Luka Mkheidze (Judo)
After a 10-month break due to injury, our judoka has made a spectacular return to competition!
Following a rupture of the cruciate knee ligament in March 2022, Luka was forced to take a break from the mat. After having an operation, he needed nearly 10 months of physiotherapy.
1st competition in January 2023
The new year has started well for Luka! He returned to competition at the end of January for the Portuguese Grand Prix and took home the bronze medal in the -60 kg category. A very encouraging performance, auguring well for the rest of the season.
Luka followed this up brilliantly 3 weeks later at the Tel Aviv Grand Slam, taking the gold medal and thus proving that he is definitely back and the French No. 1 in -60 kg.
Luka will be the French representative in his category for the next World Championships in Doha this May. Congratulations to Luka on this convincing comeback.
