Your mission  
 
Within the Metier Nuclear Safety & Engineering, the groups Safety & Licensing Studies and Safety Implementation & SAR are responsible for the following activities:
Nuclear Safety-related requirement management for the projects;
 

  • Harmonized safety analyses for multidisciplinary nuclear projects;
  • Support to customers for drafting nuclear licensing and permitting documents;
  • Specific technical expertise, e.g.:

-Calculation of radiological consequences;
-Statistical Setpoint Studies;
-Internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case;  -Determination of PIE’s (Postulated Initiating Events – internal or external), importance and prioritisation of PIE’s, choice of DBA’s (Design Basis Accidents);
-Definition of the classification of systems, structures, components and;
-Assistance to the client for writing, optimization and compliance of Technical Specifications;
-Assistance to the client with respect to Integrated Management Systems (IMS);

  • Operational support and training in the various disciplines practiced;
  • Safety Culture : contribute to the understanding and implementation inside TE of nuclear safety principles;

 
Your key responsibilities  
 
As a Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer - Confirmed, you will work in several of the following domains:  
 

  • Safety Officer function within projects: assure the proper consideration of nuclear licensing and safety aspects in studies/projects; establish and manage safety requirements, analyze and ensure compliance with safety requirements, organize safety reviews, contacts with Safety Authorities; 
  • Assistance to the client’s nuclear licensing process, including the establishment of associated documents such as PSAR and FSAR (preliminary and final safety assessment report);
  • Safety analysis and assessment, e.g.: classification & qualification requirements with respect to safety functions and items important to safety, radiological consequences studies, internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case, determination of PIE’s (postulated initiating events) and DBA’s (design basis accidents), statistical setpoint studies;

 
 
We would love to hear from people with  
 

  • You have a master degree in Engineering  with experience in nuclear safety (engineering, operations...)
  • You are a “generalist”, having knowledge of all technical disciplines within the nuclear domain, enabling you to discuss on safety aspects related to these disciplines;
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience with the general nuclear safety approach and general nuclear licensing preferably within the French or Belgian licensing process;
  • Experience with SMR projects. 
  • You speak and write French and English (Dutch is a plus) on a professional level.

Your mission


As Senior Nuclear Engineer in our Radioactive Waste Management department, you will contribute to our mission every day by playing a crucial role in:
•    Conducting and coordinating Engineering Studies in the field of Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning.
•    Covering both the radioactive waste resulting from operations and from dismantling.

 

 

Your key responsibilities


•    Knowledge of nuclear decommissioning processes in general, experience with the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant is an asset.
•    Knowledge about the implementation of decommissioning concepts on site.
•    Knowledge about cutting- and decontamination techniques.
•    Knowledge about solid, liquid and gaseous radioactive waste types and treatment.
•    Knowledge about treatment and conditioning of solid radioactive waste.
•    Knowledge about the assessment, analysis and management of the decommissioning radioactive waste inventory.
•    Knowledge about disposal concepts for different types of radioactive waste is an asset.
•    Knowledge about waste packages for storage, transport, and/or disposal.
•    Development of waste management and decommissioning strategies and related optioneering assessments.
•    Verification of technical specifications, technical follow-up of contracts and commissioning of installations for the treatment and/or conditioning of radioactive waste.
•    Verify the technical work performed by your peers.
•    Actively engage in knowledge sharing with others.
•    Coaching of young colleagues.
•    Working in close relationship with the final Client and interact with Safety Authorities and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency.

•    An experience of 10 years at least in the domain of the radioactive waste management or decommissioning.
•    A Master’s degree in Engineering / Sciences, chartership is an asset.
•    Language: English, (passive) knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset.

•    Capable of producing and verifying high quality technical documents, regardless of the topic’s complexity.

Mission

  • You issue/collaborate to the quality insurance plan related to your field of expertise.
  • You establish design principles for installations/equipment/structures.
  • You collaborate with the Owner and with other designers in developing the project design.
  • You guarantee proper dimensioning of the installations/equipment/structures.
  • You control and monitor the creation and progress of any graphic materials and any measurement overviews.
  • You issue Design Notes, Drafts, Models, Specifications, Technical Specifications and Briefs etc.
  • You provide bills of quantities and cost estimates for the works under consideration.
  • You control and validate the produced documents (analysis, brief) before delivery.

  • You create graphic materials based on instructions of the Lead Engineer.

Profile

  • You have a Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in Electrical Design;
  • You have been involved in all engineering and design aspects and phases of projects: design, engineering, modelling, tender, execution;
  • You have a good understanding of electrical installations: medium voltage / low voltage / very low voltage;
  • You have a good knowledge of low voltage systems: electrical cabinets / earthing / (emergency)lighting / security supply (UPS/generators) / lightning protection /  cabling, selectivity, voltage drop, etc
  • You have a good knowledge of very low voltage systems: data / fire detection / access control / CCTV / …
  • You have expertise in using 2D & 3D drawing tools (Autocad, Stabicad, Revit);
  • You have good communication skills;

Your mission


  
As Project Director in the Infrastructure Business Line of Tractebel, you will play a pivotal role in the management and delivery of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for large-scale infrastructure projects, such as Data Centers or other multi-technical constructions.

