Your role, we imagine that you:

Main activities of the team you will lead:

  • Work closely on a daily basis with short term an long term traders: providing real time support, insights, and actionable trading strategies
  • Act as Data Owner for Market Data’s within the platform, ensuring data quality and availability
  • Develop and maintain market analysis tools and dashboards
  • Develop machine learning and fundamental models together with data scientists and other colleagues to support risk management and automatic trading

Context:

You will lead the Market Analysis practice for Iberia.

 

You will work closely with Trading (gas, LNG, power, green certificates, etc.) and Short Term Trading (day and intraday power markets) both for Spain and Portugal, providing insights to help to create P&L and foster the services we provide to our internal and external clients, both in the short and long term.

You will report to the CDAIO, Chief Digital, Analytics and IT Officer for S&EM Iberia and you will also be part of the global Expertise Center (EC) of “EU Gas & Power markets”, a practice with more than 110 experts in energy markets and quantitative economics around the world. This team includes market analysts, meteorologists, data scientists, regulation & market design advisors providing comprehensive support to ENGIE entities.

You and your team will develop consistent market views to explain market moves and forecast future evolution; build and run forecasting & simulation models; propose, enhance and follow trading strategies; pro-actively seek innovative solutions to improve sales, traders and business developers performance as well as to support senior managers in their decision making process; provide market analysis reports and services to a defined set of internal clients; provide strategic insights on new businesses linked to energy transition; represent S&EM in external forum or conferences in relation with energy market knowledge; producing economic and financial analysis for origination, negotiation, valuation and management of assets.

The Role

You'll collaborate with our teams to oversee and provide accounting services, taking charge of financial reporting responsibilities that span across GEMS ANZ. Your role will require you to prepare compliance reports, such as AFSL, accurately and on time. You will participate in process improvements and enhance task performance. What You Can Expect

As a Senior Confirmation Analyst in Houston, you will report to Risk Control Manager and perform Confirmation functions across various dynamic business units, trading platforms and systems.  You will support Trade Capture and various business processes via the Risk Management System.  You will act as liaison between various departments and groups for added efficiencies and problem resolution. 

 

Perform various Confirmation tasks including but not limited to:

  • Generate ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA) confirmation and send out to counterparty
  • Reconcile Broker and Counterparty confirmations against Aligne with accuracy.  Trading Platform tie outs [ICE, NODAL, CME]
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls/policies, and maintaining accurate records
  • SDR reporting – Responsible for the Dodd Frank SDR reporting to ICE Trade Vault.  Must coordinate with Trade Vault, commercial, compliance, MR and legal to ensure accurate and timely reporting along with appropriate documentation
  • Reconcile and approve Broker invoices - Perform monthly tie out of EEMNA OTC Broker invoices processed in Coupa against the Aligne broker fees report relying on Trade Control’s existing procedure manual.  Coordinates with the Broker and / or the Trader if needed for any variances.  Once the invoice is tied out, approves the invoice for payment in Coupa in order for payment to be processed by ENGIE North America (NA) Accounts Payable team 
  • Process daily trade exceptions and works with various business functions to reach a resolution or document appropriately – Executes the Daily Exception report as part of the End of Day Closing process using standard Aligne reports.  Reviews / investigates all exceptions and works with Traders, MR/MO, Legal, Credit etc. to resolve any outstanding issues before the final End of Day Reports are run. Documents any items that are outside of the normal resolution process for management by relying on the Trade Control’s existing procedure manual in order to publish the final report to MR/MO, Legal, Credit and Trade Control
  • Manages online trading platform access, including coordination of user accounts
  • Performs ad-hoc Aligne updates for various business groups as it relates to deal entry (Cuts, Invoicing variances, contract mismatches, group tagging, etc)
  • Assists Accounting, Scheduling, Trading, Credit and MRPC using Aligne to trouble shoot deal entry errors, perform deal tagging and creating ETB templates by relying on the Trade Control’s existing procedure manual in order to facilitate to the end of day close process for P&L and position reporting  
  • Publishes monthly reports to the Financial Reporting group (MTM for Trading, Broker Fees in multiple views, User Fees for ICE, etc) - Provides the Financial reporting group with the P&L report, broker fees reports and ICE user fee report  as of the last business day of the month using Aligne, Excel and online platforms  by relying on Trade Control’s existing procedure manual in order for Accounting to record the entries for the month end close. 
  • Trade Control Emergency Preparedness delegate - Attends Emergency Preparedness meetings on behalf of Trade Control when they are scheduled and deploys to the Emergency Preparedness off-site facility.  Delegate is responsible for coordinating all Trade Control related activity while using the company’s laptop while relying on the Emergency Preparedness policy in order to ensure all transactions are captured and accounted for in Aligne
  • Actualizes REC transactions upon notification of physical delivery. - Actualizes REC deals, runs ad-hoc reports and processes revision emails using Aligne relying on receipt of REC delivery notification emails from the Commercial group in order to reflect the correct delivery dates in Aligne
  • Assist with gathering documentation for external and internal audit requests. -Collect deal portfolio documents requested by internal and external auditors using manual and electronic filing storage areas relying on email requests in order to provide requested documents for audit purposes
  • Performs various end of day processes to include some reporting in support of Trade Control
  • Enter deal revisions into Energy Trade Blotter - Perform deal revisions in risk system using Energy Trade Blotter in Aligne relying on revision request by executing Trader and/or confirmation documentation in order to revise incorrect deal data 
  • Work in time sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines.  Includes some weekends and holidays
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrate ability to work well with others inside and outside of ENGIE Energy Marketing, NA.

