By ENGIE - 06 October 2021 - 15:15

Over 60 competitors - some amateurs, others top-level athletes – lined up at the start of the second stage of ENGIE Kite Tour 2021, held in La Grande-Motte (Hérault, France) from 24 to 26 September.

In addition to fifty amateurs from all over France, five ENGIE employees lined up to compete against the French Kite foil team, made up of Alexia Fancelli, Anaïs Mai Des Jardins, Benoit Gomez, Théo De Ramecourt, Nicolas Parlier and Axel Mazella, Team ENGIE kiteboard racer and three-time European champion.
After the first day of sunshine but little wind, all competitors, regardless of their type of board, raced in eight rounds on the Saturday. On the third day of the competition, there were three rounds of foil.
Altogether, foils raced in eleven rounds while the twin-tip and directional boards raced in eight.
On Saturday, twenty or so ENGIE Green employees based in Montpellier came to support their colleagues and have a go at manoeuvring a kite on the beach.
