Your function

As a Structural Project Manager specializing in civil structures, you will oversee and drive projects focused on bridges, tunnels, and other major civil engineering works. You will play a pivotal role in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project lifecycles, and ensuring technical excellence.

 

  • Project Leadership: You will lead, motivate, and manage a project team comprising structural engineers, geotechnical experts, and draftsmen. You will work closely with other teams to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Design Oversight: You will be responsible for the structural design of civil works (concrete, steel, timber, etc.), from conceptual design through to execution, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels, and complex civil structures.

  • Project Management: Ensure that all aspects of your projects—budget, scope, timing, and quality—are delivered to the highest standards. You will monitor and report on progress, ensuring compliance with our quality system and health & safety regulations.

  • Client Engagement: You will respond to client needs with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. You will prepare and present proposals, offers, and contracts in collaboration with the commercial team.

  • Integrated Approach: Enhance an integrated design process by coordinating across different disciplines, ensuring holistic solutions.

  • Mentorship: Actively contribute to the development and training of young engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work constructively with external partners such as architects, engineering consultancies, subcontractors, and contractors during the construction phase to deliver sustainable and efficient solutions.

  • Innovation & Standards: Stay abreast of the latest standards, guidelines, and developments in civil engineering, sharing knowledge and best practices with your team.

Your profile

 

  • You hold a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in projects related to complex infrastructures (bridges, tunnels, roads, airports, etc.).
  • You have a proven track record of involvement in all project phases: design, studies, tender, execution, and management.
  • You are experienced in competitive bidding, including conceptual design, cost estimation, and fee negotiation.
  • You excel in managing multidisciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders under time and budget constraints.
  • You possess strong communication skills and are a collaborative team player.
  • You are client-oriented, solution-driven, and adaptable.
  • You are fluent in Dutch or French and have a professional command of English.
  • You are prepared to work with teams in our different regional offices (Ghent, Brussels and Hasselt) and cooperate with our office in Romania.

Work environment 

Tu travailleras en tant que jeune ingénieur, depuis notre bureau de Bruxelles et/ ou Namur, au sein de notre département « Infrastructure des transports », le département de Tractebel qui conçoit/élabore principalement des projets liés aux routes, tramways/ (pré)-métros, aéroports, tunnels et ponts. 
Outre la conception des routes, la conception des systèmes du traitement des eaux usées est un deuxième volet important, qui tient compte du changement climatique et de l'utilisation durable de l'eau de pluie.

Mission 

  • Tu travailleras sur des projets d'infrastructure quant à la conception géométrique et structurelle d'autoroutes, de routes régionales et de routes en milieu urbain.
  • Tu tiendras compte, dans tes projets, de tous les aspects des études d'infrastructure tels que la conception spatiale, la mobilité, la sécurité et la durabilité.

Votre mission

 

En tant qu’ingénieur·e en infrastructure (voiries, tramways, pistes aéroportuaires) au sein de notre département Infrastructure, vous jouerez un rôle clé dans la conception de projets d’aménagement géométrique et structurel. Vous travaillerez sur des infrastructures variées, notamment les autoroutes, routes régionales, tramways, pistes aéroportuaires, tunnels et ponts. 
Un autre volet important de votre mission pourra se porter sur la conception des systèmes de traitement des eaux usées, en prenant en compte le changement climatique et l'utilisation durable de l'eau de pluie.


Vos principales responsabilités

The Mechanical Metier Department (MM) of the Nuclear Entity is in charge of the following tasks:

  • Procurement of mechanical equipment, nuclear fuel and associated services
  • Quality surveillance, supplier & repair qualification
  • In-service inspection and plant/material ageing management
  • Fuel quality control and handling
  • Site mechanical equipment modifications and site works follow-up  
  • Diversified expertise in mechanical equipment design, manufacturing & operation

Within this department, the Nuclear Fuel & Casks team cover those activities in the framework of nuclear fuel procurement and spent fuel &radwaste management for Electrabel and Synatom Customers.

