ENGIE, alongside AWS, Carrefour Group, CMA CGM Group, Cluster Maritime Français, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Faurecia, Michelin, Schneider Electric, Total and Wärtsilä, has joined a coalition that will work on devising solutions to support the energy transition in the transport and logistics sectors.
ENGIE has joined the Coalition for Tomorrow's Energy to develop concrete solutions to decarbonize and improve the energy efficiency of the transport and logistics sectors, drawing on its expertise. The members of the coalition have identified nine concrete projects, including the development of green hydrogen and biogas for the transport sector, a digital route-planning system that identifies itineraries with the lowest environmental impact, and more environmentally-friendly multimodal platforms. The coalition will present its first findings at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in January 2021.
Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, Chairman of the Board of Engie, commented: “The economic recovery plans and both public and private investments they will generate will structure our economies for many years to come. It is therefore essential to seize this opportunity to accelerate the decarbonization of all industries, particularly transportation. Tomorrow, they will be an asset for our companies and for the economy as a whole.”
