What You Can Expect

As the Wind and Solar Area Manager, for this the West Texas region you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of four (4) Wind generation and Solar project sites. Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising six (6) direct reports.  In your capacity as the head of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, budgets, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. You will also be responsible for managing and reporting on Profit and Loss responsibility for regional performance.

 

You manage all areas of responsibility in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, environmental requirements, company policies and procedures, the company’s annual operations plan, legal and contractual requirements, and good wind and solar industry practices. Additionally, you take all necessary actions to protect the facility’s operating permits, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

 

Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Reliability Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-sites.

 

  • You will need to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the solar sites
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Technical diploma/high school diploma and seven (7) years’ experience in a related industry where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills

  • Minimum of three (3) years previous experience in supervision of technical, operating or maintenance personnel
  • In-depth knowledge of wind, solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) power generating equipment and technologies
  • Working knowledge of solar power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • You should be able to effectively lead and manage multiple teams, as well as communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face

Compensation

Salary Range: $1121,980 – $196,765 USD annually

ENGIE North America is hiring a Battery Storage Technician for our Chillingham Solar / Storage project located near Temple, TX.  

 

Your daily responsibilities begin with performing High Voltage (HV) switching, substation, and HV equipment lockouts and grounding tasks. Demonstrate the consistent use of Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques when solving plant abnormalities and equipment failures. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. Perform routine inspections such as, prepare oil analysis samples, safely using tools (e.g hot sticks, multimeter, and IR Camera). Assist with equipment operation training for contractors and other site employees. Manage and coordinate work on-site between different contractors, vendors and BESS service providers ensuring quality work, is completed safely and promptly.

 

  • Actively participate in the behavior-based safety program and ensure every team member and contractor complies with all safety procedures and applicable task-oriented job safety analyses
  • Ensure site safety rules are communicated and adhered to through Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Meetings
  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by utilizing established procedures
  • Ensure site equipment is kept at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures
  • Perform the housekeeping functions and equipment cleaning necessary to maintain the site in a clean and neat condition
  • Recommend operating and/or maintenance changes that will enhance plant performance and availability

 

 

What You’ll Bring

What You Can Expect

As Groundskeeper will report to the site daily and work as the main point of contact in keeping and maintaining the vegetation, such as but not limited to weed eating, using a medium size agriculture tracker, and using a box blade for road repair.  You will also oversee the regular scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting for the equipment and vehicles on site.  You will receive and report status updates on assignments and projects from the scheduling software on a computer terminal in the office.   • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.

As the ROCC Operator I located in Houston, TX, you will be working under the supervision of the ROCC Supervisor and in collaboration with Engineering, IT and Operations stakeholders, to monitor and coordinate the Real Time operation of ENGIE’s 4.5 GW of renewable fleet of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage assets across North America from the 24/7/365 Renewable Operations Control Center to ensure stable and reliable operation of generation facilities.

 

Every shift, you will complete daily monitoring duties, to include maintenance of a thorough operations log and completion of shift checklists, track progress using CROW software, and work through a customized orientation packet designed for onboarding ROCC operators at ENGIE.

 

  • Ensure the reliable operation of ENGIE renewable assets, to include maintaining continual communication with on-site personnel and Asset Managers 
  • Implement and coordinate ENGIE asset outages as needed to support preventive and corrective maintenance
  • During abnormal system operating conditions or when sites have individual problems, evaluate the situation, direct and coordinate the solution in collaboration with on-site personnel and ROCC supervision

 

 

 What You’ll Bring

  • You have an associate’s degree in engineering or a relevant trade qualification (e.g. power system technician, protection, and control technologist 
  • You are able to obtain a PJM Generation Dispatcher certification within 12 months of start date
  • You are eager to gain knowledge in wind and solar generation
  • You are familiar with power system equipment and technology
  • You are willing to gain knowledge on NERC Standards, both O&P and CIP, as they apply to Real Time operations and a medium-impact control center environment
  • You can identify and respond to plant and Bulk Electric System (BES) condition by modifying plant control setpoints for active and reactive power, isolating faulted power system elements and restoring forced outages
  • You can communicate and coordinate with other BES entities 
  • Transmission Operators, Independent System Operators, and Reliability Coordinators
  • You can execute switch orders prepared by Engineering and issuing work clearances to field maintenance crews
  • You can dispatch field maintenance crews to investigate abnormal conditions, and log actions, communications, and abnormal conditions for future review

The Project Developer supports a broad range of pre-construction development activities on projects within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States and Canada.   • Manage all aspects of environmental site assessment, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities in close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SME)

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration, Finance, Energy, Economics, or other related field of study in which you have project development, permitting/planning, project management, or business development experience

MISION

FUNCIONES:

 

ENGINEERING

  • Estructurar los proyectos renovables desde el punto de vista técnico,  económico y organizacional, de cara a su presentación ante comités de inversión y dar soporte a BD en llevar los mismos a situación de Ready to Build.
  • Asesorar técnicamente a Desarrollo de Negocio, Execution y O&M en los diferentes procesos en que se involucren a lo largo del ciclo de vida del proyecto.
  • Actuar de interlocutor ante la Industrial Platfrom en nombre de Desarrollo y Execution.
  • Realizar los estudios técnicos necesarios para la obtención de los permisos y licencias demandadas por los proyectos en su fase de desarrollo
  • Desarrollar los diseños y soluciones técnicas que permitan la viabilidad técnico - económica de los proyectos .
  • Desarrollar las especificaciones técnicas y pliegos necesarios para los procesos de licitación y adjudicación de Procurement
  • Actuar como asesor técnico de Execution frente a ingenierías externas.
  • Dirigir los equipos de Ingeniería, Planificación e Infraestructuras eléctricas para la correcta transición de los proyectos a situación de “Ready to Build” en plazo, coste, calidad y seguridad.

 

H&S

  • Asesorar en materia de H&S a Desarrollo de Negocio, Execution y O&M en los diferentes procesos en que se involucren a lo largo del ciclo de vida del proyecto.
  • Velar por el cumplimiento de las políticas de H&S de Engie en todos los activos tanto en fase deconstrucción como en fase de explotación
  • Detectar las necesidades formativas en el ámbito de H&S y diseñar los planes correspondientes para que esta necesidades sean cubiertas.
  • Realizar seguimiento de la accidentabilidad y llevar a cabo las investigaciones correspondientes al objeto de definir causas y acciones correctoras.

  • Como miembro del COMEX de Renovables Spain, proponer y colaborar activamente en la definición de objetivos y toma de decisiones de la GBU así como informar del progreso y estado de los mismos.

Your engineering expertise is crucial in preparing and reviewing reports, maintenance, and monitoring plans, and analyzing data to ensure environmental goals and objectives are adequately addressed. You provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable projects. Additionally, you assist site managers and construction engineers by ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, regulations, licenses, and plans. You lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures. You review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable NERC standards. You develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team, including misoperations, root cause analysis (Six-sigma, DMAIC, fish-bone), and safety-related events. Your knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI, is extensive.   • Analyze, assess, and report on Project Development/Construction CapEx and Operations/Maintenance OpEx spend data to ensure quality and accuracy. Independently execute forensic accounting tasks to identify outliers and work directly with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to rectify errors.   • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to diagnose and solve problems within limited time lines
  • Work constructively while maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experienced user of SAP and Coupa to export, analyze, filter and present pertinent information that will guide decision making
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel, (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc)
  • Ability to be trained and be efficient at data capture and analysis exercises using internal dashboards and various enterprise systems (e.g., Green IT, SAP, SAC, Coupa, Procore, Microsoft Project)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences
  • Results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups
  • Desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 – $114,195 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
