Context:

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of around 40 quantitative analysts. It’s mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst will be part of the “Power & Emissions” quant team (approximately 10 people) and will be supporting the different local business platforms, with a focus on the US Business Platform located in Houston.

Role:

 

The quantitative analyst should design and provide robust quantitative tools that have a concrete impact on the power business:

  • Work very closely with the BP US, mainly with the Renewable and Batteries Trading teams. He / She needs to understand their business needs, and needs to provide them with high-quality quantitative support in their day to day activities.
  • Participate in enhancing the existing pricing and managing framework.
  • Deliver ad hoc tactical solutions as well as develop new pricers in the official pricing library.
  • Play a key role for developing new products, linked for example to the renewable and battery business (pricing, managing strategies, various risk indicators, …).
  • Promote best coding practices that comply with general rules and standards.
  • Document and share knowledge across GEMS on the different models used within GEMS.

 

 

Hard skills:

  • Must have:
    • Strong Financial Mathematical background (probability, stochastic calculus, various numerical methods such as Monte Carlo, finite differences, …)
    • Experience on different optimization methods
    • Strong coding experience (preferably C# and python), object oriented programming skills
    • Experience in a trading environment
    • Familiar with Git

The Senior Power Trader  is responsible for risk management and trade within the Northeast power markets for ENGIE Energy Marketing, North America  (EEMNA). The position is responsible for managing loads and resources and identifying and executing trading opportunities in the term markets. What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelors or  Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Systems) Business Administration or we will accept nine (9) years of work experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Power trading experience in which you have gained an understanding of business, energy markets, risk management, and trading strategies
  • You are a disciplined risk taker with a strategic approach to trading.
  • You have strong analytical skills, enabling you to make data-driven decisions
  • You are knowledgeable in Northeast gas and power markets, with a deep understanding of market dynamics

Compensation

Salary Range: $131,000 – $190,000 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Contexte:

Vous intégrerez l’équipe de recherche et de modélisation quantitative (QRM) qui s’occupe de valoriser et modéliser les risques des produits financiers présents dans le portefeuille de GEMS. Ces produits peuvent être des produits financiers ou physiques comme des actifs de production d’ENGIE. L’équipe QRM est divisée en plusieurs sous équipes dont une spécialisée sur le marché de l’électricité (QRM Power). Elle est constituée d’environ une douzaine de personnes qui travaillent quotidiennement avec les traders, structurers, vendeurs et IT.

 

Elle fournit différentes librairies écrites en Python ou C# qui sont utilisées pour

  • Créer des prototypes utilisés pour l’analyse des positions, pour le pricing de nouveaux deals et pour le monitoring du marché.
  • Calculer le PnL et analyser les risques des portefeuilles d’Engie grâce à des modèles stochastiques implémentés dans ces librairies.

 

L’équipe d’analystes offre aussi une capacité d’analyse technique pour aider le Trading à mieux appréhender les problèmes divers qu’il peut rencontrer dans son activité quotidienne.

 

Role:

Au sein de l’équipe QRM Power vous serez chargé :

  • interagir régulièrement avec les traders pour mieux comprendre leurs besoins business et leur fournir un support quantitatif adapté dans le cadre de leurs activités quotidiennes, définir leurs besoins en termes de modèles et les traduire en développements concrets.
  • interagir avec les autres Quants pour échanger sur les modèles, avec pour but de faire émerger de nouvelles idées et tirer parti du partage de connaissances avec les pairs.
  • développer dans la librairie de pricing officielle (en C# et python) en suivant les règles générales et normes de codage, afin de produire un code de qualité.
  • développer des outils de pricing « ad hoc » et des prototypes utilisés par le Front Office, en s’appuyant dans la mesure du possible sur la librairie de pricing.
  • collaborer avec d’autres Quants et équipes de GEMS (IS, Risk Methodo, …).

Plus particulièrement vous serez amené à travailler sur deux sujets :

  • Travailler sur le modele en cours de développement qui est un modèle HJM avec une vol stochastique :
    • Calculer les grecques par différentiation automatique en utilisant tensorflow ou jax
    • Implémenter un Monte Carlo pour le modele HJM vol sto avec differentes methoses d’optimisation et de reduction de variance.
    • Ajouter à la version deterministe un markov fonctional adapter au HJM
    • Tester le P&L explain des différents modeles HJM
  • Continuer les travaux sur un modele generatif pour déduire des données historiques une nappe de volatilite
  • Travailler sur un modele de machine learning: a generative model for arbitrage-free implied volatility surfaces écrit par Milena Vuletić et Rama Cont

 

Début de la mission : septembre 2025 pour une durée minimale de 12 mois.

Context:

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of 30 quantitative analysts. Its mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst would be part of the “Gas & Oil” quant team (approx. 10 people) but fully dedicated to Gas Supply & Trading (GST) Business Platform (BP). Within this BP, the midstream and upstream gas trading desks are risk managing complex assets in the financial markets, on behalf of internal and external clients.

 


 Role:

The Quantitative Analyst will be focused on the activities of Gas Supply and Trading desks.
The Quantitative Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the models that guide our financial and physical trading, portfolio management and risk assessment activities. 

This role is an opportunity to directly apply advanced modelling techniques as part of a highly quantitative team, with extensive experience on derivatives pricing, risk management and trading.

 The team will rely on him/her to be a real value added to the team, as a support on diverse modelling challenges. He/she will contribute to the whole valuation and risk management chain of a derivatives portfolio.

