What You Can Expect

As the Project Controls Advisor you will work within the Finance and Project Controls team within the Flexible Generation Business Unit. You will interface and work collaboratively on cross-functional internal and external project teams and corporate support functions to provide cost control services throughout the entire duration of the project life cycle. Every day you will be primarily responsible for cost estimating, cost tracking and control, risk analysis, and reporting for the assigned projects. This position will also be required to interface with various corporate support functions and be proficient in the use of various enterprise systems used by ENGIE.

 

Every day in this role you will lead project control processes for Flexible Generation development, construction and operational projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for budget and control development expenditures and capital expenditures for the complete pipeline of projects.

 

 

  • Ensure correct budget representation in finance and projects controls systems and smooth budget handover to subsequent owners through the projects’ lifecycle
  • Be the responsible within Flexible Generation for finance processes through the preparation of consolidated budgets for investment approvals, annual budget and business plan, and financing processes (tax financings, sell-down and partnerships)
  • Prepare monthly cash flow reports for the complete portfolio of projects, comparing approved budgets and up-to-date best estimates incl. monthly distribution
  • Facilitate financial optimization through DEVEX capitalization upon projects viability, time-writing, implement robust WBS process
  • Support Project Managers and Project Management Office budget management, in tracking progress against the project baseline budget at all time
  • Identify, monitor and actively control risks to project budgets
  • Assist with vendor requirements, invoice approvals, purchase orders, change events, and contingency management, facilitate systems and data integration, processes automatization
  • Keep robust and standardized tools, clean and tidy record keeping easily transferable to any internal and external stakeholder

 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Project or Construction Management, or in related field, or bachelor’s degree equivalency with practical experience and knowledge of relevant technical systems
  • A minimum 7 years in projects, cost controls or any financial and controlling role
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to create customized cost estimating and analysis tools using data import, sorting, and filtering, pivot tables, graphs/charts, and custom formulas
  • Sense of accountability and proactivity in anticipating and addressing potential issues, in close collaboration with the managerial line
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to forecast, pursue and investigate project cost over/underruns and delays
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to diagnosis and solve problems within limited time frames
  • Direct experience using enterprise resource planning systems/tools (SAP, COUPA or other ERP systems) associated with procurement, payment and accounting

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and timeline requirements.

What You Can Expect

As the Ecological Restoration / Vegetation Management Advisor based in Houston, TX, you will ensure that ecological restoration and vegetation management strategies are developed, implemented and effectively maintained across all ENGIE Renewables sites.  You will work closely with the development and delivery teams to identify and implement vegetation management strategies for new projects.  You will be responsible for ensuring site preparation and seeding during the delivery phase and managing the operational phase, including coordinating contractors for mowing, grazing, or other methods. This role requires collaboration across teams to support the success of vegetation management throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Reporting to the VP, Field Operations, your primary duties will encompass:

 

  • Keeping up to date with innovation and industry best practices and acting as subject matter expert in relation to ecological restoration, vegetation management, agrivoltaics (such as sheep grazing), pollinator habitat and other related activities.
  • Ensuring sites remain compliant with regulatory requirements, planning consents and land lease obligations along with any other such requirements. Including the tracking and closure of consent and licensing conditions
  • Conducting ecological restoration related fieldwork, including assessment of site conditions, noxious weed mapping, storm water pollution prevention planning, auditing of restoration works and restoration monitoring to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards
  • Working closing with teams across development, construction and operations and maintenance to develop ecologically minded site restoration strategies / specifications, including seed mixes, biodiversity enhancements, monitoring protocols, and vegetation maintenance plans for use during a project’s planning, construction, and operations phases
  • Drafting technical memos and reports, along with other project support materials as needed
  • Identification and assessment of suitably qualified and experienced vegetation management contractors, drafting of scopes along with the tendering, letting and day to day management of contracts
  • Communicating effectively regarding the scope and schedule of restoration and vegetation management activities to be performed, onsite along with ongoing monitoring and maintenance required by site teams
  • Assessment and approval of weed abatement treatments for use on site including pesticides and herbicides.
  • Completes other duties as assigned

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in restoration ecology, natural resource management, environmental science, conservation biology, or a closely related discipline; In lieu of the educational requirement, we will accept a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant industry experience in vegetation management & ecology restoration

The Project Manager (PM) Senior – Advisor is responsible for providing overall management of the design, construction, commissioning, and execution of multiple utility scale renewable projects throughout the US.  The PM Sr. Advisor will be renewable technology agnostic and responsible for managing execution of multiple engineering, construction, and/or procurement contracts.  The PM Sr. Advisor will work with our internal and external teams, and subcontractors, to oversee the design of the project and will work with our on-site Construction Monitoring team to manage and monitor the work.  THE PM Senior Advisor provides training and mentoring for assigned team members and others in the Delivery group, as well as the on-site Construction Management Team. Additionally, this role will build, foster, and maintain a collaborative working environment within the Project Team.

 

  • Utilize experience, knowledge, and leadership skills to expertly guide execution of assigned renewable projects to successfully meet or exceed expectations
  • Manage the Project Team including the Contractors, the Owner-Engineer, the on-site Construction Monitoring Team and other Project administration staff.  The on-site team may include a staff of up to 10 persons including site management, safety, logistics, and quality control
  • Conduct Weekly Meetings including Design Reviews, Coordination with the local Utility (RTO’s) and ERCOT (ISO’s), and Site Coordination
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for Progress, Safety and Quality
  • Manage Construction and Procurement Contracts, Invoices, Change Order Requests, Submittals, RFI’s. and prepare Cost Forecast Reports

  • Collaboration: Work closely with land and business development teams, interconnection experts, and environmental permitting specialists to site Greenfield projects and support wind, solar, and storage project development
  • Project Origination: Drive origination activities from feasibility to land acquisition, including environmental site assessments, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities
  • Consultant Engagement: Engage consultants, review their findings, and ensure implementation
  • Research and Development: Stay updated on industry developments, tax incentives, and new technologies.
  • Permitting and Hearings: Manage permit application preparation, attend public permitting hearings, and handle agency and AHJ submittals and interactions
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with landowners and stakeholders, attend community engagement events, and maintain project progress databases

What You’ll Bring

  • Manage commercial aspects of all project related contract negotiations
  • Support pre-construction activity including site studies, surveys, preliminary engineering, and estimating
  • Support internal project capital expenditure approval processes to secure budget for Project Delivery scope
  • Coordinate and support internal stakeholders including development, engineering, interconnection, and power marketing teams with Capex input requests

The Director of Development will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across California with an emphasis on locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles Basin. In this role you will be leading development efforts on portions of the Company’s ~9 GW existing positions, greenfield development, and project acquisition. Efficiently communicate complex development situations, and work through development issues from the start of development through construction. Every day in this role you will be responsible for managing and supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/Engineering, Procurement, Construction “EPC”, financing, and other matters critical to the development of energy storage projects throughout California.

 

  • Manage/analyze information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants and vendors
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups
  • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in California, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant work experience and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in energy storage or renewable energy development, with experience in project management, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, California Environmental Quality Act “CEQA”, planning, real estate, and other matters critical to development in California
  • Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects in California
  • Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements
  • Ability to manage a large workload across a large portfolio, while prioritizing tasks and effectively managing competing deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of the CAISO market with particular focus on interconnection, regulatory and offtake matters
