The opportunity:
The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage ENGIE’s highly diversified energy portfolio and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas.
You will be joining the finance team of GEMS ANZ in a role reporting to the CFO GEMS ANZ . GEMS is a growing business unit establishing strong commercial relationships in the Australian energy market and part of a global business unit.
Our Finance Business Partner – C&I position is primarily responsible for partnering with the C&I business.
- Act as the Finance Business Partner and advisor to the C&I department within GEMS ANZ
- Support C&I in achieving its financial objectives by providing the analysis, insight and challenge into its decisions
- With a strong focus on future performance, provide financial forecasts and budgets on behalf of the GBU
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development of partnering relationship with the C & I management team and with stakeholders through out GEMS
- Turning data into actionable insights and delivery of high quality advice to support business performance in line with projected growth, forecast and financial metrics
- Annual budgeting and forecasting lead, as well as medium term plans
- Validate PL and Risks of the assets books
- Lead monthly forecasting process, results review and any corrective action plans to KPI’s
- Together with the accounting team, accountability for month end, data integrity and compliance
About you:
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- CA or CPA qualified
- Multiple years experience in a similar role with energy industry (C & I) knowledge advantageous
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to translate and present financials for diverse audiences
- Experience in a matrixed organisation which involves complex stakeholder management
- Knowledge of IFRS and AASB
- Demonstrated knowledge of budget and planning processes
