Context:

The GEM Back Office Department is looking for an apprentice within the Trading Support team, you will be managing Day to day Operations on Gas, Power, Oil and Emission trades

 

Role:

  • you reconcile & validate deals inputted by Sales and Traders (OTC & Exchanges).
  • you manage daily Margin Calls for OTC and Cleared deals
  • you are checking Derivatives Products bookings & expiry levels.                                                                   
  • you are responsible for issuing and matching Deal Confirmations, Invoices & Settlements.
  • you liaise with Front Office & other Support Functions for a better Trading Floor activities understanding.
  • you will assist team on day to day tasks.                                                                                                                                                                     
  • you will chaise counterparties regarding confirmations and late payment.
  • you will cooperate with the other departments.                                                                                                                                                  
  • you will handle requests received in the mailbox.

 

 

Hard skills:

  • Client focused and willing to have extensive interactions with Sales, Trading, Market Risk, Finance.

Context:

The Back-office Department ensures the management of energy sales/purchase contracts (gas, electricity), invoicing, confirmation of deals, confirmation of payments, monitoring of unpaids, reporting of KPIs, etc.

A true transmission belt between the sale/purchases of energy and services and financial management, the Back Office is a key player at the heart of the operational chain. More specifically, the Back Office Global Energy Management team manages the portfolio of Gas, Electricity and Service supply contracts signed with major industrial accounts in France.

 

The Back Officer provides operational support to the Front Office and finance teams, particularly in the invoicing process, financial reporting relating to the contract portfolios managed by the team facing Engie SA and its various entities, manages and monitors the IT developments of the processes related to improving team activity.

Context:

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of 30 quantitative analysts. Its mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst would be part of the “Gas & Oil” quant team (approx. 10 people) but fully dedicated to Gas Supply & Trading (GST) Business Platform (BP). Within this BP, the midstream and upstream gas trading desks are risk managing complex assets in the financial markets, on behalf of internal and external clients.

 


 Role:

The Quantitative Analyst will be focused on the activities of Gas Supply and Trading desks.
The Quantitative Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the models that guide our financial and physical trading, portfolio management and risk assessment activities. 

This role is an opportunity to directly apply advanced modelling techniques as part of a highly quantitative team, with extensive experience on derivatives pricing, risk management and trading.

 The team will rely on him/her to be a real value added to the team, as a support on diverse modelling challenges. He/she will contribute to the whole valuation and risk management chain of a derivatives portfolio.

 

The Quantitative Analyst, will be responsible for the following:

  • Generate end to end model development and design from data preparation to the build & implementation, validation and calibration of derivatives pricing models
  • Theoretical development of appropriate pricing formulas of each derivative traded
    • Conceptual soundness of the modelling framework
    • Consistency with market practice
    • Proofs and mathematical evidence of formulas
    • Documentation of the methodology

At GEMS, Compliance, Ethics and Privacy is part of an Expertise Center (“EC CEP”) and acts as 2nd line of defense by  ensuring a safe business development and operating environment, with respect of banking & market regulations, thereby preserving business continuity and mitigating reputational risk. What you will do:

  • Develop, implement, enforce and update policies, procedures and control plan;
  • Contribute to  a sound and robust compliance oversight and culture within GEMS in the scope of European regulations applicable to financial markets (MAD/MAR, REMIT, MIFID II, EMIR …);
  • Ensure the implementation of the compliance framework including identifying and raising gaps for remediation if needed
  • Developing and maintaining a transversal risked-based framework to focus on major compliance, ethics and privacy risks and perform an efficient risk-monitoring program;
  • Contribute to implement and to ensure follow-up on compliance training and communication plan;
  • Be a key referent on communication tools, ensure training on them to Compliance Officers, monitor their efficiency;

What You’ll Bring

  • You are currently pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, STEM, or a related field

  • You have exposure to wholesale electricity markets and an understanding of market dynamics

ENGIE Supply & Energy Management (SEM) is responsible for managing the portfolio of gas, electricity, congestion revenues rights and environmental products for ENGIE, across geographies. More recently, SEM has extended his scope to also manage all the market risks (energy, congestion, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), ancillaries) generated by the Renewable and Battery Storage Assets owned by ENGIE North America, which includes wind farms and solar farms – the Renewable Portfolio Management team is precisely the group in charge of these activities.