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the entire project lifecycle on behalf of the Client, ensuring successful execution from concept to commissioning and hand-over. This includes assembling and leading a high-performing team, managing project controls, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and maintaining strong client relationships.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Managing and organizing a PMC project team of approximately 40 staff members, ensuring performance, well-being, and efficient deployment.
  • Overseeing staff presence on-site, managing back-ups, rotations during holiday periods, and coordinating weekend/night work as required.
  • Acting as the primary contact for the Client and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring clear, effective communication both formally and informally.
  • Anticipating risks and challenges, and reporting critical issues to Tractebel’s Project Director or Project Sponsor.
  • Preparing essential project documentation, including the Project Execution Plan.
  • Delivering PMC services to the satisfaction of the Client, covering areas such as:
    • Project Controls: Developing tools and monitoring schedule and cost progress, critically assessing contractor reports, and identifying risks.
    • Contract and Commercial Management: Managing multiple contractor agreements, overseeing changes, maintaining financial reporting, and ensuring contractual compliance.
    • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating project risks.
    • Construction Management: Coordinating contractors’ on-site work, optimizing work sequences, and providing authorizations.
    • QAQC Management: Conducting quality control, including Factory Acceptance Tests and ensuring proper hand-over to commissioning.

We would love to hear from people with  
 

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 20 years of professional experience, including 10+ years in project management roles for large-scale infrastructure construction projects.
  • Expertise in multi-contractor projects, with experience in Data Center or similar infrastructure being a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in procurement, construction, contract management, and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills.

TRACTEBEL is a key player for the detailed design of the Nuclear Island at Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC), some of the world’s largest construction projects. As well as our flagship projects, TRACTEBEL also has a pipeline of other projects in the nuclear industry to feed our expansion in 2024 and 2025.

The OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for motivated and experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineers to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your mechanical expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams.

 

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your technical experience and the position you take within our team:

 

  • Providing technical leadership and team management to deliver work packages effectively.
  • Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project stakeholders.
  • Working within a team responsible for a number of design elements, where you will conduct or review work on the following topics:
    • Engineering and design of mechanical structures and components, including seismic design.
    • Structural integrity assessment of mechanical components to British Standards, RCC-M and ASME Section III Codes for the construction or operation of new/existing nuclear power plants.
    • Finite element analysis for thermal and pressure fatigue evaluation of mechanical and piping components according to RCC-M and ASME requirements.
    • Support clients to safely restart their nuclear power plant units through prompt and sensible assessment.
    • Analysis / design of components, including pumps, valves and supporting structures.
    • Calculation of piping components, including classified components for existing or new structures.
    • Other: Fracture mechanics studies, ageing of structures and components, design and calculation of anchorage elements, seismic margin assessment of existing structures (SMA, SPSA), seismic qualification of active components.
  • Writing and reviewing of component technical specifications (performance, scope of supply and limits of supply definition, design requirements, applicable criteria to be fulfilled, etc.).
  • Providing technical review and responding to site queries and requested changes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to support contractor activities on HPC site.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the business development team during the tendering process for our future project stream.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership with the IMechE, or with equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in structural analysis and design of structural components.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including 5 years working in the nuclear industry.
  • Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and Industry Standards (Eurocodes, British Standard, RCC-M and ASME).
  • Experienced in general purpose finite element and structural design software (e.g. PIPESTRESS, BEAMSTRESS, ANSYS, SYSTUS etc.) for static or dynamic loading, linear or non-linear analysis.
  • Proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team.
  • Agile and self-motivated, with a focus on improving personal and team performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects and can demonstrate ability to deliver high quality work packages to schedule.
  • You enjoy new challenges and are keen to learn and willing to take responsibility whilst also wanting to support others within our team.

Jouw missie  

 

Als planner in onze afdeling Infrastructure draag je dagelijks bij aan de succesvolle uitvoering van onze bouw- en infrastructuurprojecten. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het opstellen, volgen en bijsturen van gedetailleerde projectplanningen, zodat alles op tijd en binnen budget wordt gerealiseerd 

 

Je belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden  
 

Gegevensverwerking en -analyse:

  • Verwerken en analyseren van gegevens in Excel, SAP en de planningstool Planisware.
  • Bepalen en onderhouden van planningsparameters

Planningsbewaking en verstoringdetectie:

  • Detecteren van mogelijke verstoringen in het proces en proactief problemen vermijden
  • Tijdig signaleren van knelpunten op basis van analyses

Acties en samenwerking:

  • Samenwerken met Team Managers om gerichte acties te nemen voor korte termijnproblemen
  • Doen van voorstellen voor langetermijnverbeteringen om de efficiëntie en kwaliteit te verhogen

Ondersteuning bij infrastructuurprojecten:

  • Meewerken aan het ontwerp en de planning van infrastructuurprojecten zoals snelwegen, gewestwegen, stedelijke wegen, openbare ruimtes, en tram-/metronetwerken
