The opportunity:

 

Would you like to contribute to the delivery of the ENGIE Battery and Energy Storage (BESS) strategy in Australia?

 

The applicant will join the project delivery team to manage the delivery of energy generation assets from the lead-up to financial close, to the commencement of commercial operations.

 

The role will be accountable to the Head of Project Delivery and the role can be worked flexibly between home and our modern Southbank office.  Travel to project sites will be necessary as required.

 

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in delivering construction of energy generation or storage projects in Australia on time and within budget. You will be collaborative and possess a can-do mindset.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the execution of new power generation and storage projects
  • Ensure high level governance and delivery of project milestones focusing on health and safety and quality standards
  • Manage major contracts, project schedules, budgets and stakeholder engagement
  • Utilise project management methodologies to achieve intended outcomes
  • Actively identify and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies and constraints and tackle them head-on
  • Build, motivate and lead a project team to achieve outstanding results
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies and government bodies.

 

 About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery (construction) in renewable energy projects, and ideally BESS
  • Mature understanding and practical experience in principles of project management as they relate to engineering and construction
  • Ability to manage a diverse set of operational and corporate stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Passion for renewable energy and wishing to invest yourself long term in a company that is leading the energy transition globally
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or related field is desirable but not mandatory

The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage ENGIE’s highly diversified energy portfolio and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas.

 

You will be joining the leadership team of GEMS ANZ in a role reporting to the Head of GEMS ANZ

 

The position leads the GEMS Assets Representation and Portfolio Optimisation team & the core purpose of your team is to:

  • ensure a complete and consistent representation of the ENGIE ANZ upstream (thermal, renewables, BESS assets) and downstream (Retail and C&I clients) portfolio
  • propose hedging strategies in line with each BU risk appetite which maximise value for the BUs and systematically seek portfolio synergies ; this covers a three to five years horizon (liquid window)
  • Advise and lead the execution of the hedging strategies, monitor the performance of these strategies, as well as the financial performance of each book and the whole of the portfolio

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Define a roadmap for the target representation and hedging strategies of the risks across ENGIE’s portfolio, allowing to fully implement ENGIE’s integrated model in Australia
  • Build and develop an effective team of highly skilled and enthusiastic Portfolio Optimisers
  • Ensure that the upstream and downstream assets expected revenue, production/consumption, and associated risks are modelled appropriately and consistently; drive the Analytics team to improve the models and the IT teams to industrialise.
  • Validate PL and Risks of the assets books
  • Work with the Origination and Trading teams within GEMS to develop hedging strategies, in order to maximise the revenues of the GBUs in line with their risk appetite. These strategies need to seek portfolio synergies ; they are submitted to the GBUs for approval
  • Work with C&I Supply and Trading teams to optimise hedging and pricing strategies for the C&I customer portfolio 

 

About you:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in leadership
  • High level of quantitative analysis and financial engineering skills
  • A high-degree of numerical and computer literacy are essential including expertise in forecasting tool development, linear optimisation and Monte-Carlo simulation techniques
  • Experience in Asset Risk Representation, Hedging or Trading
  • Experience in a matrixed organisation which involves complex stakeholder management

The opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead the charge in managing the entire lifecycle of development, from origination to financial close. The successful applicant will join the existing Renewables Development team, and will report to the Head of Development. 

 

The role will provide you with exposure to various renewable technologies including solar, wind as well as battery storage, within a collaborative and respectful team environment.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Being accountable for  asset development activities including project concept, planning development, environmental assessments, permitting, connection and commercialisation
  • Support development stages from project identification and origination to construction and initial operations to ensure regulatory and planning compliance and also provide support for project acquisitions
  • Managing internal and external resources (including consultants) to support development
  • Negotiating and securing land tenure agreements and management of landowner and stakeholder relationships
  • Leading planning processes to secure necessary statutory project approvals
  • Managing procurement processes in collaboration with ENGIE’s general procurement departments and managers
  • Ownership of the project Assumptions Book that describes the project parameters as they input into the Project Financial Model

 

 About you:

The successful incumbent will have solid experience in the development of renewable power generation assets, including Wind, Solar and BESS assets.  You will have sound influencing and effective communication skills and can balance multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes.  You have gained excellent project management skills, preferably in a matrix management environment and can steer change and work within a changing environment.  

 

This role and the development projects will have functional support through Engie’s multi-disciplinary engineering team, commercial & procurement team, legal team, corporate affairs, as well as a strong community & stakeholder team.

The opportunity:

As an integral member of the Acquisitions, Investments & Financial Advisory (AIFA) team, the Senior Financial Advisor will collaborate with the team to evaluate a diverse range of investment opportunities for ENGIE ANZ. This role will involve leading the valuation and risk analysis of new investment, as well as structuring and executing M&A and project financing transactions across significant energy projects and strategic initiatives undertaken by ENGIE ANZ.