Mission 

In the framework of the current major projects related to Fuel Supply, Spent Nuclear Fuel Management, Emptying of Deactivation Pools and Decommissioning [new spent fuel storage buildings, spent fuel & radioactive waste transport/storage casks, fuel repair, damaged fuel conditioning, fuel accessories management, etc.], you will be in charge of the following activities in close relation with the Project Managers and the Customers:

  • Drafting of requests for quotation, bid evaluation and Customer support for negotiation; 
  • Contract follow-up from the kick-off meeting to site delivery and acceptance tests;
  • Equipment Manufacturing follow-up in close cooperation with the Quality Surveillance group and with the Customer;
  • Supervision of interventions in nuclear power units;
  • Assisting and technical expertise in support of Customers and Plant Operators; 
  • Interfacing between Utilities and Contractors;
  • Assisting the plant operator and the Customer in meeting and technical discussions with the Belgian Safety Authorities;
  • Organizing of and participating into reviewing activities of safety files for spent fuel and radioactive waste casks and damaged spent fuel treatment;
  • Participating in international tenders in the framework of the Mechanical Department nuclear activities.
 

Profile 

  • Engineering degree, preferably in mechanics or electro-mechanics - nuclear engineering degree or similar education path is a strong advantage;
  • +5 years experience with at least 2 years working experience in the nuclear sector;
  • Interest in design, manufacturing and site operation activities;
  • Interest in multi-skills problem and technical curiosity;
  • French or Dutch speaking with a very good command of English;

Jouw belangrijkste uitdaging als Senior Buyer (Kerncentrale Doel)

Als Senior Buyer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het vaststellen van business behoeften en het identificeren van opportuniteiten. Je werkt intensief samen met de business en de collega's van het aankoopdepartement, op een efficiënte manier en volledig in overeenstemming met onze  procurement governance.

 

In deze functie speel je een belangrijke rol als stakeholder in het project en streef je ernaar om, rekening houdend met onze bedrijfsbehoeften, de beste waarde te capteren uit de leveranciersmarkt en die te contracteren.

 

Je opereert in een snel evoluerende en veeleisende omgeving, waarbij de aankoopafdeling van ENGIE een cruciale rol speelt door toegevoegde waarde te leveren zowel op financieel als op operationeel vlak, inclusief het beheer van leveranciersrelaties, het beheer van de toeleveringsketen en het risicobeheer.

 

Je plaats van tewerkstelling is hoofdzakelijk Kerncentrale Doel.

 

Jouw dagelijkse werkzaamheden:

  • Je definieert, stelt voor en/of implementeert aankoopstrategieën en actieplannen in samenwerking met de relevante stakeholders voor een capex- of opexproject, of voor een bepaalde aankoopcategorie.
  • Je leidt en coördineert een multifunctioneel team van stakeholders dat het aankoopproject zal uitvoeren.
  • Je bereidt het aanbestedingsproces voor en leidt deze (waaronder potentiële leveranciers identificeren en evalueren, offertes evalueren, de onderhandelingsstrategie bepalen en de contractuele en commerciële onderhandelingen leiden).
  • Je bereidt de nota’s aangaande de aankoopstrategie en aangaande de gunning voor en presenteert deze aan het relevante goedkeuringscomité.
  • Je stelt de desbetreffende raamovereenkomsten of bestellingen op en communiceert met alle relevante belanghebbenden.
  • Je beheert de raamovereenkomsten en volgt de leveranciers en de business op om volledige naleving te garanderen.
  • Je organiseert en neemt deel aan leveranciersevaluaties en definieert actieplannen voor de leveranciers.
  • Je bent bereid om de beste (industriële en aankoop) praktijken te implementeren met specifieke aandacht voor de ENGIE richtlijnen inzake HSE en CSR.

 

De ideale match

  • Je hebt een masterdiploma, bij voorkeur in een technisch domein of gelijkwaardig door ervaring.

  • Je hebt meerdere jaren ervaring in EPC en muti-EPC project procurement en category procurement.

Radioactive Waste Management projects ensure the efficient transfer of already produced and future waste to ONDRAF/NIRAS, in line with the decommissioning waste strategy.

What exactly does your job consist of?

As Radioactive Waste Project Manager you will take on the above projects in close cooperation with the Decommissioning team, internal stakeholders and external stakeholders. 
And this under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager, the Operational Fleet Waste Manager or the person in charge of the Waste Department.
You will be responsible for the execution of the assigned project scope according to the defined and approved timing and budgets, reporting on progress to your hierarchy and applicable project committees.