Role Purpose 

As the Lead Storage Optimisation, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our short-term energy storage automated trading operations. Your primary purpose will be to create, develop, improve and maintain automated trading strategies for our BESS and hydro portfolio. 

 

You will collaborate closely with traders, quants, developers and analysts to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions, thereby directly contributing to the success of our trading strategies. 

 

Last, but not least, you will own the vision of the optimiser. So you will be responsible for driving the optimiser product to the level expected by the traders, which means you will have to collaborate with IS teams (local and central) to implement the UK requirements. 

 

Main activities 

  • Work closely with traders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. In particular: 
  • Creating new optimisation strategies. 
  • Improve existing strategies. 
  • Analyse results of the strategies and to propose solutions to improve them 
  • Deploy the strategies in the cloud (AWS is a plus). 
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration.

Contexte :

 

En tant qu’entité commercialisatrice, la BP Clients propose des solutions d'approvisionnement en énergie et des services de gestion des risques aux industriels de France, de Belgique et des Pays-Bas. Pour nos 600 clients, l’énergie est un facteur essentiel de performance opérationnelle, et nous les accompagnons dans la gestion active de leur fourniture d’énergie. Nous sommes aussi pleinement investis dans leur parcours vers une énergie plus verte, en fournissant des gaz verts, de l'électricité verte et des certificats verts.

L'équipe digital de BP Clients supervise les outils numériques utilisés par les différents membres de la BP :

  • Maintenance et amélioration de l’ « Energy Portal » utilisé par nos clients, les structureurs, les commerciaux et le back office.
  • Dashboard pour nos utilisateurs
  • Conduite de projets data et d'automatisation
  • Amélioration de l'expérience digital des clients et des utilisateurs internes

Role:

 

En tant que Chef de Projet Data & Digital, vous allez :

  • Participer à la mise en œuvre roadmap digitale
  • Conduire l’implémentation de solutions d’amélioration de nos outils
  • Assurer le support auprès des utilisateurs internes des outils (support de niveau 1 aux commerciaux, structureurs et back office)
  • Participer à l’effort de documentation de nos outils et processus
  • Construire de nouveaux outils pour accompagner les activités de nos utilisateurs internes ou de nos clients
  • Créer et aider à la création de tableaux de bord pour surveiller et piloter l'activité
  • Participer à la mise en œuvre de solutions innovantes (IA générative, machine learning, etc.)

