We are looking for young, motivated landscape (ir.)Architects, Urbanists and Landscape Architects to join our design team. Our team currently includes 35 architects, urban designers and landscape architects working within the field of spatial design on a wide range of projects: public space, landscape design, infrastructure works, spatial policy studies and research....

We are mainly working in Flanders, but have recently started focusing on Brussels projects as well. We combine precise spatial interventions with an integrated and inclusive approach. In this way, we incorporate broad social issues such as climate change, social polarization, resource scarcity.... as an attitude in the design process within projects. Each project is therefore the result of a close collaboration between designers, engineers and experts. Through an iterative process of sketches, calculations, research, projects are developed that are not only socially relevant, but also have a certain flexibility towards meaning and use.

Tractebel has a philosophy of flexible working hours. You are welcome in one of our office in Ghent next to Gent-Sint-Pieters station, for at least 4 days a week. On the other day you can work at home or in an office in Antwerp or Brussels, thus avoiding long travel times and balancing work and private life.

 

Job Description 

 

  • As a freelance (ir) architect-urbanist or landscape architect, you will be working on public space, landscape and architectural designs of varying scale and content, from concept phase to tender dossier. 
  • You help further develop the Spatial Design team and take the initiative for knowledge sharing in the team.
  • You prepare consultations with our clients in the form of plans, presentations and bundles in which you can convey the essence of our design proposals in a clear and attractive way, and you attend meetings with clients.
  • You discuss designs with other disciplines, internal or external (engineers, traffic experts, environmental experts, energy and water experts, external study or architectural firms, etc.) and ensure the multidisciplinary support of your designs.
  • You ensure good project documentation, graphic design and layout of all documents in accordance with our department's standard.
  • You participate in integrated teams that enter design contests to win new projects.    

 

 

 

Profile 

 

  • Master's degree in engineering, architecture and/or urban and spatial planning or equivalent degree
  • Experience is not required. Just graduated and looking for a first work experience, you are certainly welcome to join us
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, French is definitely a plus. 
  • You are familiar with graphic (Adobe suite, Sketchup, ..) and CAD software, as well as outlook (excel, word , powerpoint.

Experiență, calificări, cunoștințe și abilități:

  • Studii superioare cu profil electric - electrotehnică/ electroenergetică
  • Autorizație ANRE: IIIA +IIIB;
  • Experiență minimum 5 ani în proiectarea/ execuția/ mentenanța sistemelor electrice;
  • Cunoștințe avansate de AutoCAD (2D/3D);
  • Bună cunoaștere a standardelor, normelor și legislației din domeniu;
  • Cunoștinte limba engleză nivel mediu;

What You Can Expect

As the High Voltage (HV) Program Manager within ENGIE North America’s Flexible Generation (FlexGen) Business Unit, your role involves managing the High Voltage equipment within the company’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets across the USA. To complete this, you'll be tasked with planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance plans across various high voltage equipment.

 

Reporting to the Asset Operations and Management Director, your primary duties encompass:

 

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on High Voltage equipment health throughout the BESS project lifecycle, focusing on the operational stage but supporting commissioning and design groups as needed
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance programs, policies, and procedures ensuring alignment with various operational best practices and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate internal and external maintenance technicians for reactive maintenance
  • Prepare and submit reports to internal teams, documenting findings and areas for concern
  • Provide training and guidance to operational staff on requirements and best practices
  • Assess pre-operational project documents, designs, and plans for HV best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders industry partners to address compliance issues and ensure alignment with regulatory standards

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline; In lieu of the educational requirement, we will accept a minimum of 7 years of experience working with High Voltage electrical equipment
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in power industry; experience with BESS or renewables projects is preferred
  • Previous experience managing a team is preferred. Particular attention to previous field team management
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing individual priorities effectively

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

  • Autonomously performing the assigned project tasks in the area of expertise.
  • Preparation of bid proposals, and participation in business development activities.

As a Hydrology Expert (m/f/d) you’ll be part of the OneWater organisation and report to the Director of the Cli-mate, Resilience and Environment unit. This newly created and growing unit is composed of almost 30  Environmental Engineers, Hydrologists, Water Resources Experts, Geomatics and Climate Change Spe-cialists based in Germany and France. As experienced technical expert, you work within flexible project teams at the realization of international projects, from our headquarters in Bad Vilbel (Rhein Main area), Germany, and abroad. You’ll contribute to foster internal collaboration, promote knowledge sharing with-in and outside our unit, and further expand our experience in complex projects related to flood protec-tion, water resource management, river basin plans, irrigation, water transfer or disaster risk management in the context of climate change. Your field of activity includes:

 

  • Independently provide key input to the preparation of masterplans and (pre-)feasibility studies
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals
  • Contribute to the technical development of the team and our services
  • Travel as required

Your function

  • Contribute to various transport infrastructure projects under the guidance of experienced engineers and draftsmen.
  • Assist in ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of engineering tasks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Learn and actively participate in the integrated design process across different disciplines.
  • Assist in addressing client requirements and needs.
  • Support the development of sustainable and efficient solutions.

Candidate’s profile

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Road engineering.
  • Demonstrated interest and some technical experience in road engineering projects, computing, and designing represents an advantage.
  • Basic skills in Autocad 2D; willingness to learn and develop skills in Civil 3D.
  • Good communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Client-oriented, flexible, and proficient in English.
  • Openness to occasional international travel for collaboration and projects.
  • Mobility by car is beneficial, and an international driving license “B” is a plus.
