Your function

  • Contribute to various transport infrastructure projects under the guidance of experienced engineers and draftsmen.

Candidate’s profile

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Road engineering.
  • Demonstrated interest and some technical experience in railway engineering projects, computing, and designing represents an advantage.
  • Basic skills in Autocad 2D; willingness to learn and develop skills in Civil 3D.
  • Good communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Client-oriented, flexible, and proficient in English.
  • Openness to occasional international travel for collaboration and projects.
  • Mobility by car is beneficial, and an international driving license “B” is a plus.

Electrical Engineer BESS Advisor

What You Can Expect

As our Electrical Engineer Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the utility scale operations group by acting as a technical leader, providing mentorship for junior engineers, ensuring the safe operation of the facilities, and collaborating across multiple disciples by participating in design reviews. In this position you will manage the electrical design of battery-based energy storage systems and thorough understanding of BESS architecture including rack, module, container and plant-level controls. You will be expected to prepare site acceptance test (SAT) and integration test plan for BESS systems. Technical review of documents provided by vendors. This position will be based out of the Houston, TX office and will be supporting assets in both US and Canada.

 

  • Provide mentorship for Junior Engineers in technical matters relating to the operation of BESS and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with various groups within the organization on technical matters and represent the Operations function in the various stages of the project design including review of drawings and studies.
  • Perform complex engineering/design calculations specific to discipline (equipment sizing, load flow, short circuit, Arc flash, grounding, etc.)
  • Interface with various system operators including ERCOT, PJM, SPP and MISO on technical issues including those related to operations planning and modelling.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures.
  • Review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with the applicable NERC standards.
  • Develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team to include misoperations, root cause analysis (Six-sigma, DMAIC, fish-bone), and safety-related events

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and utility experience
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ of experience of directly relevant engineering experience working on energy storage systems
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA networks and protocols such as MODBUS, DNP3, and any proprietary SCADA protocols.
  • Working knowledge of battery chemistries and their impact on overall BESS system design
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office
  • Must be available to travel domestically  up to 20% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record use of company vehicle, ability to drive to site locations
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As the Engineering Associate you will be a key player of a diverse team developing cutting-edge energy storage solutions. This position requires a technical degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and experience with power systems and renewables. In this role you will be working with the rest of the engineering team in identifying project requirements, designing battery energy storage systems, specifying system components, supporting the business development team, managing projects from design to operation, and supporting the operations team. This position is part of the Flexible Generation & Retail Global Business Unit (FGBU) in North America. 

 

Every day you will work with a cross-functional team of systems engineers, subject level experts in power electrical engineering and battery engineering, software engineering,  commissioning engineering, and project managers. Additionally, you will act independently with minimal direction and, as a project team member, able to work cooperatively to deliver quality electrical engineering for the project, interconnection agreements, and the team’s goals for a successful project.

 

  • Work alongside engineering to design and commission stationary energy storage systems based on lithium-ion battery technology
  • In-take and implement improvement ideas from installation crews in the field and from operations
  • Understand the impact of design to installation and operation of the battery energy storage system (BESS) system, document lessons learned and create a feedback loop to escalate issues
  • Participate in solving problems with various components or at the system level
  • Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies, and program issues quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure Engie’s BESS internal guidelines are followed

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; or related field

Werkomgeving

Je werkt als BIM-Project Manager en je bent verantwoordelijk voor het implementeren en coördineren van BIM-processen binnen infrastructuur projecten, vanuit ons kantoor in Hasselt  (of Gent/ Brussel), binnen onze afdeling Transport Infrastructuur, de afdeling binnen Tractebel die voornamelijk projecten ontwerpt/studeert met betrekking tot wegen, tramverbindingen, luchthavens, tunnels en bruggen.

Naast het ontwerpen van wegen is het ontwerpen van rioleringssystemen een tweede belangrijk onderdeel, rekening houdend met de klimaatsverandering en een duurzaam gebruik van het (regen)water.