 

The Quantitative Analyst, will be responsible for the following:

  • Generate end to end model development and design from data preparation to the build & implementation, validation and calibration of derivatives pricing models
  • Theoretical development of appropriate pricing formulas of each derivative traded
    • Conceptual soundness of the modelling framework
    • Consistency with market practice
    • Proofs and mathematical evidence of formulas

About Synatom
Synatom, a 100% subsidiary of ENGIE Electrabel, manages the nuclear fuel cycle for Belgian nuclear power plants. This includes procuring uranium and supplying enriched uranium for fuel assembly production.

Role overview
This is a unique opportunity to join a young and dynamic team where you can grow your responsibilities over time. You will gain expertise across diverse aspects of private markets investing, be in touch with some of the most sophisticated players in the space and play a role in shaping Synatom’s evolving investment processes.
The successful candidate will join the Investment Team to work closely with the Private Markets Investment Manager supporting the analysis, implementation, and monitoring of private markets investment funds (private equity and private debt). While Synatom currently works with an external consultant for manager sourcing and modeling, the role offers the opportunity to take on more responsibility as private markets tasks are increasingly insourced. The candidate will be expected to grow with the position by taking ownership of some investments and processes. 

Key responsibilities
As a Private Markets Investment Analyst, you will : 

  • Assist in reviewing and challenging investment opportunities and financial modelling provided by the external consultant.
  • Participate in meetings with fund managers to validate investment theses and engage in post-investment monitoring.
  • Facilitate the closing of the fund investments by preparing legal documents and coordinating with legal and tax advisors to ensure timely closing of fund commitments. 
  • Monitor existing investments, enhance investment tracking tools, and contribute to the further insourcing of the investment process. 
  • Monitor and react appropriately to funds’ communications (drawdown/distribution notices, quarterly valuations and reports, funds’ correspondence/requests, etc.) and maintain electronic filing of all relevant documents.
  • Process drawdowns/distributions notices and quarterly reports, ensuring data accuracy in internal and external systems.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Team to ensure timely payment of drawdowns and receipt of distributions. 
  • Prepare presentations and reports for the Investment Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Contribute to the integration of private markets investments in a new portfolio management system. 
  • Support the investment team on broader investment-related topics or projects, including asset-liability management, strategic asset allocation or selection of key providers.

ENGIE Supply & Energy Management (SEM) is responsible for managing the portfolio of gas, electricity, congestion revenues rights and environmental products for ENGIE, across geographies. More recently, SEM has extended his scope to also manage all the market risks (energy, congestion, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), ancillaries) generated by the Renewable and Battery Storage Assets owned by ENGIE North America, which includes wind farms and solar farms – the Renewable Portfolio Management team is precisely the group in charge of these activities.

 

As a Renewable Portfolio Management Senior Commercial Advisor, you will develop and deploy commercial trading and hedging strategies to maximize the profitability of renewable assets and co-located loads while managing market risks within acceptable risk limits. With a growing internal and external portfolio over 6 GW under management, this position will require strong expertise working with large utility scale assets and provide the attractive growth opportunities to lead a rapidly expanding team.

 

  • Join a team of renewable portfolio managers to manage a growing portfolio of wind and solar assets expected to reach 8GW+ of installed capacity in the coming years
  • Develop and execute a strategy for forward hedging of wind and solar assets in conjunction with the other parts of ENGIE North America which warehouse or originate electricity market risks (Battery Storage, Data Centers, Retail, Trading)
  • Model long term valuations for the co-location of renewable and battery storage assets with data centers and Power to X sites
  • Create optimized trading strategies around co-located sites to mitigate risks and maximize portfolio profitability
  • Articulate and execute hedging strategies deploying different instruments according various  risk profiles, including energy hedges, gas hedges, options, Virtuals, Point-to-Point transactions, Firm Transmission Rights, Transmission Congestion Rights, Congestion Revenue Rights (FTR/TCR/CRRs), and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) financial power transactions
  • Build and deploy strategies for Day-Ahead offers for a large portfolio of wind and solar farms
  • Develop strategies and execute trades  with our Congestion Trading team to assess congestion risks in the respective Independent System Operators (ISOs)
  • Engage ENGIE’s external partners to advance new product business initiatives
  • Analyze and discuss the commercial terms of existing and upcoming Power Purchase Agreement (PPAs), identifying the underlying risks, and proposing alternative language and/or risk mitigation strategies
  • Analyze and price option strategies designed to reduce tail-end risk exposure to market volatility and inherent asset offtake structures
  • Monitor markets trends, regulatory landscape, current risk levels and exposures, and other relevant sources of impacts

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or any other related disciplines

He/She will report to the leader of market analysis for mid term power markets.

Role:

 

The Senior Expert Power Market Analyst will focus on the development of multi scenario fundamental power price forecast over 5 to 10 years. This project is of high importance for GEMS and Engie to improve asset & portfolio valuation, risk management and investment decision making.

He/she will work closely with the GMA Power Market Analysis teams and the Meteo Analysis team to coordinate the work and build on their expertise. He will also drive the collaboration with Engie Impact Advisory teams who contribute to the project. He/she will contribute to GMA internal fundamental modeling platform.

 

The senior expert analyst is accountable for the analysis performed by GMA teams for the asset and portfolio valuations. He/she is the point of contact with the NWE Power Cluster, Risk, AIFA and the new S&EM Portfolio entity.
