Job responsibility 

 

 

Safety at Work 

 

  • Ensures a safe working environment for himself, his colleagues and contractors while working on any equipment. 

  • Ensures that there is a Permit to Work for each job as necessitated by the safety rules and associated Procedures. 

  • Ensures all Method Statements Work Instruction and Procedures are followed by himself and Contractors while undertaking any work. 

  • Ensures that all appropriate tools are available to ensure work can be carried out safely on equipment on all jobs at the plant. 

  • Points out any unsafe conditions to the Mechanical Engineer or Shift Team Leader. 

 

Maintenance Task Planning and Execution 

 

  • Completes all Work Orders generated in CMMS as directed by the Lead Mechanical Engineers. 

  • Ensures that maintenance of all mechanical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals and best practises for the equipment. 

  • Works to full potential and  produces high quality of work. 

 

Equipment Failure Trouble Shooting and Repair 

 

  • Supports the 24-hour operation by being regularly available for call-out at short notice. 

  • Attempts all possible means of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability. 

  • Records and reports to the Mechanical Engineer all rectification jobs undertaken. 

 

Reporting and Planning 

 

  • Discuss planned and unplanned jobs undertaken with the Mechanical Engineer. 

 

Use of Tools and Equipment 

 

  • Ensures appropriate tools and equipment are available at work sites and used while performing any job. 

  • Ensures that tools are in a safe and in good working order before use. 

  • Reports loss of tools or damage to any tools to the Lead Mechanical Engineers. 

  • Informs the Mechanical Engineer of any requirements for tools. 

 

Technical  

 

  • Good mechanical engineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies to modern power plant and desalination plant processes. 

  • Practical experience of maintaining a wide range of rotating and static equipment gained through hands on experience and formal training 

  • Capable to ensure a safe working environment for himself and his colleagues while working on any equipment. 

  • Assume ownership of plant mechanical equipment and strives to keep them in the best possible condition. 

  • Ability to carry out maintenance activities on a range of major engineering components and systems in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment. 

  • Organizing spares, tools and equipment to carry out maintenance activities 

  • Performs troubleshooting activities as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies the defects found. 

  • Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with mechanical equipment under the guidance of the Lead Mechanical Engineers. 

  • Be an active part of the maintenance team and help it to meet appropriate people and plant related performance measures. 

  • Ability to carry out duties with minimum supervision. 

  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment and with multi-disciplinary staff.

SWPC issued a Conditional Award to Engie for the Jubail 3B SWRO Project.  The plant is a fully contracted IWP producing 125 MIDD of potable water on coast of Persian Gulf, including a 570 000 m3 potable water storage facility and 59 km 380 kV transmission lines and substation.  Engie will construct a highly efficient and low carbon footprint plant design that fully utilizes the latest RO technology.

 

The Jubail 3B SWRO project is part of a major investment in additional SWRO facilities in KSA and is a major part of the expansion and diversification of the Kingdom.  The project site is located approx. 20Km South from the industrial city of Jubail, which has modern facilities. ENGIE operates various IPPs and IWPPs in this part of the kingdom, as Marafiq plant at 30 km and Fadhili Cogeneration plant at 70 km.

 

It is expected the CEO will be based in the Eastern Province of KSA.   It is also expected that there will be regular travel within KSA and occasional travel to Dubai or elsewhere in GCC.   The location may allow a commuting with Bahrain, under certain conditions and subject to further discussions.

 

Objective

 

The CEO is responsible for:

 

  • Managing the Company including personnel recruitment, procedures and facilities in agreement with the Board of Directors and the long-term business plan.
  • Representing the Company and conduct relationships of the Company with the authorities, regulatory agencies, lenders, banks and professional organizations.
  • Following up proper execution of the commercial and financial contracts and bringing in solutions to any argument or problem that may arise, in coordination with the Board of Directors.
  • Arranging that necessary permits and consents are obtained and maintained.