 

The Senior Financial Advisor, will report to the Head of AIFA ANZ, and will leverage your well developed skills in project financing, financial and commercial due diligence on deals, financial modelling, and the negotiation and execution of financing arrangements for major transactions. You will engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in an organisation that is at the forefront of the energy transition.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and sensitise robust project financial models in line with AIFA best practices and Group investment guidelines
  • Analyse, evaluate and recommend financing options and proposals as they relate to a organic project development or other funding needs.
  • Conduct financial Due Diligence on M&A opportunities, including coordination of external financial advisors
  • Calculate valuation as well as accounting impacts (net debt, COI, ROCE, Net Results, profit on disposal) of investment decisions, contributing to quality and uniformity of valuation methods
  • Advise and assist internal stakeholders in understanding appropriate risk allocation, bankability of terms and conditions of various project contracts and provide general structuring advice and optimization of returns
  • Assist the business development decision making process, identifying key financial indicators to be applied and monitored for investment decisions.
  • Liaise directly with business development, finance and tax to understand and develop business plans and relevant assumptions, scenarios and sensitivities, including the accounting and tax treatment, and assess their impact on the project

 

 

 About you:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within energy, infrastructure, banking or an advisory firm
  • Ability to manage a diverse and complex set of stakeholders, advise and influence decisions
  • Advanced modelling skills and relevant qualifications such as CFA, Engineering, Economics
  • Ability to manage multiple parties with minimal support including banks, consultants, lawyers as well as internal stakeholders (management, business development, legal, technical, insurance, tax and accounting) to bring transactions to conclusion in a challenging environment
  • Ability to support multiple projects of varying maturity at the same time
  • Team player, collaborative, with a long term view on career and passion for the energy transition

The opportunity:

The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. In this newly created role, you will be the sole legal counsel within the GEMS ANZ business unit reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for GEMS ANZ.

 

You will support the commercial success of the GEMS ANZ business by providing strategic legal input into all aspects of its business activities and projects and delivering timely, sound and pragmatic advice on legal and compliance matters.

 

The position will suit an experienced legal professional, who will thrive in a commercial environment, supporting a growth agenda as a trusted partner to senior leadership whilst developing sustainable relationships with key external stakeholders and business partners of GEMS ANZ.

 

The main areas of focus for the role include supporting the development of:

  • New business and related infrastructure
  • Green products, including carbon offsets, ACCUs, renewable energy certificates and green PPAs
  • Gas supply, transportation and storage agreements
  • Legal onboarding including ISDA Master Agreement negotiation
  • Derivatives transaction support
  • Monitoring and adapting to Australian regulatory developments and regulatory compliance support  

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategies and solutions to facilitate the commercial objectives of the GEMS business in Australia and New Zealand generally - identifying and mitigating any transactional, regulatory and related risks and issues
  • Work closely with front officers to contribute to business objectives through providing first class legal and regulatory advice relevant for the company’s business
  • Exercise sound professional judgment in identifying issues that need reference to management and/or colleagues, legal experts within the business unit or the group
  • Advise on legal and related issues as they arise in day-to-day trading/marketing activities, e.g. transaction support including legal onboarding, drafting, reviewing, advising on and negotiating bespoke, single trade and master agreements on various energy commodities and their derivatives (i.e. green PPAs, gas, carbon offset agreements, guarantees of origin, renewable energy certificates, verified emission reduction, commodity related financial derivatives), contracts with trading related market participants such as brokers and trading platforms

 

About you:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Several years’ experience as a lawyer in Australia or other suitable common law jurisdiction with significant post qualification experience in a relevant domain.
  • Substantial transactional experience with top-tier law firm, financial services provider and/or leading commodities firm
  • Previous in-house legal experience (including secondments) is advantageous
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, respecting the opinions of others
  • Strong commercial acumen

Due to an internal move, we have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced technology professional with suitable experience to oversee testing and release management for the digital stack  in ENGIE Retail. You will report to the head of Digital Services and manage our vendor resources as well as one ENGIE team member, working in a collaborative and friendly team environment at our Freshwater place offices (hybrid).

 

You will have hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing and pride yourself on your ability to contribute to quality application deployments into production, in a timely fashion.

The Test and Release manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across the Engie Retail product suite.

 

This role will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including senior management, to ensure that quality is upheld throughout all project lifecycles and BAU activities.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the enhancement and implementation of QA framework, processes, and governance standards
  • Provide direction to teams on QA practices and ensure adherence to QA standards
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure quality control over vendors' deliverables.
  • Drive the effective delivery and operation of testing-related tools to achieve standard outcomes and ROI.
  • Conduct regular health checks and quality audits to maintain quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring ensuring individual growth and development to Testing & Release Analyst
  • Ensure that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
