Our BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) team is expanding, and we’re on the lookout for a dynamic BESS Electrical Project Engineer (M/F/X) to join us!

YOUR MISSION as an Electrical Project Engineer (M/F/X):

As a BESS Electrical Project Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of the energy transition, working on exciting projects that make a real impact. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Project Electrical Lead: be involved during the engineering and construction phase of the BESS projects, this for all electrical subject matter expertise topics
  • Project Commissioning: Dive into the technical aspects of large-scale battery projects in Europe, supporting the project team, especially throughout the commissioning phase.
  • Maintenance Management: Play a crucial role in setting up maintenance management for BESS facilities, including LTSA - and spare part management. Set up requirements for documentation; reporting and monitoring.
  • Expertise Development: Enhance your skills in BESS technology with a focus on high/medium voltage; electrical protection and power conversion systems.  With the ambition to support various sites; steer BESS performance and lead improvement projects.
  • Problem Solving: Conduct root-cause analyses and implement solutions for any issues during projects, operations and maintenance.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with diverse internal and external stakeholders and continuously grow your knowledge through internal processes and networking events. Contribute actively to the Community of Practice.

 

YOUR PROFILE as Electrical Project Engineer (M/F/X):

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the energy transition and meets the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: Master’s Degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering in Electricity/Power Systems/Energy/Mathematics/Physics.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in Dutch and English
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a desire to become a reference in the electrical field within and outside ENGIE.
  • Team Player: Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills to work with both technicians and engineers.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with high voltage equipment like transformers, cables, and switchgear to ensure safety, efficiency, and maintainability.

  • permanent contract (38h.) with a competitive salary package consisting of:
    • A monthly salary according to your technical knowledge and experience. Annual salary increase in January according to scales of the energy sector.

    • Company car + fuel card for both Belgium and neighboring countries or mobility budget. 20 legal holidays + 13 ADV days + 1 extra day.

WORKPLACE

 

EMS Headquarter in Belgium is in Linkebeek but projects/longer missions can be in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Germany, UK

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

 

  • Short contact by phone between you and our recruiter Nancy (motivation, understanding of the position and expectations).
  • First interview with Nancy and n+1: Marc  Eyckmans, the manager of this team. (Extensive introduction, testing soft and hard skills and completing online personality assessment and abstract reasoning skills).
  • When positive, an external assessment center (via Hudson) will be organized.
  • When selected, final interview will be organized with Bert Hofman.
