What You Can Expect

As our Category Lead Buyer for Electrical Equipment & Services, Advisor, you will collaborate with Global Business Units, Group Category Management, and Project Procurement to align on the Electrical Equipment category strategy. You will lead the supplier qualification and sourcing process, initiate major negotiation efforts for contracting to secure the supply chain of key equipment, and ensure compliance with Group’s and local requirements (Ethics, CSR, H&S). Additionally, you will manage frame agreements, monitor supplier performance, and foster relationships with key suppliers. You will also develop a contracting strategy, document the category strategy playbook, and provide your expertise on technology and industry trends. This position is located in Houston, TX, and reports to the NorthAM Chief Procurement Officer.

 

 

  • Provide expertise in technology, pricing, and industry trends for North America, conducting supply market analysis and identifying challenges/opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), ensuring smooth supply chain operations and proactively addressing potential disruptions
  • Monitor supplier performance with input from Global Business Units (GBUs), steering the overall procurement process
  • Lead negotiation efforts for contracting, manage competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) bids, and drive final supplier selections in partnership with key stakeholders

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Engineering

  • A minimum seven (7) + years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement
  • You possess a working knowledge of the construction labor market and materials/commodities market trends
  • You demonstrate strong relationship management and communication skills, collaborating with bid/project managers and technical teams
  • You bring experience in bidding, negotiating, and hiring trade contractors while maintaining cost competitiveness
  • You have advanced knowledge in Procurement processes and tools (SAP, Ariba) and proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in the Houston, TX office

Compensation

Salary Range: $100,905 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As the ROCC Operator I located in Houston, TX, you will be working under the supervision of the ROCC Supervisor and in collaboration with Engineering, IT and Operations stakeholders, to monitor and coordinate the Real Time operation of ENGIE’s 4.5 GW of renewable fleet of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage assets across North America from the 24/7/365 Renewable Operations Control Center to ensure stable and reliable operation of generation facilities.

 

Every shift, you will complete daily monitoring duties, to include maintenance of a thorough operations log and completion of shift checklists, track progress using CROW software, and work through a customized orientation packet designed for onboarding ROCC operators at ENGIE.

 

  • Ensure the reliable operation of ENGIE renewable assets, to include maintaining continual communication with on-site personnel and Asset Managers 
  • Implement and coordinate ENGIE asset outages as needed to support preventive and corrective maintenance
  • During abnormal system operating conditions or when sites have individual problems, evaluate the situation, direct and coordinate the solution in collaboration with on-site personnel and ROCC supervision

 

 

 What You’ll Bring

  • You have an associate’s degree in engineering or a relevant trade qualification (e.g. power system technician, protection, and control technologist

Your engineering expertise is crucial in preparing and reviewing reports, maintenance, and monitoring plans, and analyzing data to ensure environmental goals and objectives are adequately addressed. You provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable projects. Additionally, you assist site managers and construction engineers by ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, regulations, licenses, and plans. You lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures. You review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable NERC standards. You develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team, including misoperations, root cause analysis (Six-sigma, DMAIC, fish-bone), and safety-related events. Your knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI, is extensive. You are able to articulate, communicate, mentor, and provide guidance on addressing underperforming assets and develop plans to prioritize their return to service.

The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will be engaged in a broad range of business operation activities in support of project development and construction activities throughout ENGIE North America’s (ENA) portfolio of Grid Scale Renewables (utility-scale wind, solar and storage assets.)

 

The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will work in support of ENA’s Grid Scale Renewables Project Development, Project Delivery, and Commercial Strategy cross functional teams, in support of managers, directors and vice presidents within ENA’s Grid Scale Renewables’ Project Development, Project Delivery and Commercial Strategy teams.

 

Every day in this role your work will focus on establishing and maintaining various budget control processes, accounting forensic and issues resolution, SAP and COUPA project management controls, and routine CapEx budget reviews and reporting. The Business Operations, Senior Analyst will work independently with various corporate functional support groups (e.g., Accounting, AP, IT, FP&A and Procurement) to implement ongoing business operation processes and resolve identified issues.

 

  • Assist with the formation, establishment, and upkeep of SAP WBS projects/templates and the flow of information from SAP to grid scale renewables development and construction managers to perform their job responsibilities
  • Analyze, assess, and report on Project Development/Construction CapEx and Operations/Maintenance OpEx spend data to ensure quality and accuracy. Independently execute forensic accounting tasks to identify outliers and work directly with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to rectify errors. Routinely produce, assess, and distribute monthly project status reports. Update, modify, and review budgets with managers, addressing outliers as supplemental budgets are approved and contingencies are released. Highlight approaching budget constraints and risks to ensure proactive management
  • Assist development, construction, and project managers with the establishment of projects and full life cycle budgets in SAP
  • Preparation of annual cash spend plans and routine cash forecasting exercises
  • Identify process gaps and opportunities for improving existing processes. Proactively engage and work with various corporate functions to roll-out new or updated business processes and tools
  • Develop and maintain documentation and process flows to define various business processes, and collaborate with Project Controllers on budget management, scheduling, and quality control initiatives to enhance these processes

The Project Development Advisor will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across the market.   • Manage/analyze information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups
  • Manage project level progress, risks, opportunities, and economics while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation
  • Drive decisions and prioritize allocation of resources based on a deep understanding of schedule dependencies and financial impacts
  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market in CAISO, including regulatory and competitive matters, to inform development decisions
  • Track project progress through key development milestones, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating across disciplines within the Company
  • Manage and/or support due diligence activities for acquisitions
  • Manage negotiation of lease/purchase options and agreements for site control
