Context:

The position belongs to the Quantitative Data Analysts team in Belgium (Brussels) specifically dedicated to assist the management of risks for belgian B2C and B2B Energy Suppliers.

As a member of the quantitative analysts community of the Business Platform Downstream, one can also contribute to transversal projects impacting the activity of other commercial BUs.

The main missions associated with the position are :

  • Based on data collection and analysis, to build models, tools, processes and data representations, that are used to manage the commodity risks linked to the dynamics of a Supply portfolio
  • The purpose of this work is to operate and optimize costing, forecasting, sourcing and hedging strategies, within a defined mandate

The quantitative analyst / data scientist will do the design, but also the development and ensure the delivery of these models and tools. Beyond that, he will also provide scientific expertise for bespoke analysis, related to data or models.

Role:

 

  The daily responsibilities of the new role will include:

  • Contribute to the development of the tools, models, process and portfolio/data representation used for
    • Representation of all commodity exposures and associated risks (evolution of the commercial position, climatic impact on short term consumption forecasts, ...)
    • New commercial offers
    • Customer behavior analysis
  • Ensure the run of models and derived operations
  • Provide BUs B2C and B2B Belgium with a deep knowledge of its commodity sales portfolios (Natural Gas, Power and Certificates) and optimally structure the portfolio representation
  • Use large range of data to ensure correct representation  
  • Promote good practice, especially around data and code
  • Ensure code quality by following general rules and standards
  • Interact with other quantitative analysts/data scientists, to exchange about models, data, business or technical topics beyond the team

 

Hard skills:

  • Must have:
    • Strong scientific background: mathematics (probability/statistics), data science, machine learning, ideally with good command of time series forecasting
    • Strong skills in software (ideally Python) programming and related tools (versioning, etc.)
    • Willingness to embrace data handling and operational analytics
    • Practical thinking, hands-on approach
    • Ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues to non-experts in a simple and pedagogic way
  • Good to have:
    • Interest for the Energy markets and Energy-transition topics
    • Knowledge of modern data science platforms and engines such as Databricks and Spark is a plus

Your mission 

 

As an Electrical Engineer, you will focus on SCADA systems, managing their design, optimization, and integration for control centres in HV/MV substations. You’ll ensure that SCADA and related systems meet the highest industry standards for performance, security, and functionality.


Your key responsibilities
 

  • Lead the design and implementation of SCADA systems for T&D networks and control centres.
  • Integrate SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) into substation automation systems (SAS).
  • Develop technical specifications for SCADA-related equipment and systems.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and optimization of SCADA systems for operational efficiency.
  • Manage procurement and factory acceptance testing (FAT) for SCADA systems.
  • Coordinate the integration of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and performance monitoring of SCADA systems.
     

We would love to hear from people with

  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience with SCADA systems in transmission and distribution networks.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA, EMS, ADMS, and SAS systems.

Context:

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of around 40 quantitative analysts. It’s mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst will be part of the “Power & Emissions” quant team (approximately 10 people) and will be supporting the different local business platforms, with a focus on the US Business Platform located in Houston.

Role:

 

The quantitative analyst should design and provide robust quantitative tools that have a concrete impact on the power business:

  • Work very closely with the BP US, mainly with the Renewable and Batteries Trading teams. He / She needs to understand their business needs, and needs to provide them with high-quality quantitative support in their day to day activities.
  • Participate in enhancing the existing pricing and managing framework.
  • Deliver ad hoc tactical solutions as well as develop new pricers in the official pricing library.
  • Play a key role for developing new products, linked for example to the renewable and battery business (pricing, managing strategies, various risk indicators, …).
  • Promote best coding practices that comply with general rules and standards.
  • Document and share knowledge across GEMS on the different models used within GEMS.

Context:

The applicant will join the "Digital and Data Accelerator" (DDA) team. Context :

Under the authority of the Head of Compensation and Benefits and in close collaboration with the Senior C&B Specialist in Brussels, you will work within the HR Expertise Center of GEMS unit both in Paris and Brussels, with occasional travels oustide Brussels and Paris.      

You will be in charge of Comp and Ben initiatives and projects while ensuring the operational management of the reward processes and practices contributing to attract, retain and motivate high-quality employees while enhancing GEMS as the best place to work.

Your role :

As part of our team, you will play a central role in the HR Expertise Center of GEMS unit. You will be involved in various missions:

 

  • Ensure that our salary and bonus review process is well implemented in our reward digital tool (beqom) in close collaboration with the project owner (requirement definition, testing, return of experience…)

 

  • Ensure compliance of the C&B practices with the initiatives launched by the Engie Group, GEMS strategy and applicable local legislation and regulations (banking regulatory standards and requirements as CRDIV / IFR, IFD…),
  • Manage warrants campaigns, follow-up on withholding taxes and manage bonus collective to Belgian employees

 

  • Prepare payroll instructions and letters

 

  • Manage Flexible Benefits plan (My Choice) & new initiatives on Mobility budgets « Green » (+Car Policy)…

 

  • Work on the C&B processes simplification and automatization

 

  • Ensure the hands-on management of C&B processes and programs such as annual salary review, deferred compensation, LTI's and employee share ownership,

 

  • Participate in annual salary surveys and analyze competitive trends in the markets to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits in order to make most valued recommendations,

 

  • Budgetary control of salary costs and provisions (Bonus pool, standard costs, Expats...) in collaboration with Management Control and the Tax Department (Transfer Pricing),

 

  • Prepare statistical analyses and reports for the various stakeholders Compliance department, Compensation Committee, Management Committee, Finance department, HR group…

 

  • Contribute to the design of C&B policies and processes as well as their proper communication in order to contribute to their dissemination and understanding among managers & employees, especially in Belgium

Senior Business Controller & head of reporting Corporate BU

Your function:

  • Support in the elaboration and analysis of the various forecasting exercises, in particular in annual budget and Medium-Term Plan (MTP). Mainly through animating the dialog with the Business Areas, challenging and synthetizing financial and operational information and assisting in the definition of proposed target for the Business Unit (BU).
  • Analyze, monitor, and report actual performance on a monthly basis, ensuring alignment with yearly objectives.
  • Contribute to the reporting and communication of the synthesis of actual results and budget/MTP of the Business Unit (BU).
  • Ensure coherence and quality of actuals and forecast data as well as compliance with internal financial policies and external reporting standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Develop dashboards and ensure the follow-up of financial and/or operational KPIs for your specific area of responsibility.
  • Propose corrective actions necessary to achieve yearly objectives if/when required, including cost reduction initiatives.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses upon request from management.
  • Monitor the closing process at the BU level and propose continuous improvements.
    Propose continuous improvement in the processes, templates and KPIs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment and transparency.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Accounting, Administration, Economics, or Management Sciences, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient active knowledge of French and English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering business is an advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in office tools (MS Office), particularly Excel, and experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent organizational, accuracy, and rigor skills.
  • Capable of working under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience in leading and managing budgeting, reporting and consolidation processes in a multi-BA environment and with international teams team is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, integrating seamlessly into multidisciplinary teams; dynamic and proactive in taking initiatives.
  • Assertive with the ability to clearly and firmly communicate your point of view in case of differing opinions.

Your mission   

 

As Technical Officer in our Nuclear department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in : 

  • Provide expert guidance and support on various aspects of nuclear technology, safety, and regulations.
  • Provide close technical coaching to dedicated teams - lead the activities in his domain and ensures the development of the necessary tools & methods and environment

Your key responsibilities   

 

  • Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of nuclear systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Analyze complex technical issues, troubleshooting system problems, and offering recommendations for improvements or solutions.
  • Participate to the draft of offers and budget definition in own domain of expertise
  • Participate to meetings with customers as coordinator and technical advisor

 
We would love to hear from people with  

 

  • Master degree in Engineering. A degree in Nuclear Science constitutes a further asset.
  • 10 to 15 year experience in general nuclear safety (engineering, explotation, etc).Experience of modular reactors (PWR, MWR, LMFR, MSR)
  • Experience in engineering conception, safety analysis (DOC, PSAR, DSAR...), radiological calculations, equipment clasisfication and qualification. 

 

Who you are   

 

  • Language: Good knowledge of Dutch or French, and English.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear engineering, safety standards, and environmental regulations is crucial for the role.