  • Conducts predictive maintenance while on shift i.e. vibration analysis, thermography, lube oil sampling for analysis and component inspections;
  • Operates equipment and performs repairs as needed, maintaining plant equipment at the highest possible standard maximising availability, reliability, efficiency and profitability;
  • Assists in developing Procedures and logs/records to track operating and maintenance history of all plant equipment.  Maintains and reviews such records and reports the findings as required;
  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.  Recommends operating and/or maintenance changes that will enhance plant performance and availability;
  • Cross-references a piping and instrument drawing with a Process Control Diagram associated with respective systems;
  • Assists with routine maintenance training and equipment operation training of other site employees;
  • Coordinates work activities of vendor and/or sub-contractor personnel when required;
  • Complies with all contractual obligations impacting plant operation.

JOUW VERANTWOORDELIJKHEDEN als Senior Operator

 

Eerst en vooral moet je weten dat elke procesoperator instaat voor de dagdagelijkse technische opvolging van de installaties. Met als voornaamste doel: een veilige en efficiënte uitbating garanderen.

 

  • Vanuit de controlezaal in Rodenhuize bedien je de installatie.
  • Je lost storingen en problemen op in samenspraak met de productieleider en ons onderhoudsteam en doet een optimalisatievoorstel.
  • Je stelt de installatie (transformatoren, turbines, elektrische borden etc) veilig ter voorbereiding van onderhoudswerken.
  • Je start een installatie na onderhoud opnieuw op.

Job Purpose/Mission   

EEA is looking for a talented, self-starting senior Software Engineer (cloud native) to join the team to help deliver affordable solar power and financial services across Africa. This position offers a great opportunity to work alongside an elite team of engineers and business professionals and directly contribute to the success of a mission driven company with social and environmental impact. Candidates will get the opportunity to work in a diverse technology stack at scale and lead the evolution of at least one of our software products. 

Responsibilities  

  • Define software engineering strategy and architecture with other leaders, fully responsible for the technical evolution of at least one software product, responsible for the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from ideation to deployment 

  • Implement and optimize microservices and RESTful APIs to ensure scalability and ease of integration for cloud-based applications. 

  • Architect and implement solutions that cater to multi-tenant environments, ensuring tenant isolation, efficient resource utilization, and data security. 

  • Develop scalable data partitioning and tenant onboarding solutions to manage multiple tenants seamlessly while maintaining high performance. 

  • Ensure proper configuration and management of tenant-level security, quotas, and SLAs. 

  • Develop and deploy applications using Docker containers to ensure consistency across multiple environments (development, staging, production). 

  • Use Kubernetes to orchestrate containerized workloads, enabling horizontal scaling, high availability, and automated deployments in multi-tenant architectures. 

  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for tenant-aware scaling, load balancing, and service discovery. 

  • Build and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines (using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI) to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment across multiple environments. 

  • Integrate automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure early detection of issues and smooth rollouts. 

  • Implement blue-green deployments, canary releases, and other progressive delivery techniques to reduce downtime and minimize risks during deployments in multi-tenant setups. 

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, ensuring the infrastructure supports the demands of multi-tenant applications. 

  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate provisioning and scaling of infrastructure. 

  • Ensure that the cloud environment is configured for cost-efficiency, elasticity, and fault tolerance while maintaining strict adherence to security and compliance standards. 

  • Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems (using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic) to track application performance, usage, and tenant-specific metrics. 

  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high availability and uptime for multi-tenant applications. 

  • Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or performance degradation and implement necessary optimizations or patches. 

  • Continuously optimize application performance to support the scalability demands of multiple tenants, ensuring low latency and high throughput. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, product management, QA, and other software engineers, to align on requirements, technical specifications, and deliverables. 

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to improve overall code quality and team productivity. 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud-native development, containerization, Kubernetes, and multi-tenant architecture. 

Knowledge and skills    

Experience:  

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on cloud-native development. 

  • Proficiency in Python and Ruby web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, Sinatra). 

  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration in production environments. 

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in a multi-tenant architecture. 

  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems. 

  • Cloud Platforms: Expertise in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc. 

  • Version Control: Proficiency in Git and branching strategies for multi-tenant development. 

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools. 

