Job Description
Reporting to the Project Director, the Programme Manager is a member of the leadership team, programme leadership team, and delivery board.
The role will work very closely with the Project Director and (PLT) Programme Leadership Team, with responsibility for the successful day to day delivery of the allocated projects withing the EIFM portfolio in line with the agreed roadmap and specific ENGIE Impact and Group needs.
This is both a strategic and "hands on" multifunctional delivery role working across a number of key business areas including Finance, Procurement, HR and IT, to enable cost efficiencies and benefits to be achieved.
The Programme Manager will Chair the weekly Programme Review Meeting and be an active member of the programme team, having circa 6 team members with a dotted line responsibility to them including the global programme delivery teams.
The role will be expected to manage the delivery of multiple projects valued in the range of €2-400M.
Impact
Responsible for the day to day delivery of the Client Programmes; ensuring the desired programme outcomes (on time, on budget, quality) and realising benefits, within accelerated timeframes, cost model and to a high-quality standard set out by the Project Director and ENGIE Executive team
Responsibilities
Working across the entire scope of programme in a multi-functional capacity and with the need to challenge the status quo, the post holder will be required to enthusiastically drive and deliver the Programme’s goals/targets and ensure achievement of the required standards within the Programme.
This includes:
- Working with the PLT/Workstream leads and Delivery Partners to ensure a Programme scope of work and RACI is established and responsibilities understood in accordance with the scope of work
- Working with PLT/Workstream Leads and third parties, be responsible for creating a detailed, coherent programme plan which will deliver the outcomes required
- Responsible for shaping how the day to day activities detailed in the Programme Plan are delivered, monitoring and ensuring timely completion.
- Responsible for designing the Governance structure, and ensuring this is in place in order to facilitate effective programme delivery in line with quality, financial and key milestone targets
- Working with PLT/Workstream leads and Delivery Partners to oversee identification, monitoring and challenging critical activities, programme risks and issues, designing and implementing mitigations as required, raising concerns with the Project Director in a timely manner
- Taking ownership for shaping the PMO function; ensuring PID, Budgets/Cost objects, RAID logs, Programme Status Reports, Compliance, Quality and other Programme documentation is maintained, monitoring and challenging the output to ensure this is robust and accurate, providing regular summary views to the Project Director/PLT/Governance forums as required
- Effectively managing the programme resourcing schedule to ensure the avoidance of bottlenecks and conflicting demands which could put Programme delivery at risk
- Taking ownership to ensure design and delivery of effective delivery, including coordination of dependencies across delivery within and outside the Programme and working closely with the finance, HR, procurement and IT teams to ensure delivery of the client readiness elements of the programme
- Managing the commercial relationship with the clients and other key partners, including ENGIE Group, raising any issues with the Project Director
- Monitoring the performance of the third-parties against the Contractual agreement/scope, and raising any issues with the Project Director
- Working with PLT/Workstream Leads and Delivery Partners to ensuring delivery of benefits associated with the programme are identified, evaluated and their delivery monitored/tracked, proactively seeking opportunities for further benefits
- Supporting the PLT in the management and engagement of Executive stakeholders
- Responding to unplanned issues that may affect the programme, including wider ENGIE transformation and change initiatives
- Chairs the weekly Programme Review meeting and actively participates in the Programme Steering Committee and Delivery Board, deputising for the Project Director in Executive Steering Committee as required
- Managing the integration of programme outcomes into business-as-usual status

Experience
Education/Experience:
- one of Project Management qualifications PMI / PMP / Prince2 or suitable track record in a similar role
- Significant portfolio project management experience
- Demonstrable success as senior Programme Manager for large, complex, matrix, multi-national corporate environments
- Desirable: Delivery in a scaled agile environment across multiple product teams and portfolios (familiar with Scrum)

Breadth of knowledge in digital technology solutions with strong leadership skills to influence Technology and Business Leaders
- Tenacious with a proven track record of managing a complex agenda at pace, with multiple priorities competing
- Credible and confident in engaging with Senior Executive Management
- Ability to lead, coach, mentor and develop programme resources, creating a sense of teamwork by pulling together the different cross-functional elements of the programme
- Experience in effectively managing and motivating a team to achieve high quality outputs to tight deadlines
