources and presenting insights clearly to stakeholders
  • You have strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking abilities, and proficiency in SQL programming, project management, and database design
  • You are knowledgeable in technical system documentation and can effectively collaborate with IT system teams to support data needs

What You Can Expect

As our Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist Intern, you will support on financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting for ENGIE North America's expanding portfolio. You will collaborate closely with the Global Business Unit (GBU) Asset Management, Operations, Partnership teams to gain a deep understanding of operational profitability drivers, risks, and liquidity management.   • Participation in the development of annual budgets, re-forecasts, and medium-term business plans (MTP), collaborating with other Business divisions ensuring consistency with ENGIE and partners guidelines
  • Ensure that the GBU's budget and MTP data is correctly and promptly entered into reporting systems from our Operational SAC Budget tool to our consolidated reports
  • Participation to produce timely and accurate closing reporting, including thorough management analysis of P&L and Cash-Flow Statement components by portfolio (ENGIE and Partners). IT tools (ERP SAP, SAC) will support your analysis
  • Partner with accounting and IT departments to ensure reporting accuracy including but not limited to data mapping and creating new reporting structures
  • Support senior management with ad hoc performance reporting and analysis

As the Head of Interconnection, you will lead the management of interconnection, transmission, and grid integration processes to support the development and operational goals of the Company’s Wind, Solar, and Storage pipeline across CAISO, WECC, SPP, ERCOT, MISO, and PJM. Your responsibilities will include navigating utility tariffs, transmission planning, technical evaluations, contract negotiations, and overseeing the full interconnection life cycle – from early-stage development through construction and commercial operation.

 

As the Head of Interconnection, you will also manage a team of interconnection managers and grid analysis professionals, ensuring key project milestones are met and aligning interconnection strategies with the broader company objectives. 

  • Coordinate, review, and interpret interconnection and transmission studies performed by utilities and consultants, including utility transmission planning reports, and present key findings and implications to internal stakeholders
  • Function as main liaison with project developers, and third-party consultants, on matters relating to interconnection to provide technical insight and business solutions to reduce interconnection cost and remove obstacles to project
  • Perform and manage technical analyses—including load flow, basis and congestion modeling—to predict interconnection capacity, deliverability, and other key transmission parameters, and provide technical support for project development and acquisition activities by evaluating transmission system and planning issues
  • Support liquidity tracking for interconnection securities and provide cash flow recommendations to management
  • Conduct due diligence to identify interconnection and transmission risks associated with potential projects, portfolio acquisitions, and commercial transactions, and provide technical evaluations and recommendations based on transmission system and planning analyses
  • Perform transmission system assessments and policy reviews to forecast future grid conditions, evaluate commercial viability, and monitor regional transmission planning and interconnection policy changes; participate in regulatory and market stakeholder processes in coordination with the Company’s regulatory and development teams
  • Lead the negotiation of interconnection and transmission-related agreements with utilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize project designs for grid integration and interconnection compliance
  • Represent the Company to establish and maintain productive relationships with key utility and utility public commission personnel, industry groups, regulators and other stakeholders on issues related to transmission and interconnection
  • Monitor progress of required system upgrades and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and viability

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, or another Analytical field required
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience, including at least 10 years in transmission planning, grid operations, or generation interconnection at a developer or consulting firm
  • Deep understanding of interconnection processes and regulatory frameworks across major North American RTOs/ISOs, with strong relationships or the ability to build relationships with utilities, RTOs, and industry stakeholders
  • Proficiency in power system modeling and analysis, including power flow and system impact studies, with experience in transmission planning and generator interconnection studies
  • Understanding of electrical diagrams/systems and preliminary site plans
  • Proven collaboration and problem-solving skills, capable of applying advanced engineering principles to identify and solve complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams with varying priorities and multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints
