What You Can Expect

As our Maintenance Planner II, at The Ohio State University, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities to prevent equipment breakdowns and minimize equipment/system downtime.

 

Every day you will develop work plans and maintenance processes to improve staff productivity and work quality. You will also prepare purchase requests, maintain and track consumable and spare part inventories. You will report to the Maintenance Manager.

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have a minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • You have a minimum 2 years of maintenance experience as a technician, supervisor or planner
  • You will create and implement preventive maintenance plans to avoid equipment failures and downtime
  • You will plan and schedule daily, weekly, and annual maintenance activities, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and with minimal disruption to operations
  • You will coordinate utility outages when necessary
  • You must track and manage the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies
  • You must work closely with maintenance technicians, engineering teams, and vendors to coordinate maintenance activities and needs for various types of work scopes including capital projects
  • You will track KPIs and preparing/presenting reports on maintenance activities and their effectiveness
  • You must maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and maintenance costs via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure all regulatory and industry standards are followed
  • You must conduct regular utility plant walk-throughs of all ENGIE sites on campus and interacting with employees and contractors
  • You must generate and manage detailed work orders for maintenance tasks, ensuring safety is an integral part of the process
  • You will estimate time, resources and materials needed with close collaboration with supervision
  • You will collaborate with all departments and necessary vendors/contractors on annual maintenance for major equipment such as boilers, chillers, turbines, and compressors
  • You will coordinate with vendors and contractors
  • You will support capital projects with regards to PMs, spare parts, inventory and setting up assets in the CMMS
  • You will complete other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license; will drive company vehicle

Compensation

Hourly:  $36.00 to $55.17 USD hourly

What You Can Expect

​​Our Contracts Analyst II, located at The Ohio State University Campus, will collaborate closely with our Capital Projects team on campus and provide active support to team members located at Georgetown University, University of Iowa, and our Corporate Office in Houston, TX. This dynamic role entails supporting the negotiation, development, and administration of capital project contracts associated with campus energy systems' capital improvement projects. Additionally, there may be involvement in contract activities for business development concerning new partnerships with universities, commercial, and industrial entities. 

Every day is different; however one aspect of this role is constant. The significance of building and maintaining strong relationships. You'll engage with various groups and divisions within ENGIE, vendors, subcontractors, and the University on a daily basis, recognizing that robust partnerships are essential for our success on campus. 

Your daily responsibilities will involve assisting project managers and contract advisors in the contracting and procurement process for all capital improvement projects on Campus. This includes supporting the development and tracking of Request for Proposal (RFP) packages, ensuring alignment with project schedules and stakeholder requirements. You'll take the lead in the contract bidding process for low-risk contracts, acting as the single point of contact for bidders, organizing site visits, and issuing RFP addenda as needed. Ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements in our contracts will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in negotiating with selected bidders, employing a documented process and sound judgment to resolve scope, terms, and other discrepancies. 

​You'll also contribute to the procurement process by creating vendor-related agreements for services and materials, and participate in the development and tracking of legal documents such as contractual submittals, notices, and change orders as necessary. Furthermore, you'll review supplier/contract project invoicing for compliance with contracts, support project close-out documentation requirements using provisional acceptance and final acceptance contract documentation, and track, evaluate, and qualify new and existing contractor relationships. Providing support on contractual claims and disputes will also be part of your responsibilities.​

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Business, or Bachelor of Business Administration, Supply Chain or other similar degree 

  • ​Two (2) or more years of experience in a related field where you have developed a background in contract development / contract administration or project related execution 
  • ​You will have gained experience in energy systems development or construction with public, industrial, or commercial customers  
  • ​You are experienced in planning  and working independently as well as being a collaborative team player 
  • ​You are able to handle multiple tasks concurrently at a fast pace and with accuracy

As our Maintenance Manager, at The Ohio State University, you will be responsible for directing and managing the overall maintenance of the central utility plants (Steam, Chilled Water, Combined Heat & Power) on the campus. The Maintenance Manager will be involved with capital project reviews and installation from an Operations & Maintenance perspective.  This role will identify short-term and long-term maintenance needs and assist with capital project development and you will report to the Director of Energy Delivery.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Possess high school diploma or G.E.D
  • 5 years of supervisory experience

  • You have experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office; managing the Maximo CMMS maintenance work order, equipment history and record keeping system

  • You know how to provide input to capital plans for the utility plants; support system planning and recommend future steam, power generation, chilled water, natural gas and heating hot water improvements and repairs
  • You will be responsible for the development of direct and indirect reports including annual performance evaluations

As our Electrician II, at The Ohio State University, with the supervision of the High Voltage Manager & Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing duties as a highly skilled electrician in the installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of low, medium, and high voltage to 138,000-volt class electrical generation and distribution systems and equipment.   • You will have high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; computer literacy

  • You have a minimum 10 years work experience as a commercial/ industrial electrician, including 6 years experience in installation and maintenance of 600V class electrical systems; Or 6 years experience in 15000-volt systems; 3 years of experience & ability to install and maintain troubleshoot/repair 5000 & 15000-volt class electrical systems
  • You have knowledge of basic principles of electricity and related terminology; an ability to read technical manuals, schematic wiring diagrams and volt-ohm-amp testers       
  • You will assist Utility Electrician III or High Voltage Electrician with operation, installation, removal, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of 15,000 and 138,000-volt class equipment consisting of underground cable vaults, cable duels, cable racks, cables, splices, terminations, equipment grounding, surge arresters, switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, motors; assist with distribution system switching
  • You may serve as crew leader; instruct lower staff on work to be performed; assist in training other personnel
  • You will direct and inspect contractor work in the installation of permanent and temporary power sources, inspects and monitors new electrical construction work for design standard and electrical safety requirements; direct and perform preventive maintenance and overhaul of electrical equipment in utility plants
  • You will perform equipment lockout/tagout; uses test equipment (multi-amp, strobe lights, probe, megaohm meter, hi-pot) to remedy and prevent problems
  • You will overhaul motors and replace bearings; operate cranes and/or lift vehicles to move electrical equipment; maintain substation battery banks, wiring systems, annunciator panels,  3-phase meters and circuit protective relays
  • You will read blueprints, electrical diagrams, technical manuals; update drawings and schematics, and design equipment (e.g. transformer table, battery rack, star cart, etc.) to perform tasks; maintains records and reports, performs other related duties.