 

Taken

  • Toezicht houden op de kwaliteit en efficiëntie van het BIM-proces; toezicht op de productie, coördinatie en kwaliteitscontroles en je rapporteert hierover
  • Opstellen van BIM-werkprocedures;  je leidt het proces van het opstellen en organiseren van BIM-werkprocedures, inclusief het bijwerken en actualiseren van BIM-uitvoeringsplan.
  • Leiderschap in BIM-informatieprocedures; je bent verantwoordelijk voor het opbouwen en uitwisselen van BIM-informatieprocedures volgens de geldende standaarden.
  • Opstellen van BIM-planning; je schat het BIM-budget in en bereidt de BIM-planning voor in overeenstemming met de algemene projectplanning
  • Werken in teamverband is voor jou vanzelfsprekend en motiverend.
  • Je communiceert met andere project/disciplineleden.
  • Je blijft op de hoogte van evoluties in je discipline.

 

Profiel

  • Je hebt een masterdiploma ingenieurswetenschappen of industriële wetenschappen
  • Een relevante werkervaring van 3 jaar met de toepassing van BIM voor infrastructuurprojecten
  • Je beschikt over leidinggevende en organisatorische vaardigheden om strategische en tactische samenwerkingsrelaties tot stand te brengen
  • Grondige kennis van de digitale context en applicaties inzake BIM
  • Communicatievaardig om alle betrokken partijen effectief te laten samenwerken
  • Je bent planmatige en analytisch ingesteld
  • Je hebt een goede kennis van MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) en MS Project.
  • Je spreekt vloeiend Nederlands (moedertaal) en Engels. Een goede kennis van het Frans is een sterke troef.

IHR TÄTIGKEITSBEREICH

Als Werkstudent Geschäftsentwicklung & Strategie (m/w/d), arbeiten Sie in einem hochqualifizierten Team von Ingenieuren und Experten im Bereich Klima, Resilienz und Umwelt. Innerhalb unseres standortübergreifenden Teams (Bad Vilbel & Paris) bearbeiten wir die Themen Klimawandelanpassung, Wasserwirtschaft, Umwelt und Soziales im Rahmen eigenständige Projekte bzw. unterstützen Infrastrukturprojekte im Bereich Wasser (Wasserkraft, Bewässerung, Wassertransfer), Energie (Wind, PV, Stromtrassen) und Infrastruktur (Bahn, Wasserstraßen). Unsere Leistungen erbringen wir als Teil der Tractebel-Gruppe weltweit.

 

Im Bereich Geschäftsentwicklung:

  • Identifizierung und Prüfung von Projektmöglichkeiten internationaler Geldgeber und privaten Investoren
  • Vorbereitung und Dokumentation der Go/NoGo meetings
  • Unterstützung in der Erstellung von “Expression of Interest” und Angeboten
  • Pflege und Weiterentwicklung unserer internen und externen Marketingtools bzgl. der Leistungen und Produkte des Teams
  • Im Bereich Strategie mit Fokus auf Klimawandelanpassung, Wasserwirtschaft und Disaster Risk Management:
  • Recherche und Analyse der Finanzierungs- und Entwicklungsstrategien internationaler Geldgeber
  • Unterstützung in der Analyse regionaler Märkte

As Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) for Hydropower Projects you work together with your project team of the Electromechanical Equipment Department at our headquarter in Bad Vilbel (Rhein Main area), Germany or at project offices worldwide on the realization of national and international projects. Your field of activity includes:
 

  • Project Engineer in the planning of hydropower plants
  • Definition and dimensioning of main and auxiliary mechanical and hydromechanical plant equipment
  • Preparation of feasibility studies and tender documents for construction
  • Evaluation of tenders (technical and commercial proposals)
  • Review of contractors' technical submissions and documentation required for implementation
  • Performance of factory acceptance tests (FATs)
  • Preparation of proposals for engineering services, participation in contract negotiations
  • Construction supervision and coordination of plant commissioning activities at sites in Germany and abroad
