About the team

 Our Power & Infrastructure Business Line provides high added value activities to the Global Business Units (GBUs) of ENGIE, the power generation sector, grid operators, and industries in Europe.This covers applied research and on-the-field technical expertise. 

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to participate in our Electrical activities driving forward the future!

 

What you’ll be doing

 

Your responsibilities as Technical Project Manager Electrical (F/M/X)

 

Project Management: You participate in and coordinate the execution of specific contracts, collaborating with experts from various fields to develop innovative and driven projects. Your role is to ensure coordination of multi-disciplinary projects and respect of deliverables (cost, quality and timing). You will report to the delivery team during project execution. The vast majority of projects are small-scale and involve internal experts (from one or several geographical entities). As project manager, you will also be in direct discussion with the customer.

Lab set-up and coordination: As technical project manager, you will also be involved in coordination of new lab set-up and coordination of project linked to lab expansions. This required project management skills but also proven track record of lab environment.

Technical Expertise: You leverage your technical electrical expertise and work closely with experts from different competence centers to provide comprehensive and integrated solutions. At least one of the following technical expertise is required (Power Electronics, Power System Simulations, RES Grid Integration, cable or transformer expertise). Experience in “productization” of research work into commercial services is an asset.

Client Relationships and Technical Leadership: You build a trusting relationship with clients, from defining their needs to delivering high-value solutions, and take the lead in the technical definition of new projects. Adaptability skills during projects is also required in order to suit the client’s need at best while respecting the timeline and budget.

International Environment and Travel: You enjoy working in an international context, with significant activities in the Middle East and LATAM, and are willing to travel from time to time for coordination meetings and field missions.

Innovation and Sustainable Development: You initiate new projects and contribute valuable input to R&D roadmaps, supporting also the development goals of our electrical services for renewable energy clients

 You will work alongside a supportive team and will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your own career. The workload is estimated in average to approximately 50% expertise and 50% project management (this is indeed project-dependent).

For EMS (European Maintenance Support), we are currently looking for a Controls and Instrumentation Technician (M/F/X) in Belgium to join our EMS Aero derivatives Solution team.

 

YOUR RESPONSABILITIES as a Controls and Instrumentation Technician Gas turbines (M/F/X)

 

  • You get the opportunity to acquire knowledge, develop and maintain expertise in the field of thermal & Aero derivative Gas turbines.
  • The EMS Aero derivative Solutions department manages the instrumentation, control systems, and combustion systems of the gas turbines used for electricity production. Your goal will be to become an expert in your field to support our clients, both ENGIE and non-ENGIE.
  • In collaboration with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the I&C maintenance scopes on gas turbines in various power plants .
  • With the support of your colleagues, you will develop key maintenance competencies in the field of  instrumentation and control systems of aero derivative gas turbines (for ex. LM6000/LM2500).
  • By delivering high-quality work and demonstrating exemplary safety behavior, you will bring significant added value to our customers.
  • You will perform complete maintenance scopes in your field of expertise (outages, unplanned interventions, diagnostic and troubleshooting, …). You will manage all project phases, from preparation to final reporting.

 

YOUR PROFILE as a Controls and Instrumentation Technician Gas turbines (M/F/X)

 

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in measurement and controls techniques/automation/ electronics/electromechanics or equivalent through experience

Our international team of 21 Mechanical and Thermal Processes engineers is already well known for its competence in complex problem solving for different component issues in the power energy business as well as general industry. We are also responsible for the online monitoring of more than 100 turbine shaft lines for clients around the world and are regularly called for on-site dedicated measurements and analyses in case of problems. Within Laborelec, our team works closely with the Materials, Non-Destructive Testing and Electrical expert teams.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

Your responsibilities as Vibration Project Engineer (F/M/X)

In order to meet the demand for activities related to the identification of problem root causes or design assessment within the Cluster Mechanical & Thermal Processes, we are looking for a Vibration and Mechanics Project Engineer who wants to develop his/her career in the field of Condition Monitoring and Vibrations analysis. 

 

In this role, you will be fully involved in the follow-up of vibration behaviour of turbo generator shaft lines involving complex root cause analysis of rotating machinery. You will also advise our customers regarding the best condition monitoring strategies for their specific assets based on your sound technical and up-to-date solutions knowledge.

 

You will work alongside a supportive team, and will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your own career.

 

Specifically this means:

  • Performing detailed vibration analysis of turbo generator shaft lines.
  • Analyzing mechanical problems and vibration issues of power plant components, adding value in the interpretation of the results and proposed solutions.
  • Providing advice regarding the condition monitoring potential of existing or new technologies.
  • Participating in the remote condition monitoring service shifts of power plants main shaft lines.

YOUR PROFILE as a Field Technician Turbines

 

  • You are mechanically skilled (A2/bachelor/graduate electromechanics) and have preferably a basic knowledge of electricity.
  • Experience in maintenance of turbines, aircraft engines, derivative gas turbines or large rotating equipment is required.
  • You are fluent in English and willing to obtain basic level (A2) in French or Dutch.
  • You are flexible in terms of working hours and workplace. You see varying hourly schedules (day, shifts, weekends) as 'part of the job'. You are willing to perform work at our various sites in Belgium and abroad (mainly France and the Netherlands, max. 30%).

 

YOUR CHALLENGE as a Field Technician Turbines

 

As a Field Technician Turbines, you will actively participate in various maintenance projects, overhauls and interventions. An extra challenging aspect of the job is that no two days are the same.

  • You are responsible for organizing, coordinating and performing mechanical maintenance work on industrial gas and steam turbines.
  • At the start of a new construction site, you will be involved in the preparation and, together with the expert engineers from our team, determine the approach, planning and scope of the work to be performed.
  • Depending on the project, you will either take on the role of site supervisor or the role of field technician (or both).
  • In the role as site supervisor, you will coordinate, execute and be responsible for determining resources, ordering materials and following up on them correctly and on time.
  • During execution, you will work with a team of technicians consisting of both colleagues and subcontractors.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the work required and constantly ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.
  • For unplanned sites or incidents, you will participate in interventions, analyze problems and work hands-on on the turbines with the goal of resolving the problem.