 

As a Renewable Portfolio Management Senior Commercial Advisor, you will develop and deploy commercial trading and hedging strategies to maximize the profitability of renewable assets and co-located loads while managing market risks within acceptable risk limits. With a growing internal and external portfolio over 6 GW under management, this position will require strong expertise working with large utility scale assets and provide the attractive growth opportunities to lead a rapidly expanding team.

 

  • Join a team of renewable portfolio managers to manage a growing portfolio of wind and solar assets expected to reach 8GW+ of installed capacity in the coming years
  • Develop and execute a strategy for forward hedging of wind and solar assets in conjunction with the other parts of ENGIE North America which warehouse or originate electricity market risks (Battery Storage, Data Centers, Retail, Trading)
  • Model long term valuations for the co-location of renewable and battery storage assets with data centers and Power to X sites
  • Create optimized trading strategies around co-located sites to mitigate risks and maximize portfolio profitability
  • Articulate and execute hedging strategies deploying different instruments according various  risk profiles, including energy hedges, gas hedges, options, Virtuals, Point-to-Point transactions, Firm Transmission Rights, Transmission Congestion Rights, Congestion Revenue Rights (FTR/TCR/CRRs), and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) financial power transactions
  • Build and deploy strategies for Day-Ahead offers for a large portfolio of wind and solar farms
  • Develop strategies and execute trades  with our Congestion Trading team to assess congestion risks in the respective Independent System Operators (ISOs)
  • Engage ENGIE’s external partners to advance new product business initiatives
  • Analyze and discuss the commercial terms of existing and upcoming Power Purchase Agreement (PPAs), identifying the underlying risks, and proposing alternative language and/or risk mitigation strategies
  • Analyze and price option strategies designed to reduce tail-end risk exposure to market volatility and inherent asset offtake structures
  • Monitor markets trends, regulatory landscape, current risk levels and exposures, and other relevant sources of impacts

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or any other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 10 years of general business experience

The Expertise Center Global Market Analysis (GMA) is looking for a Senior Expert Power Market Analyst.

He/She will report to the leader of market analysis for mid term power markets.

The market analyst teams develop consistent market views (gas, power, oil, emissions, weather) to explain market moves and forecast future evolution ; build and run forecasting & simulation models ; propose, enhance and follow trading strategies ; pro-actively seek innovative solutions to improve sales, traders and business developers performance as well as to support senior managers in their decision making process ; provide market analysis reports and services to a defined set of internal and external clients ; provide strategic insights on new businesses linked to energy transition ; represent GEMS in external forum or conferences in relation with energy market knowledge, meteorology or hydrology ; producing economic and financial analysis for origination, negotiation, valuation and management of assets.

 

Role:

 

The Senior Expert Power Market Analyst will focus on the development of multi scenario fundamental power price forecast over 5 to 10 years. This project is of high importance for GEMS and Engie to improve asset & portfolio valuation, risk management and investment decision making.

He/she will work closely with the GMA Power Market Analysis teams and the Meteo Analysis team to coordinate the work and build on their expertise. He will also drive the collaboration with Engie Impact Advisory teams who contribute to the project. He/she will contribute to GMA internal fundamental modeling platform.

 

The senior expert analyst is accountable for the analysis performed by GMA teams for the asset and portfolio valuations. He/she is the point of contact with the NWE Power Cluster, Risk, AIFA and the new S&EM Portfolio entity.

 

The senior expert analyst will work closely with all market analysis leaders to share transversal activities and competences in the expertise center teams.

He/she will be in close contact with the Regulation teams in charge of defining and defending GEMS/Engie positions for future market design and regulation.

Context :

The Credit risk Analyst role is part of EC Risk Europe, the Risk Division of GEMS in Europe and will be managing credit risk resulting from the Energy Management, Global Energy & B2B Supply activities in Europe. Credit Analysis

  • In-depth credit analysis of European clients (analysis of the financials, sector analysis, market & environment, peers and SWOT analysis)
  • Rating recommendation and validation in ECR rating tool
