Context:

You will join the DRIVE  team, part of the Operational Excellence expertise Centre, one of the few departments within GEMS offering a transversal view over the organization. You will report directly to the Head of DRIVE.

The Operational Excellence Expertise Centre is acting as Gatekeeper of GEMS operational standards, Key driver of  continuous and sustainable improvements on the front to accounting chain, Provider of a framework within which new business initiatives can be accelerated in a secured way, Quality achieved through quantitative measurement using the Operational Risk Management tools.

In this context, DRIVE team acts as a Driver of GEMS transformation , New Business validation , Legal Entities Management, GEMS best in class process, Metier Standards with an objective of simplification and standardization whilst being an enabler for business development and strategic implementation. 

 

DRIVE team acts as transversal point of contact between the business lines and Expertise Centre’s , leading transformation programs and coordinating new products appropral process, new activities, exceptional transactions , managing all stakeholders from Front Office (initiating the request) to support functions including  operational functions such as Back Office, Finance, Risk, Legal , TAX or IT and Control Functions (e.g. Compliance, Internal Control ). The New Business Officer has the full responsibility of the impact assessment cross functions and cross countries.

Since 2022 the New Business Team has taken over the lead on Creation/ Closure of Legal Entities. In this capacity, the team will be in charge of leading the associated initiatives by conducting the appropriate workshops, coordinating and proposing the most viable and compliant set up compared to GEMS Standards.

 This is a role that requires intensive knowledge of Global Markets / CIB activities as products handled by Drive  team can be financial market products . A good knowledge of Commodities market is a plus.

Role:

  • Conduct a full Impact assessment of new product, new activity, new businesses, new fixing, new commodities .. .request by Front Office
  • Coordinate all stakeholders that might be involved in this process
  • Project management of new product, strategy, model , business initiatives or Legal Entities creation/closure
  • Be an enabler of business opportunities whilst being gatekeeper of process standards and data quality in new product process
  • Owner of approved products classification referential
  • Propose out of the box ideas and challenge status quo when necessary
  • Develop strong partnership with all front to accounting teams
  • Enabling business transformation by Managing transversal Projects / Programs
  • Leading robust project & process improvement
  • Diagnosis and reviewing processes / activities
  • Defining and Monitoring remediation plans
  • Heightening GEMS operational standards
  • Leading and Coordinating New Business, New Products, exceptional transactions validation process
  • Realizing a full transversal Impact assessment for new product, new activity
  • Driving the definition of target processes leveraging on business Subject Matter experts located in each of  the business lines: the target process definition will be driven by its alignment to GEMS Franchise developments objectives as well as its ability to allow processes simplification & standardization
  • Ensure central business project coordination in close partnership with Business Platform, Expertise Centers and IT

What You Can Expect

As our IT Developer Analyst in Houston, Texas for ENGIE’s North America’s Global Energy Management & Supply (GEMS) Group, you will work alongside a software development team to design and develop web and cloud-based applications using the Microsoft .NET framework and Azure platform. What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, engineering, or similar field where you have studied various programming languages and software methodologies to aid in design and development of applications; In lieu of a four year degree, you should bring a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in which you have gained an understanding of software development where you have designed and developed web and cloud-based applications
  • You are familiar with Microsoft SQL Server and possess a solid understanding of database management and operations
  • You are familiar with Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage, leveraging them effectively for cloud-based solutions
  • You have experience with Git or other version control systems, ensuring codebase consistency and collaboration

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,400 - $87,150 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

To provide critical analysis and insights to aid in the origination and structuring of new business opportunities within the Australian electricity market:

  • Conduct in-depth market research on supply-demand dynamics, pricing, competitors’ behaviour and regulatory changes to inform commercial strategy with emerging insights
  • Develop reports and dashboards to monitor market data and support  origination activities
  • Build and update financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, monitor deals performance, and assess risks / returns of different structuring options
  • Provide accurate and timely data analysis for structuring and executing deals, and contribute in pre-transaction due diligence
  • Monitor clients feedback, portfolio performance and market developments.

About you:

  • Excellent commercial analytical skills, capable of finding a deal amongst lemons.
  • Good storytelling aptitude to distill complex data into coherent narratives. Degree / masters qualified in Economics, actuarial studies, engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience as an Energy market or Trading analyst, preferably within the National Electricity Market.
  • Proven expertise in energy market analysis, including knowledge of electricity market structures, regulations, and market participants
  • Solid commercial acumen within the thermal, hybrid, renewable or storage sector; experience of PPA in BESS, Wind and Solar power stations is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Context:

The Transversal Business BESS team facilitates the strategy, development and management of battery energy storage systems and other related power flex across the Engie regions. The team promotes exchange of BESS best practices across regions, with focus on:

  • Valuation methodology incl. risk-reducing portfolio effects with RES & Sales
  • Risk mandate incl risk .metrics and P&L reporting
  • Commercial dvpt. & structuring of BESS termsheets
  • IS connectivity, algorithms and data mgt

 

 

Role:

  • Act as SPOC for the Engie BUs on BESS & Flex valuation requests, thereby challenging, prioritizing and providing indicative ballpark estimations before conducting more in-depth studies
  • Collect, centralize and design the database to assess the risk reduction and value creation potential between the different Engie BU’s and entitities with power flexibility and/or intermittency risks of Engie
  • Contribute to the forward BESS & Flex valuation methodology in cooperation with Trading, Analysts, Quants and Strategy
  • Coordinate the global BESS input into the Risk mandate and Financial budget exercizes, and work on ad hoc BESS related topics for GEMS

Education and professional background:

  • 5-15 years of professional experience in the energy markets, with proven track record in valuation & risk modelling, portfolio management and/or structuring roles
  • Higher education, preferably a university degree in a quantitative area (IT, finance, engineering, mathematics, economics) or alternatively, an appropriate on-field experience

 

Languages:

  • English
  • Any other language is an asset   

Travels:

  • Occasional travel may be required

Collections Analyst I

What You Can Expect

As a Collections Analyst, you will mitigate credit risk and minimize credit losses by following established collections procedures. In this role, you will use effective communication and business judgment to enforce compliance with contractual payment terms through direct customer contact. You will manage internal and external customer inquiries to ensure timely resolution and oversee the accurate and efficient handling of disconnect and reconnect processes.

 

  • Specialize in debt collection, focusing on reducing DSO and increasing cash flow through outbound calls and follow-ups on past-due bills
  • Handle collections of term fees, returned checks, and ensure accurate recording of collection activities.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues, advise on remittance, and coordinate with analysts to manage delinquent accounts
  • Recommend process improvements, ensure compliance with market collection rules, and support documentation for customer disputes or drop decisions
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, and accounting teams, and meet/exceed collection metrics to ensure timely payments and professional customer interactions
  • Assist with monthly reporting and accounting requirements

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s Degree Accounting or Business or 3 years of energy industry experience in lieu of degree
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of business experience, with at least 3 years of high-volume corporate collections experience
  • You hold a strong background in commercial collections, demonstrating expertise in managing delinquent accounts and improving cash flow
  • You are proficient in handling complex collections tasks, with a focus on customer service and resolution
  • You have experience using Salesforce

 

 

Additional Details

 

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy will consist of three (3) days in office and two (2) days working remotely
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $30.00 – $36.00 USD annually