ENGIE Electrabel works together with ONDRAF/NIRAS and the FANC on the technical processes and modalities to achieve efficient transfer of the radioactive waste (RaW: Radioactive Waste) produced and to be produced. 
This includes both the operational waste from operation and the waste from decommissioning of the nuclear power plants.
 These activities are managed on the ENGIE Electrabel side in the Fleet department under the direction of the CDO (Chief Decommisoning Officer) which covers both the "relations" with ONDRAF/NIRAS (NDRaW department = Nuclear Decommisiong and Rad Waste) and the technical decommissioning project (D&D program) itself.

 

The NDRaW department is responsible for the contractual, technical and financial management of all radioactive waste flows resulting from ENGIE Electrabel's operations, cessation and dismantling activities. This management fits within the legal and regulatory framework with the highest priority for nuclear safety and with great attention to efficiency.
ONDRAF/NIRAS' surface disposal project for cat A waste is in the final stages of obtaining its nuclear operating license. This entails increasing coordination and consultation to define the technical and financial modalities for collection, transfer, temporary storage and final disposal of the RaW from ENGIE Electrabel.
 For ENGIE Electrabel as the largest Belgian RaW producer, this is a crucial issue.

Your mission 

  • You will be a player throughout the execution of our marine and civil infrastructure projects;

  • You will take the lead in the design and calculation of steel structures from concept study to execution;

  • You dimension steel structures following current Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines;

  • You are creative in looking for structural solutions to specific problems, taking into account design and budget;

  • You will be part of a multidisciplinary project team of engineers and draftsmen for projects with a strong focus on projects in marine and civil infrastructure;

  • You will prepare designs (preliminary, basis, tender, detailed) for marine and infrastructure projects such as:  lock doors, jetties, gate valves, barrages, flood protection structures, bridges, etc.;  

  • You take on a role as a design engineer of the project and coordinate with and coach our junior engineers and CAD designers;

  • You follow up and verify the drafting work with the CAD designers;

  • You develop your technical skills (SCIA Engineer, Ansys, …);

  • You ensure knowledge development and sharing related to your expertise and coach junior engineers;

  • You keep up with standards, new techniques and developments in your discipline;

 

 

Your profile 

  • You are a qualified Master of Science in Structural Engineering with a Major in ‘Construction Design’ or ‘Dredging and Off-Shore Engineering’ or ‘Marine Engineering’

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant technical experience in the design and engineering of steel structures and infrastructure projects such as bridges, port infrastructure, lock doors, barrages, sheet piles, anchors, jetties, or large civil infrastructure works, including calculation on structures;

  • You have experience in designing steel elements in complex 3D structures

  • You have an understanding of the applicable construction techniques and are eager to keep your knowledge in line with current methods.

  • You have extensive knowledge of current Belgian and European Design Standards, legislation, codes of practice (ISO, EC, NEN, EAU, SB250, SB260…) 

 

Software knowledge

  • You possess expertise in modelling with SCIA Engineer or equivalent software. 

  • You have proficient knowledge of standard computer programs including spreadsheets and word processing. 

 

Languages

Your mission 

As Risk & safety management expert, you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in promoting and managing activities in the domains 
of risk & safety during the full life cycle of assets for the industrial sectors in which Tractebel is active. You will work as safety expert on several projects in the domain of 
energy, gas and infrastructure.


Your key responsibilities

You will:

  • Define risk & safety management solutions in line with customer expectations, market and sector needs to maximize the added value of TRACTEBEL’s offers. Define the technical scope and associated resources for risk & safety management solutions.

  • Coach the technical and site teams in the area of risk and safety & junior safety experts.

  • Supervise running projects to guarantee quality of the deliverables.

  • Contribute actively in the short & mid–term development of our activities by identifying new opportunities.

  • Perform risk & safety management missions requiring a high level of skills, experience and competence. This may include

    • Lead participative risk assessments (PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, etc.).

    • Perform safety audits as lead auditor.

    • Perform detailed risk assessments such as QRA, PLANOP, SIL allocations, ATEX etc.

    • Define risk and safety management strategies related to a complex industrial project environment.

    • Access and advice on process and occupational safety during system and equipment specification and procurement.

  • You have a Master’s degree in engineering, preferably with an additional master’s degree in safety management/engineering.

  • At least 5 years of experience in risk and safety management for industrial projects.

  • Experience in the domains of:
