What You Can Expect

The Senior Data Scientist, Performance Analytics will be responsible for using statistical programs, developing internal analytical solutions, and using tools to conduct intensive analysis of project operations data.

 

Every day in this role the Senior Data Scientist will assist with maintaining data pipelines by collecting, cleaning, standardizing, and analyzing data from various internal and external sources.

 

  • Use effective communication skills to interpret data analysis results and articulate insights through clear written reports and persuasive oral presentations
  • Collaborate in the creation and ongoing enhancement of products that provide intuitive data visualizations and reports. These tools are designed to assist all users in comprehending complex concepts, discerning trends, and informing sound business judgments
  • Write ad hoc Python, SQL, scripts for development and analytics for the lost energy quantification
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of routines that enhance business efficiency and analytical methodologies
  • Utilize parallelized programming (Databricks etc.) for batch processing across large datasets
  • Improve and recommend data collection, cleaning, and quality control specifications and data sampling techniques
  • Apply missing data treatments as needed for reporting
  • Collaborate with other data scientists and analysts to develop and refine best practices for analytics teams

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Math, Physics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or similar field of quantitative study

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in the Renewable energy industry, such as trading, portfolio management, asset management, investment advisory, quantitative analytics, or risk analytics
  • Knowledge of Renewable and BESS asset revenue streams and their valuation
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++)
  • Familiarity with optimization models and linear optimization
  • Advanced Excel skills, working knowledge of VBA/SQL/Python
  • Previous experience building production level models for power markets
  • Demonstrated robust quantitative and analytical abilities, coupled with a meticulous approach to ensure precision and clarity in all tasks
  • Software/Database experience with SQL, Python, and Jupyter notebook
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

As our Health and Safety Advisor in Houston, TX, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health and Safety programs for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, partnering with other Business Entities and Operating Companies’ and Health and Safety (H&S) staff to influence an organizational culture that leads to an injury free working environment. Every day you will support safety excellence through engaging with plant staff and leadership, incident review, safety trend tracking, and providing training and guidance. What You’ll Bring

  • Associates Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or Business, certifications in OSHA Safety and Certified Safety Professional
  • A minimum seven (7) years’ Safety Management; with three (3) of those years’ experience in thermal power generation and energy distribution preferred
  • Subject matter expert in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910 / 1926
  • You have experience with root cause failure analysis (RCFA) tools and their application for recordable events. You are adept at leading serious incident investigations into High Potential (HiPo) incidents, including those resulting in a lost time accident
  • Experience with behavioral science and the psychology behind influencing change
  • Experience in commercial and industrial construction environments

What You Can Expect

ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Solar Site located in West Union, IL.  

 

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs.

 

  • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Thermal power plants
  • Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date

Every day in this role you will originate long-term PPAs with large C&I customers seeking to meet their renewable energy and sustainability goals to support the financing and construction of new renewable energy projects in ENGIE’s development pipeline.

 

  • PPA Negotiation: Lead negotiation of the terms and conditions in the renewable energy PPAs, term sheets, exclusivity, broker, and drive PPA transactions toward closure internally and externally
  • Build Customer Relationships: Actively manage and build relationships with existing and new customers in different C&I customer segments across North America. Seek opportunities and deal structures that enable bilateral transactions with the C&I customers while remaining abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and global industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to C&I customers
  • Proposal Preparation: Evaluate requests for proposals, lead bid preparation, prepare competitive analysis, and manage participation in competitive procurement processes. Match available projects in the development pipeline with customer needs and prepare proposal and presentation materials for customers during shortlist and negotiation process. Lead establishment of strategy, pricing, and different structures for available projects
  • Internal PPA Approvals: Prepare internal approval notes and review PPAs with internal stakeholders, collaborate and coordinate with ENGIE’s renewable project development, delivery team, and cross functional teams and business lines. Leading the internal support teams though all aspects of the complex sales process through to closing
  • Growth Strategy Support: Ensure customer preferences and feedback on energy products and attributes, project locations, and continuously evolving PPA terms are shared with development, finance, and management team for future growth path of renewables business for ENGIE in North America
  • Public Speaking: Represent ENGIE at national renewable energy events as speaker, panelist, and energy leader

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Finance, Economics, Science, Engineering or related field of study where you have learned contracts, negotiations, business administration, or similar based program
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the energy industry with three (3) years of experience in power origination
  • Record of success in a development or PPA capacity in the clean energy sector securing long term power sale agreements on renewable energy projects with large corporations and/or utilities
  • Proven ability to lead, structure, negotiate, coordinate, and execute PPAs together with internal and external advisors
  • Knowledge of the US electric energy markets and corporate demand for renewable energy
  • Working knowledge of Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) operations, electric transmission, power generation and/or renewable energy technologies
  • Flexibility, solid sales experience, networking, leadership, negotiation, and time management skills
  • Marketing and Presentation experience to create marketing, presentations and proposal materials to pitch renewable energy projects to customers
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Results oriented leader with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups

Electrical Engineer BESS Advisor

What You Can Expect

As our Electrical Engineer Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the utility scale operations group by acting as a technical leader, providing mentorship for junior engineers, ensuring the safe operation of the facilities, and collaborating across multiple disciples by participating in design reviews. In this position you will manage the electrical design of battery-based energy storage systems and thorough understanding of BESS architecture including rack, module, container and plant-level controls. You will be expected to prepare site acceptance test (SAT) and integration test plan for BESS systems. Technical review of documents provided by vendors. This position will be based out of the Houston, TX office and will be supporting assets in both US and Canada.

 

  • Provide mentorship for Junior Engineers in technical matters relating to the operation of BESS and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with various groups within the organization on technical matters and represent the Operations function in the various stages of the project design including review of drawings and studies.
  • Perform complex engineering/design calculations specific to discipline (equipment sizing, load flow, short circuit, Arc flash, grounding, etc.)
  • Interface with various system operators including ERCOT, PJM, SPP and MISO on technical issues including those related to operations planning and modelling.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures.
  • Review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with the applicable NERC standards.
  • Develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team to include misoperations, root cause analysis (Six-sigma, DMAIC, fish-bone), and safety-related events

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and utility experience
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ of experience of directly relevant engineering experience working on energy storage systems
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA networks and protocols such as MODBUS, DNP3, and any proprietary SCADA protocols.
  • Working knowledge of battery chemistries and their impact on overall BESS system design
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office
  • Must be available to travel domestically  up to 20% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record use of company vehicle, ability to drive to site locations
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

Project Engineer Senior (Civil/Electrical)

As the Project Engineer Senior, you will manage the Engineering activities related to design for utility-scale renewables projects (wind, solar, and energy storage) throughout the US and Canada and serve as a main point of contact.

 

Every day, you provide engineering technical input into projects at various stages (from feasibility/ preliminary to detailed design), coordinate Engineering design efforts with EPC or external consultants to review and comment on design submittals in coordination with support from ENGIE subject matter experts (Civil and Electrical) and manage and ensure all deliverables meet Project specifications. Additionally, you manage external engineering firms, subcontractors as well as various engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, structural, etc.) to achieve the highest level of engineering and design for project execution and actively identify all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project specifically the adequate application of and adherence to corporate health & safety and environmental requirements.

 

  • Review/monitor contractors’ progress and monitor the progress relating to key project milestones
  • Internal coordination with Development, Engineering, Permitting, GIS and Land group
  • Assist procurement in running RFPs and managing the process to sub-contractors
  • Remain up to date on new technologies and regulatory conditions including utility requirements, vendor qualifications, industry best practices, safety standards, and relevant standards development
  • Travel to perform site assessments, design review meetings and due diligence of development engineering throughout the USA and Canada in support of site evaluation and development and permitting activities

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering which you completed courses in civil engineering or electrical engineering or comparable technical knowledge through demonstrated work experience with a solid understanding of power generation plants.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar positions, managing renewable energy projects and producing standards, specifications, and documentation.
  • Experience and understanding of the owner’s engineer role
  • Experience and understanding of technical due diligence
  • Experience and understanding of commercial contracts and negotiations
