What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator II (UPO II) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This equipment includes, boilers, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control valves, and mobile equipment.

 

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks to be completed. The primary task of a UPO II involves the safe operation of the plant's boilers. You will conduct hourly rounds, monitoring pressures, checking for leaks or abnormalities. Additional responsibilities include monitoring pressure reducing valves, completing logs at the end of the shift, and performing weekly preventive maintenance (PM) during day shifts. We currently operate three steam generators and four natural gas-powered generators. Communication of pertinent information among shift members, production support personnel, maintenance, and management is facilitated through Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Maximo (our Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 

The UPO II may also provide relief and support in other job classifications, including Maintenance and Fuel Unloading. Other duties include performing regular testing and treatment of boiler water as directed and checking offsite equipment such as the Hospital boiler and West Campus boiler.

This position follows a rotating shift schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. You will work seven scheduled days every fourteen days (Dupont rotating schedule), including nights, holidays, and weekends.

 

Availability for vacation coverage, emergency relief, and overtime as required by the plant management team is essential.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Degree or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of three (3) years industrial plant,  process plant, shipboard power & propulsion or power plant experience operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors
  • A minimum of One (1) year experience operating solid fuel and/or gas/oil fired water tube boilers, turbine generators and related plant equipment required

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • You must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, operation of company owned vehicles is required
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Required to be on call as needed/deemed necessary by Supervisor/Management
  • Required to have a personal telephone to be able to receive emergency notifications

  • Working Environment (Indoors – 90% Outdoors – 10%) 
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
    • The Power Plant can be an extremely hot environment
    • Areas of the Power Plant can be dusty
    • The Power Plant noise level is usually moderate to high

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range:  $27.45 - $39.42 hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE North America is seeking a High Voltage Electrician to join our Team at the University of Iowa Campus. This will be a local position with no travel. You will be a part of a team that is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all utility plants and utility distribution networks on the University of Iowa Main and Oakdale campuses. You must have a current Iowa Journeyman Electrician license Class A or B. . The most critical aspect of this job is safety.  Yours, your teams, and our customers on campus. We are looking for an electrician that can work safely and efficiently, and takes pride in getting the job done right the first time.

 

Daily you will be performing preventative maintenance and repair work on campus, You will ensure all work is performed consistently with Engie’s culture of physical safety, process safety, and psychological safety for all staff, contractors, service providers, and stakeholders.  You will be determining jobsite work sequences and the safety procedures required for each task. You will work with various team members to procure materials, coordinates outages, and complete work by places systems back into service.  You will be performing and documenting pre-job hazard assessments and provide pre-job briefs as needed. Daily you will be completing Installs,  troubleshooting, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electric utility substation and distribution systems including but not limited to medium voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, cabling systems, and production plant electrical motors, starters, and controls up through 15kV.  You will be Interpreting and maintaining wiring diagrams, schematics, updating system logs, drawings, and documentation on utility systems.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Required to have a current Class A or B Electrician’s license valid in the State of Iowa
  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED, and completion of a formal Apprenticeship
  • Four (4) years of experience in the trade, inclusive of apprenticeship
  • Two (2) years must be working with high voltage (over 600 volts through 15kV) in an electric utility, power plant, or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of equipment and methods used in general industrial facility or utility maintenance work
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices associated with utility or industrial operations, including those for working around high voltage equipment and the ability to do so with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of electric utility systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of tools and methods necessary to troubleshoot and maintain electric utility equipment
  • Knowledge of the trade occupational hazards and safety precautions while working in confined spaces, aerial or elevated locations, extreme temperatures, excavations, and other environmental-caused conditions
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, utility standards, and safety programs as governed by rules, regulations, and guidelines of local, state, and national electrical and safety codes, equipment manufacturers, and others
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively and complete repairs with a high degree of accuracy.

Our Project Development Senior Advisor will be solving for the two biggest challenges in industry, decarbonization and cost competitiveness.  Identifying and implementing unique solutions to these challenges are the mission of ENGIE North America’s Energy Solutions (ES) business. We are looking to grow our team to provide the best possible support  and to grow our offerings and book of business for decarbonization, efficiency and alternative energy production offerings. This role will be based in Houston, TX.

 

  • You will be working in tandem with the internal design office and multidisciplinary support functions to create proposals and bids, for new and existing clients.  You will contribute to ENGIE’s commercial performance by providing expertise and utilizing consultative sales skills to win major projects with your  innovative solutions to client’s needs.
  • You will analyze opportunities by understanding customer needs, looking for solutions, and developing the strategy in possible collaboration with the Originator who will have pre-targeted the potential project
  • You will build up and lead the project team and build proposals together by ensuring the management and coordination of ES’s various internal resources: commercial, technical, legal, purchasing, financial, architectural, HR, etc.
  • You will be responsible for the deliverable or the global proposal, which must meet the expectations of the client and the requirements of ENGIE ES, and all actions required up to the signature of the contracts with the client and stakeholders
  • Your role includes organizing and participating in the drafting of the bid/ proposal, representing our company during oral presentations, negotiating with the client and partners, quoting the services, etc. while ensuring the management of the bid by monitoring the schedule, working meetings, and developing an action plan
  • You consult with and collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the process until signature and handoff to the operations team

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or other relevant field required where  you have learned a foundation of skills in project engineering, finance, and business development
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of project development experience in energy solutions, and decarbonization
  • Proven record of accomplishment in developing energy solutions related projects, including experience taking projects through financing
  • Experienced with manufacturing, or district energy projects
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks  
  • Track record of successfully working with public officials to obtain development permits, tax abatements
  • General understanding of market trends and resulting impacts on project development
  • Superior verbal, written, and digital communication skills with high level of attention to detail; Presenting to a wide range of audiences, including, stakeholders, such as  government officials, corporate leaders, and financiers

Este profissional terá um papel crucial em diversos setores da instalação. As suas atividades englobam desde a leitura de diagramas e esquemas elétricos até a utilização de ferramentas e instrumentos de medição para diagnosticar e corrigir falhas em equipamentos.

 

Além disso, o técnico eletromecânico também pode estar envolvido na montagem de máquinas, na configuração de sistemas de automação, na realização de testes de funcionamento e na execução de procedimentos de segurança. Em muitos casos, é necessário ter um entendimento sólido tanto da parte elétrica quanto da mecânica dos equipamentos.

 

O que pode esperar

 

  • Proceder à montagem e colocação em condições de funcionamento dos subconjuntos e conjuntos mecânicos, elétricos, eletromecânicos e de automação (pneumáticos e hidráulicos), a partir dos desenhos, esquemas e especificações técnicas específicas de cada equipamento industrial;
  • Diagnosticar as avarias dos elementos nos sistemas mecânicos, elétricos, eletromecânicos e de automação, aplicando os procedimentos estabelecidos, para comprovação do estado de funcionamento dos equipamentos e do alcance dos defeitos;

  • Realizar a montagem, instalação e colocação em marcha dos equipamentos, com recurso aos desenhos e especificações técnicas dos conjuntos fabricados e cumprimento das normas de segurança relacionadas com os riscos laborais e meio – ambientais;
  • Realizar a conservação e manutenção preventiva dos equipamentos, a partir da documentação técnica e manuais de manutenção, com registo e preenchimento das fichas de intervenção específicas

As our Project Developer Manager – Greenfield, you will play a key role in early-stage project development within ENGIE’s Distributed Solar and Storage (DSS) team. What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or related field
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of work in renewable energy or other infrastructure development
  • You are conscientious, empathetic, detail-oriented, highly organized, and value inclusivity and diversity within a tight-knit team dynamic.
  • You have three (3) years of experience in renewable project development, ideally with community/distributed-scale (1-20 MW) projects and related state programs, as well as experience with real estate agreements in the context of renewable energy project development (options, leases, purchase agreements, title curative work, etc.)

As our Business Development (BD) Senior Advisor you will be located in an area with easy access to a large airport and will directly focus on development of District Heating and Cooling Systems and Major Campuses, within the Continental United States. Our business is making it possible for campuses (cities, universities, airports among others) to devote their resources to their core missions.  The Senior Advisor is responsible for developing district energy project opportunities from origination to successful closure by coordinating commercial, financial, legal and technical activities. The Senior Advisor is expected to closely collaborate with the rest of the business development team and all internal specialists creating a tangible contribution to ENGIE’s expansion in the district energy market. 

  

  • Daily you will coordinate and work with a team of experts during the due diligence and development phases to assess business opportunities. Disciplines include technical, operations, finance, legal, human resources, transition, IT, procurement, insurance, and other relevant functions 
  • You will originate new opportunities. Using your network, you will create new contacts to create opportunities. Interact with different market participants (consultants, investment banks, equity funds, engineering companies among others) to identify opportunities. You will lead customer meetings, proposal processes & contract negotiations, working with the different internal teams, understanding the customers’ needs and the different stakeholders. You will continue to build ENGIE’s competitiveness with financial, technical, and contractual optimizations

ENGIE Building Solutions este una dintre companiile din Grupul ENGIE România care furnizează servicii de mentenanță tehnică și soluții de eficiență energetică pentru clienții business.

 

Ce vei face:

  • Vei realiza curățarea, repararea și punerea în funcțiune a echipamentelor de climatizare, refrigerare și ventilație;
  • Vei reface izolațiile țevilor, daca este cazul;
  • Vei verifica etanșeitatea traseelor de conducte;
  • Vei verifica presiunea în instalație cu ajutorul bateriei de manometre;
  • Vei asigura tensionarea curelelor și a alinierii roților de curea.

Cerințe:

  • Studii medii finalizate cu bacalaureat, de preferat cu profil electric/electromecanic;
  • Calificat în meseria de frigotehnist;
  • Minimum 1 an experiență de lucru în activități de mentenanță;
  • Autorizația AGFR reprezintă un real avantaj;
  • Permis de conducere categoria B.