  • Testing: Proficiency in automated testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec for Ruby, PyTest for Python) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Monitoring: Experience with application performance monitoring (APM) tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic). 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for building scalable and reliable systems. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have 

  • Experience with multi-tenant architecture in a SaaS environment.

Electrical Technician

JOB PURPOSE:

  • To carry out Electrical maintenance work for all equipment in the Reverse osmosis plant to achieve reliable, continuous and safe operation.
  • To apply specialist Electrical expertise in order to ensure the efficient operations of the Electrical Department at Engie Al Jubail for O&M RO Plant;
  • To ensure plant Electrical equipment is maintained as per Procedures documented in the Computerize Maintenance Management System and as per instructions of the Electrical engineer;
  • To assist Electrical engineer ensuring that all Electrical equipment is well maintained and all notifications of planned and unplanned work are completed on time

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Completes all Work Orders generated in Computerize Maintenance Management system as directed by the Electrical Engineer;
  • Generates reports (mainly log sheets/check sheets) as necessary for the maintenance done;
  • Ensures that maintenance of all Electrical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment;
  • Reviews Electrical Maintenance Procedures and suggests improvements;
  • Works to his full potential and does high quality work.
  • Supports reliable and accessible 24-hour call-out functionality;
  • Attempts all possible means of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability;
  • Performs troubleshooting activities as necessary along with the Electrical Engineer and colleagues to determine failure conditions and rectifies the defects found;
  • Records and reports to the Electrical Engineer all rectification jobs undertaken;
  • Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with Electrical equipment under the guidance of Electrical Engineer.
  • Discuss planned and unplanned jobs undertaken with Electrical Engineer;
  • Assist the Electrical Engineer in planning daily jobs.
  • Ensures necessary tooling is available at work sites during performance on any job;
  • Uses correct tools for each job;
  • Reports loss of tools or damage to any tools to the Electrical Engineer;
  • Informs Electrical Engineer of any requirements for tools;
  • Ensures that tools are in good working order.
  • Manage the contract manpower & contract services in  a very cost effective way with desired quality.
  • Establish high level cross functional collaborations for all inter departmental tasks.
  • Assumes ownership of plant Electrical equipment and strives to keep them in the best possible condition.

JOB CONTEXT:

  • Engie Al Jubail for O&M Company operates & maintains the SWRO Plant of 570,000 M3/Day net potable water capacity. Engie Al Jubail for Operations and Maintenance Company is single shareholder Limited liability company established under the laws of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. . 
  • Engie Al Jubail for O&M Company performs services through an O&M agreement for the Owner of the SWRO Plant: Al Jubail International Water Company. 
  • The project is a Greenfield IWP with a 25 year WPA with single off-taker Saudi Water Partnership Company.
  • The Job Holder will be based at Jubail 3B SWRO Plant that will be located in the city of Jubail on the Arabian Gulf coast in eastern Saudi Arabia, around 100 kilo meters from Dammam. The Jubail 3B SWRO Plant will serve Riyadh and Qassim with potable water. The plant will include storage tanks with one day’s production capacity in addition to in-house solar capacity to reduce power consumption from the kingdom’s national grid;
  • The Job Holder as permit acceptor manage the Electrical jobs in a safe and efficient manner.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3 year Diploma / or equivalent in Electrical Technology

Experience:

3 years’ experience of working with Electrical maintenance in similar industrial setup preferably a power and Water (RO) plant or large size utility or petrochemical plant

Skills:

Technical:

  • Good experience in the maintenance and repair of power plant equipment, preferably in a power and RO plant;
  • Familiar with working principles of installed Electrical equipments and latest technology related to the electrical field, including proficiency in fault finding using available test instruments.
  • Maintain cordial relationship with co-employees,sub-ordinates and superiors and any other persons with regard to his job.
  • Good knowledge and hands on experience with MV/LV switchgear maintenance.
  • Good Experience in  Rotating machines electrical  maintenance including overhaul and inspection activities.
  • Good Knowledge and hands on experience with MV/LV motors maintenance.
  • Good knowledge in reading single line diagrams /control circuits and troubleshooting.
  • Hands on experience with maintenance of Generator excitation system /GT starting device and all other Generator auxiliaries.
