What You Can Expect
As the Full Stack Developer, Senior Advisor based in Houston, Texas for ENGIE’s Supply and Energy Management (S&EM), you will be a key contributor working with multiple groups to develop enterprise cloud solutions in the energy storage and optimization space. The cloud solution will provide trading, hedging, asset management, PnL, dashboarding and visualization, reporting, settlements and other services. The Full Stack Developer, Senior Advisor will be instrumental in enabling efficient processes and designs for a high performing cloud application and contributing in the technical direction.
Reporting to the IT Director for ENGIE’s Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA), your roles and responsibilities include:
- Track the changing technology landscape within ENGIE’s environment
- Technical contributor that drives direction from assessment to delivery focused on energy storage solutions and optimizations
- Key member in building foundations for efficient development processes
- Identifying, planning and coordinating required technical tasks and executed with collaboration with internal and external resources and the support of the vendor where applicable
- Collaborate with other global IT resources to meet cross-functional goals
- Continual performance assessment and monitoring of processes and applications and identify deficiencies and work towards resolutions
- Institute thorough automation, integration, UI, dashboards and reporting to minimize business impact and support
- Coordinate in business continuity exercises and testing of backup systems
- Provide primary and backup system operations and maintenance functions
- Provide training with other team members and business users where applicable
- Create and maintain effective documentation of processes, architectures, procedures and training guides
- Effectively communicate with users, peers and executive management
- Conduct compliance processes such as user access management, auditing, code versioning and development standards
- Coordinate with other application teams for data integration, such as ETRM systems, SCADA, data warehouses and analytical Data Lakes
- Acts as a team member with all employees of ENGIE staff, providing critical support during non-business hours on a scheduled basis
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or related field; or a minimum of fourteen (14) years of development experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting the needs of an energy trading business
- Eagerness to learn and adopt and leverage evolving technology stacks
- Understanding of Microsoft and Linux operating systems
- Intermediate knowledge of infrastructure, networking and security
- Experience using Azure cloud technologies, AWS will be considered
- Experience in ISO market knowledge, primarily with ERCOT and CAISO
- Experience building complex user interfaces using Angular
- Heavy experience designing databases in SQL Server, Postgres SQL and other cloud storage solutions
- Experience using Azure Kubernetes and developing custom APIs
- Programming languages such as C#/.NET and Python
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; consisting of three (3) days in-office and two (2) days remote
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $150,600 – $230,920 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