 

Vous jouerez un rôle clé dans le renforcement de la culture data et digital de la BP Clients, et travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec diverses équipes de GEMS.

 

Compétences techniques:

Wat ga je doen als Data Scientist?

Als Data Scientist werk je in een team met ca. 5 collega’s. Het team werkt aan een Flex-platform voor onze klanten. De afdeling ontwikkelt en beheert de algoritmes, systemen en processen die nodig zijn om de flexibiliteit van klant-assets commercieel en operationeel optimaal in te zetten. Hiermee draag je met jouw team direct bij aan de energietransitie én aan het verdienmodel van de organisatie. Je gaat meewerken aan onderstaande projecten:

 

  • Het B2B-SolarFlex-project.
  • Automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR), balanceringsreserveproduct voor aansturing publieke en private laadpalen.
  • Het aansturen van grote zonneparken.
  • Het aansturen van B2B grote batterijen.
  • Het bepalen van de waarde van de flexibiliteit.

 

Wat ga je verder doen:

  • Ontwikkelen en verbeteren van sturings- en informatiealgoritmes.
  • Ontwikkelen van systemen en software voor het uitvoeren van deze algoritmes.
  • Monitoren van de operationele uitvoering en performance van de algoritmes.
  • Analyseren van data en signalen uit de operatie voor verbetering.
  • Het waarderen van de flexibiliteit van de assets.

 

Deze functie zit op het snijvlak van maatschappelijke relevantie en technologische innovatie. Je draagt direct bij aan de integratie van hernieuwbare energie in het energiesysteem en je doet dit met behulp van geavanceerde AI-algoritmes.   • Een afgeronde Wo-opleiding richting Computer Science of data Science (of een direct vergelijkbare richting).
  • Al (junior) ervaring opgedaan als Data Scientist en je hebt kennis en ervaring met Python.
  • Kennis en/of ervaring met SQL, NoSQL en Data Warehousing Concepten.
  • Beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift.

 

Wat bieden wij jou als Data Scientist?

  • 25 vakantiedagen, 13 ADV dagen en 3 ½ vitaliteitsdagen (o.b.v. een fulltime dienstverband);

  • Eindejaarsuitkering van 4,5%;
  • Een pensioenregeling bij het ABP waarvan wij 70% van de kosten op ons nemen;
  • Korting op je energiecontract met 100% groene stroom van ENGIE;
  • Een persoonlijk ontwikkelbudget van € 500,- per jaar;
  • We werken vooral hybride en dat betekent dat je o.b.v. een fulltime dienstverband twee dagen op kantoor werkt en drie dagen thuis kunt werken;
  • Goede reiskostenvergoeding, reizen met het OV wordt zelfs volledig vergoed.

The Role
Our Origination team is responsible for securing high value structured power, renewable, carbon and environmental transactions; promoting risk management solutions and market access services to wholesale clients and counterparts. Our team works in close collaboration with the Trading and Supply teams.

You’ll be responsible for converting customer relationships into a sustainable commercial outcome (“from Contacts to Contracts”).

About you

  • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Economics, Legal, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Trader, Originator, Structurer, or in energy procurement within the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM)
  • Prior experience in leading or actively partaking into complex negotiations and the end-to-end process from initiation to execution
  • Articulate, with high commercial awareness and exceptional consultative skills
  • Ability to work cross-functional in a complex matrix organisation, developing strong internal networks to deliver strategic results

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience as an Energy Market analyst, Strategic Analyst, Trading analyst or similar commercial role within the wholesale Australian Electricity sector
  • Demonstrable experience in energy market analysis and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Exposure to market driven negotiations (power trading, long term/complex agreement)
  • Commercial acumen within the thermal, hybrid, renewable or storage sector experience of C&I markets
  • Ability to interpret complex data and present a number-led story to varied audiences including cross-functional teams and leadership
